Howdy, Mandy! How is Elsinore treating you these days, after your Eloy sojourne? I like Elsinore. Tell Bryan Harrel I said "hello" if you get a chance. Chuckie

Well, Doctor, my choices off that list would have to be "dragon wagon" and "skydiver chalet." "Naughty Nest" would probably not suit you two, but it made me giggle when I thought of it. Chuckie

Lisa ain't a'feared to get nekkie. Nor am I for that matter.

Here at Raeford we use Motorola Spirit GT 2-way radios. They are very small, have incredible range and take a beating. We hang them unside-down on the chest strap so as to prevent the antenna from poking you in the chin on opening. Anyway, they work fantastic for 1-watt radios. Our ground Instructor carries a 5-watt Motorola Radius SP50+. All are multi-channel. On AFF jumps (and tandems on gusty days), one instructor (per AFF student) also carries one of the smaller ones in his jumpsuit "just in case." We generally make a call up to the student when we know the plane to be on jumprun to tell them "have a good jump. We then press the "push to talk" button on the student's radio and say "Hooty HOO!" No problem whatsoever with these radios. They are fantastic when you get that stray student who wants to land over on the otherside of the trees (or in them). They can call right back and tell you their condition while you are streaking over there to fetch them in the DZ truck (either "Blackie" or "Whitey"). Chuck

Ray, my brother, would you like some cheese with that whine? "let's put this mother in overdrive"

Michelle, make sure you guys buy a "proper" RV (like I know you will), or I will relegate you to parking out in the back lot near the MonkeyBago! Ah, the plantation grows! Me likey! Chuckie

I just noticed that my comrade, Tim (Yes, he's a skymonkey), posted. Very nice indeed. "it's ten o'clock in central Europe and I don't have any children to look after."

I stand corrected. Something must have been lost in the translation.

Hey, Kimmie, where do I get on that leg extension list? Even though I AM damn sexy, I could use another couple of inches (in height...) Chuckie

The first canopies I ever heard of getting H-modded were the Heatwaves that Joe Bennet and all the Georgia guys were jumping. It's a sound, inexpensive mod that will definitely make your canopy dive longer and increase your bottom end swoop distance (due to the increased speed acquired during that longer dive). Call Joe Bennet at Skydive Monroe and discuss it with him. The other option is to call Howard Adams directly. I don't have his number, but I am under the understanding that he is running a dropzone in northern Florida nowadays. Chuck

My ex-wife's new ParaFoil, on the other hand, blew in half the first time she took it to terminal (5th jump on a new canopy). Chuck

See, that is noteworthy!

I had a very long post put together, but deleted it because it was just a vent. Still, I will say that I think Geraldo is a typical lawyer-turned-reporter. Anything for the story, no matter how trivial that story may be. I have no respect for people that compromise people in the manner which he has shown. Screw him and those like him. Sensationalism be damned. Chuck

Yup! We were KILLING it that night!

LOL! But, alas, they are not SKYMONKEYS. Also of note is the fact that I have been jumping more than a decade longer than the most experienced X-keys "monkey". In all fairness, I have met them at X-keys and their popularity at their home dropzone does rival that of mine and the "mother" clan here at Raeford. Still, there is simply no comparison. Chuckie SM-1 Oh yeah: "McMonkey Nuggets!" That's funny!

Yeah, Doug needs to change his avatar to rid himself of the "bloated Freddie Mercury" comments. . He, in case you were wondering, does not look bloated in real life.

I think I managed 0:4:0 on Saturday. It rained cats and dogs all day Sunday. Of particular note was a very nice 6-way with myself, two guys from the Swiss 4-way team, DragonTail, MattM, and Droopy. Also of note were some very stylish downwind swoops through the course. Chuck

As for the night jumps: that is something we can technically accomplish, moon phase permitting, but like Kate said: do you really want to put off partying just for the sake of night jumping? I don't; not with Bob Steel playing on Saturday night. Weather? Never trust a forecast that far in advance. Also, please refrain from jinxing us. Chuck

That is a fairly substantial jump. Before you do a "double downsize", first ask yourself "why am I doing this?" If the answer is that you think you can get away with it, then you may want to reconsider. I will promise you that there is nothing you can do under the 129 that you could not accomplish under the 139. What you will give up, though, with the smaller canopy is length of swoop. What you get in return is a "faster feeling" canopy which is actually only diving at the ground faster, not going any faster forward. Don't buy that 129 unless you demo one first. Not just one jump either; I am talking at least a full weekend. With the large amount of demo canopies available from manufacturers (PD has a whopping 500 in their demo fleet), there is no reason not to try before you buy. Chuck

Quote3'4", 460 lbs. DUDE! Can I borrow your suit? Kris is coming next week and I think that may be a perfect fit! Chuck

Arthur, there were well over 20 people in that pool over the Holiday Boogie. You know that.

Or is he?....... I for one will not at all be surprised by any revelation of "real" ET contact, "back to the future" time travel, or any other science possibility. Chuck

There are plenty of dot-commers over at Z. Stacy, JumpnKramer, etc, to name a couple.
