Well, he isn't, which speaks to your level of knowledge about our politics. This happened seven years ago, and and the nutjobs are still at it. The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer.
-
He's commenting on the concensus mentality, not the actual science behind GW so.... Do you think "real" scientists disagree with him on that topic? The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer.
-
Cmon John. You're smarter than that. Are you saying that just because a person writes fiction they have no grasp of reality? No other talents? I find just the opposite. The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer.

Very thought provoking article. Thanks Marc. I'm going to pass it on to fellow "skeptics" and "denyers." Ya know - those scoundrels who believe that true science doesn't march in lock step with anyone. The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer.

Yeah, you "win." I should have known better than to tangle with the "Unknown Comic." Edited to Add: Lest you guys lose respect for me, I didn't go to PM with this dude(tte). I couldn't bear the thought of it laughing at me. The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer.

Hmm, while I agree that deficit spending and debt are bad, the economic effects are that deficit spending stimulates the economy. Rising debt crowds out private investment and manifests itself in higher interest rates, which in the long term will depress the economy. That hasn't happened. The higher interest rates are the result of problems in the mortgage industry and the Fed's fear of inflation. Buster says, lets drastically cut spending, put Nanny out of business, lower taxes, (pass the FairTax) and let Adam Smith decide the rest. The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer.

Now, thats funny stuff there! Beck is the shizzle. One day, I hope to find myself having a beer with Dennis Miller, Glen Beck, and Ted Nugent. Except Dennis and I will be the only ones with real beer. I'd be so happy I'd even invite Amazon and Kallend. The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer.

First of all whoever started this thread is a fucking idiot. The Air Force and our Guard and Reserve components who have the air defense tasking have always been focused on thwarting an attack from outside the US. Identifying an attack that originated within the US, using comercial airliners, was not part of the military mission. Even so, given the fog of war / confusion of that day, United 93 was only minutes from being shot out of the sky. I'm an old fighter pilot - and I'm glad I wasn't sitting in THAT cockpit. Unfortunately, we have now had to incorporate that scenario into the ROE. Who the hell are you? Can anyone here vouch for you? You have no information on your profile. IF what you say is true and you are a veteran, I have never known a veteran to spew anti American hate and bullshit like you do. Many disagree with current policy and that's fine, but given your level of bullshit it makes it hard for many of us to believe you. Edited to add. Well, I just looked at the entire thread for the first time, and it seems I'm not the first to question your authenticity. Apologies for the redundancy. The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer.

(Our superstitions are much older than that, but thats not the point.) How would she do that? I don't think she'll repeal the 1st amendment. And RvW is in no danger. BTW how is it that we are SO concerned with the firing of a librarian, but no one cares that BHO began his political career with Bill Ayers and only recently threw him under the bus? Or that Todd had a DUI 20 years ago but no one is concerned that BHO did cocaine? As VP and even potentially the P, she ain't gonna force you to go to church. Michael Moore is a big fat idiot.............

Well said, but I like the first post better. He's a big fat idiot. The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer. -

Its funny, but stupid on Obama's part. A common phrase, but he knew what he was saying. Honestly, I don't think he called her a pig, but he was definitely making a play on her speech, and it wasn't smart. The resulting Republican ad is petty, but effective. Republican supporters: How do you feel about the Religious Right?
TankBuster replied to SpeedRacer's topic in Speakers Corner
Hmm. I'm a Christian, and a conservative, so I suppose that makes me part of the religious right? There are alot of us out there, and our voice should be heard as much as anyone's. I don't think we will "take over the government" as someone suggested. There is a very vocal minority that gets alot of media coverage for the same reason most issues get media coverage - it's extreme, or it's bad news, and thats what sells advertising. No one in the media wants to hear me stand up and tell you about the simple love of Christ. It doesn't make good news. The only real power we have is the ability to vote, and if we constitute a large voting block, so be it. I can't speak for this large group that you guys seem to be so pissed off at or afraid of, but I can give you my take. First of all, just take religion out of the equation. Certainly it has a bearing on how I make decisions or how Obama (Christian) would make them, or how McCain/Palin (Christians) would make them, or how JFK (Christian) made them, or how Jimmy Carter (Christian) or Reagan(......you get the idea) because it is part of who we are. Your protection comes from the first amendment. My protection comes from the first amendment. So, let Hagee rant and let Robertson preach and let Wright spew, but always make sure that the 1st Amendment remains intact, and turn the channel. The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer. -
Global Warming’s Kaput; 2008 Coolest in 5 Years

Yes, I understand the difference between surface area and volume, that's why I asked the question. What you're saying validates the question. If the ice is thicker at the poles, and it is, then you can lose say, 20% of the surface area at the southern edges, and be losing only a small percentage of the total volume. It just seems more accurate, if we are really concerned, to measure total volume, not surface area. That's all. The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer. -

What are you guys doing to stop this? If you're still skydiving that's pumping out quite a bit of carbon. Driving? If you folks are really serious about this legacy you're leaving, wouldn't you stop all carbon output that your life didn't depend on? When Gore goes around preaching about it in his jet, its ok because he buys "offsets." So its ok to destroy the planet if you put money in someone's pocket? I disagree. The thin ice near the edge will recede a lot faster than the thick ice near the poles, won't it? The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer. -

Sure, could be, couldn't it? Santa has a bunch of elves who could be doing that. Yeah. No, I was just wondering why ice is reported in that scientific report as a two dimensional entity. Doesn't seem, well, scientific. I honestly don't read them, so I'm asking a serious question. Hard to believe, but I am. The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer. -

Ice, being a three dimensional animal, should be measured in cubic kilometers, shouldn't it? I ask that in all sincerety. Here in Alabama, we had a very cool August. Temps in the 80s and low 90s instead of the swealtering high 90s as is typical. I realize the insignificance of the data point, but it sure has been nice! The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer. -
Dude, that's just ignorant. Have you ever read any of the history behind that decision? The only way we were going to stop the Japanese was an invasion of the Japanese mainland. Even the most conservative estimates showed that it would have resulted in more civilian deaths than resulted from those bombs. AND of course, we'd have lost Americans. You people live in a fucking dream world. The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer.

Yes, I am a bushman. But not a Plain woman. Last time I checked there were definitely some kahunas down there. Your attempts to paint me as unpopular or in some minority are trivial. And no, I don't care to date any of the gals on this board. (I have a beautiful wife of 25 + years and I'll stick with her.) If that, and being in some popular majority are the driving force behind your beliefs, you are truly pitiful. The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer.

abortionists? LOL I agree with what you're saying as far as the likeliness of Roe V wade changing but did you really have to use that word? Yeah, I really did. LOL Don't lecture ME on anti political correctness. I read your posts. Now, back to Palin. I just want to see her in hot pants and a cammo jacket skinning a buck. Then the deal is sealed. The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer.

Abortion, she wants it illegal all the time, a big issue of hers. Well,

She a well-dressed piece of trailer trash Well, so much for an intelligent debate. The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer.

You can take the person out of the trailer, but not the trailer out of the person, so we will see that in the debates with no prompter. Now THAT sounds almost as elitist as BHO! The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer.
-
It remains to be seen how well she will speak unrehearsed and without a teleprompter Not really. She's been interviewed before all this hoopla. On CNN an interviewer gave her some tough questions and she was articulate, resolute, and polished. Based on the number of liberal posts in these Palin threads, its pretty easy to see she has you guys panicked. And for good reason. The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer.
