  1. Yep, my brother, under the influence of his wife, is doing the same thing. It makes it even more annoying to know that before her, he had rejected religion and all the superstition that goes with it. I got my brother to cease fire when I looked him dead in the eye and said: "I want you to know that I know that you know that I know that you don't know." He's been much more quiet since. Also, I find that the usenet group "alt.atheism" is a good source of knowledge, just don't get sucked in the the x-tains who come there to prosteltize. Good luck. 2. No, you can be sure that if it came to regulating skydiving, the FAA would just ban it out right rather than spend ANY money at all to regulate it. I have been told that by more than one FAA person. Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. They ring the bell and runaway... It really pisses him off. -The World Famous Tink. 3. Yep. Happens in Maryland all the time. In fact you can be in the can for five years for refusing a test. Somehow this has passed muster and is not self incrimination. 4. I was diagnosed with EIA when I was nine. As long as he has access to his inhalers and uses them prior to exercise, he should be OK. It would be a good idea to get him checked for general allergies as well. An undiagnosed allergy may (as it did in my case, with cats) greatly exacerbate the EIA. Don't be surprised if it turns out the he has a weird allergy, like wheat or gluten. It often hides as EIA. In general, the cooler and drier the air, the more EIA is triggered, also the type of activity is a factor. My case seems to be activated by sustained rhythmic movements. like running, static movements, like lifting weights doesn't seem to trigger it. As for jumping, my EIA has never been n issue for anything I've done in the sky. Good luck. Keep us posted. Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. They ring the bell and runaway... 5. So, how long before someone in the skydiving community starts working on doing that? I bet you can't do that with a Lightning. Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. 7. OK, wet blanket time. I watched the videos and thought that you need to consider that the forces involved would only be transmitted through the connection point on the harness and in an essentially symmetrical manner. In your sit video, you were administering the force through the reserve container. In the head down video, you removed the risers one at a time. Neither of these scenarios are likely in the field. Good food for thought though. Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. They ring the bell and runaway... It really pisses him off. -The World Famous Tink. (I never heard of you either!!) 8. And once the ADIZ becomes permanent, you can expect ALL GA air ports within it to close. Calls to the senate won't help either. Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. 12. Here's the latest entries on the list of things I want to do (in no particular order): 1. Go see Leno. 2. See a total eclipse. 3. Paraglide. 4. Jump at Perris. 5. Ski Tahoe. 6. See Australia. 7. Bike the Tour de France route. (Or just be in shape enough to do it.) 8. Eat sushi in Japan. 9. Retire from my job (gonna happen in 378 shifts
  13. OK, I don't know the specifics of the incident other than the thread in the forums. So, I can't speculate on the demise of the tandem passenger. However, I can give insight on the search operation. As a professional firefighter/paramedic, it would be highly unlikely that a group of untrained civilians who are associated with the incident would be allowed to participate in the body recovery. That being said, there would have been no reason to cancel the event. If I was an incident commander, I would never allow it. Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. They ring the bell and runaway...
