  2. Hey Kimmie: If you are old enough to sit at the table, you are OLD ENOUGH TO EAT!! Happy birthday, Your older monkey-brother, Chuckie
  3. Kevin has plenty of jumps on his silver suit now.
  4. Stab what? The toggles? At any rate, I found Ray to be totally recognizable. T.B., on the other hand, I found to be "not a tall, black, fighter pilot." Though he refuses to change his avatar to a more suitable one, I still like him and his flocknig ability. Dude, change your damn avatar. ManBird, get a grip and don't be scared of approaching fellow skydivers. Chuck BM-I, good looking motherfucker, and general man about town.
  5. DVD? I don't have Duh VD!
  6. Go fast , take chances, and for god's sake don't wear a helmet.
  7. If the deployment device, in our case with all of our gear, both student and rental: BOC, then it's a partial malfunction and you execute full cutaway procedures (after attempting to clear the burble). The only time you go straight to the reserve is on a total. In our case that means that you either could not locate the handle in order to pull it, or htat you found it but could not get it pulled out of the pouch. 8. I talked to Joe yesterday; he is in Monroe. He will be in Panama City Beach starting Monday. Chuck
  9. Well, I have had two chops in a bit over 200 flights; both on canopies well under 100 square feet (75's). One thing that I found to be critical to successfully jumping a main that small with a wingsuit is line trim. No matter how perfect your body position, if your main is out of trim to one side, your chances of spinning up increase exponentially. That being said, the vectran lines on my Velocity 79 aren't prone to that, so I have had a brilliant time jumping it with my SF-3. Just because Jari mentioned it though: I have a Sabre 2 97 in PD team colors on the way just for BirdMan ops and higher elevation jumping. Since I have three rigs, I see no reason whatsoever not to have one setup and sewn in all the time. The Sabre 2 97 will be the main in that rig. Small enought to fit in the tiniest rig, swoop the piss out of, yet smarter than my Velocities in the opening department. Cheers to all, and I can't wait to see you in Panama City! Chuckie
  10. Dude, you got a birthday greeting from Mandy as well as my Katie Bear. Noice. Oh yeah, happy birthday, lip! Chuck
  11. "Looks like we got us the Josey Wales!" Your dad is the shit. Chuck
  12. Most of us on tour compete in clothing that will prevent friction burns from sliding in. Motocross pants are very popular, as are long-sleeve MX jerseys now. Both of my lower legs are totally covered in very-colorful tattoos, so losing skin REALLY pisses me off. MX pants have saves the sides of my lower legs quite a few times. Chuck
  13. Setting your brakes on the dropzone works fine IF you PRO pack. If you roll, stack, flop, whatever, then you don't set the brakes until late in the packjob (if you are smart). Just putting the tip of the toggle in the upper keeper will do fine for keeping your brakelines untwisted. That being said, I PRO pack and never set my brakes on the dropzone. I get the fuck out of the landing area so as not to create a hazard to fellow jumpers. You can bullshit with your brakes when you are out of harms way. Chuck
  14. Me. Oh wait, I'm in North Carolina.
  15. I don't have any problems whatsoever flying a Stilletto with a birdman suit, but then again, neither do I have a problem flying my Velocity 79 with my BirdMan suit. It's all about confidence in your ability to fly your suit and your canopy through the opening. Chuck
  16. Kramer used to be a roommate of mine when he was in the service here in North Carolina.
  17. Perry from Colorado? I jumped with him at Eloy over Christmas. CHuck
  18. go to the www.skydivemonroe.com and get the number. Joe Bennett runs the school there; he is the one who does the mod mostly. Chuck
  19. You are correct: you should have never started in the first place. Thankfully, having a mother who was an incessant smoker grossed me (and choked me) out so bad that neither me nor my sister would have ever contemplated taking up the habit. Suck it up, brother. Kick that habit and spend the money you save on something cool.
  20. You said the key word: target. I have had PLENTY of very qualified skydivers (RW competitors, freeflyers, other instructors) fall into the burble, take out my cameraman, or just plain run into me. The TM is ultimately responsible for the safety of his or her student, so allowing less-than-qualified friends and family accompany you is a true roll of the dice. Chuck
  21. Those are the same shirts I posted the ad for in Events and Gatherings. You can get them at SkyKAT, straight from Eric, or off Ebay. Chuck
  22. that pic is from the "old" gulf war.
