No, I had to modify it to accommodate having no place to hang a canopy. I made it so I can do it on the floor by using a sort of "flat pack" method of flaking it and doing a chord wise inspection. You mean the 713 more shifts (3 years, 6 months, 15 days) until blessed relief? They had a 5 alarm fire last night in an old ice company warehouse. They are actually still there (just one alarm worth of stuff though) trying to determine a cause. However, the structure is so far gone that it's gonna be a few days until they figure it out. In other news, Harford county had a two alarm house fire that killed one and burned another over 50%. We were quiet tonight. Everything happened around us. The biggest thing on this shift was an idiot janitor figured out how to burn up a dust mop in a dryer at a high school. So much excitement, so little time. Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. In Fire Dept. culture, as in skydiving culture, your nick name is given in reference to either something (stupid) that you did OR was done to you. When I was transferred from station 55 to station 15, the guys at the old station decided to make it memorable. They sent to the new station a bag marked "Found in locker formerly occupied by Specialist Kevin Grishkot." The bag contained a pair of womens' boots that had a jingle bell on the toe. For the next six months, I was known as "tinkerbell". Then it became "Tinker" and finally "Tink". It's been "Tink" for the last 15 years. Hope that didn't bore too many of you. Well, my $.02 is that what I see from 50 ft out has to indicate that she takes care of herself. (After all, I f she can't take care of herself, how can she take care of me?) That means, there has to be some symmetry, both left and right, top and bottom. Boobs have to roughly equal butts. A's are OK, B's are better, C's are better than that, D's are pushing it, but all that has to follow the basic shape. No obvious obesity or anorexia and no outwardly self destructive habits (drugs, excessive alcohol ) and a clear face. Actually, I thought women knew all that. You have to come up with a method that will best suit the facility that you have. If you have enough room to hang it, great, if you don't you'll have to figure something else out. I don't think it would be a good idea to stick a light up there. Just too many things to get snagged, heat issues, ect... A light table would be great, provided you have room, and money. Yeah, but now I start to think about doing Triathlon again. No more being the out of shape lard ass I've ben for the last two years. I went from doing thirty miles a week to nothing in a matter of two weeks. Got round one of surgery, three months later. Got round two, two years later. Just now getting to be able to run. But now I have an assload of work to do just to get back into shape. But at least it will be pain free. PS. see you at SoBe around the 18-21st. Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. After four years and two rounds of knee surgery, I was able to do a totally pain free 5K. This means I might not need the third round of surgery. YEAH BABY!! NO MISSED JUMPING!!!

In my not so humble opinion, you should do a tandem first and then make a decision about whether you want to continue or not. The DZ, wherever you go , will have all the gear you need for that and for AFF. After that your instructors will, and should be, your primary source of information. Let them guide you. I think what he was saying was that due to the total use of the bandwidth that the ISP thought that he was a warze site. Under the TOS, the burden of proof was with him. Also, the ISP was leary of the issue of copyrighted material finding its way on to the site and them being held liable for distribution. I haven't talked to him lately about it, but Dave always has a plan B. I just think that right now with all that's going on at Sikorski with the Camanche being cancelled, he's got a little more to worry about than the site. Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. No, stand up landings are not required for license and ratings. Only accuracy is considered. When I opt to slide, I place both feet an knees together, at an angle to the ground, hit heels first, then ease on to my butt. Take care to try not to stop the landing (the friction with the ground will do that for you) and just coast on in. It doesn't look cool, but it saves the knees. But beware, you still need to learn the proper flare technique. You will still thump in very hard if you miss your flare point. Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. Nope. I was talking to Dave the other day. He was saying that the ISP pulled the plug on it due to the bandwidth use busting the TOS. So the only way he can bring it back is to become an ISP. Not to start a post fight, but I think with the way you sit in the harness of a ram air, a PLF isn't practical. I know we've been teaching for a million years but the PLF doesn't take into account the forward speeds of the modern ram air. That is not to say that you can't do them, it is just that by doing them or being committed to them, you are banking on a technique that is adapted for something else. In my humble opinion, the PLF will induce an unwanted twisting motion that coinicides with the impact of landing. Not a good thing when dealing with a knee who's torsional stability is compromised. The slide, on the other hand, does account for the ground speed of the ram air. Just my .02 Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. They ring the bell and runaway... The basic rule on temps at altitude is a loss of 3 degrees F per 1000 ft. However, this can vary dramatically with the status of the weather.
