  1. We have them already. Only now they are called: - Lobbyists - Tax lawyers - Campaign workers Let's not forget the ambulance chasing lawyers.
  2. I recall (many years ago) a family friend bragging about how she slept off her hangovers in the crane cab at union steel. What if there was a Skydiving Instructors Union... I woke up in the 206 one sunday morning, didn't remember how I got there. Just glad I didn't throw up in it.
  3. Sorry for interjecting late in this thread, I just happened to catch it today. I attended an estate planning sympoium put on by a law firm. They presented an option to avoid estate taxes not mentioned here. The Trust. If someone sets up a trust for thier Heirs, the estate passes to the heirs without probate and without the death tax. The downside is a trust is a bit expensive to set up. In my state they are around $5,000 depending on how complex it is and what assets are involved.
  4. I'm pretty sure you missed the [/sarcasim] key... My Apologies, I was caught up in the moment.
  5. Edit: When my wife was in college in the 80s she was invited by a friend, whos father worked in the steel mills in PA. The had enornous wages, benefits, etc. They even got the elaborate Christmas party, including door prizes such as TVs, Stereos Last but not least. A Christmas Bonus. All included in the Union Contract. Now, we get to buy mostly foreign steel. WOO HOO go UAW.
  6. When the bad guy starts monologuing, you know you're going to get away. Baaa........Baaaa.......Baaaaaa.......POWPOWPOW.... Ba.........................................................................................................................................................................................
  7. Unfortunately, you are correct in her situation. You cannot carry into government buildings or on school property in Florida and many other states. However, in one state, Utah, you can carry on school property if you have a CCW. I also believe it should be changed. A Gun Free Zone = A Victim Rich Environment. [email]
  8. Needs more stuff in her purse! I agree, and I'm think a pistol would have done the job.
  9. They Claim...But , when he went down, that gun was no where near his own head....But I am game to stick with, "he shot himself"! He did committ suicide. The video clip on YouTube ends about 5 seconds sooner than the one I saw on the news. I shows him raise the gun and press it to his right temple.
  10. I'll restate, for clarity - he had already said that he was going to kill the board members remaining. At that point, just HOW was the lady trying to disarm him going to 'make things worse', pray tell? Oh come on......he was hanging on by a thread as it was. By attacking the guy that way she could have just set him off and then he opens fire on everyone.
  11. He'd already stated his intent to kill the people in the room. I'm thinking that's a pretty bad ending all by itself. Am I right that your referring to the psychological and emotional trauma on everyone? In that case I'm in whole hearted agreement with you there. Those people are probably going to need some serious counseling to deal with this. I was just thinking along the lines of multiple people killed and/or wounded.
  12. All I am saying is not to dis the semi-pop-top rigs that have the cutter below the freebag. They haven't been shown to need the cutter higher on the closing loop. I totally agree. Also, the rigs with the pilot chute under 1 or 2 flaps i.e., Javelin, Dolphin, Vortex, ect have much shorter closing loops, (2 1/4) than those that fully enclose the pilot chute like mirage and Vector which can be +or- 6" Something else that may come into play is when all or part of the pilot chute fabric is packed in the coils of the reserve pc spring like a VooDoo and Infinity.
  13. True....but *VERY* much respect to her for TRYING to make a difference. We may never know what motivated her, courage, fear, ect. The shooter was obviously very unstable and that attempt could have set him off and made a really bad ending for a lot of people in the room.
  14. Well....he made one shot that counted.
  15. The female board member with the purse was brave, but not smart. In law enforcement we call that "tombstone courage". "Tombstone Courage" I've never heard that expression before. Very appropriate. I also like, "Don't take a hand bag to a gun fight."
  16. This happened 3 days ago at a School Board Meeting in Panama City, FL. Another example of the failure of the Gun Free School Zone mentality. Edit: Gun Free Zone means no guns except for psycho ex-cons with a grudge. Here's the Link Sorry, I don't know how to do the clicky. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQjQOlJvMzE
  17. ..........and if your on a budget, a Dolphin.
  18. How about "I don't wear underware because it's too confining?"
  19. QuoteQuote>Who's going to stop someone from ordering a whole spool of it on >paragear and pencil packing their own reserve? Who's going to stop someone from ordering a package of packing data cards ($12 for 50) and just updating the info on the card once every six months? Or just ordering a seal press and some seals? (around $70) .......................................................................... This is something that has crossed my mind a few times. All someone would have to do is buy a seal press, dies with my symbol and a spool of thread. This is a topic that could be brought up at PIA and with Para Gear. Maybe suggest Para Gear require a copy of the riggers Airman Certificate before they will fill an order for dies with a seal symbol.
  20. Absolutely. I just got a good chuckle out of this one.
  21. QuoteIn the market for a new custom javelin odyssey. Just looking to see pics of other javs to get ideas on color patterens etc. I thank you for whomever replies with pics. Thanks Here's 2 pics of my Odyssey. Bought it in 2008
  22. That's really laughable. Iran can be held forth as a shining example of a human rights abuse.
  23. One of the Local Police Departments here set up a portable traffic camera on an 8 mile stretch of Interstate 95 that passes through their jurisdiction. They claim they did it to improve traffic safety. Everyone here thinks they did it to increase revenue from citations. I drive it every weekend on my way to the DZ. Seems that the word it out because most people slow down until they past the camera and then speed back up.
