Actually, there are quite a few people on the boards who have ficticious avatars. That punk Lou Diamond is the WORSE for it! BWAHAHAHA! The dude that keeps putting Craig Girrard swoop pics cracks me up too, but that's besides the point. That punk, Lou Diamond, is a menace to society! Chuck Your friendly neighborhood moderator. Seriously though, PM me the person's username and I will check it out for you.

Anyone who likes both freeflying and RW
SkymonkeyONE replied to rendezvous's topic in Safety and Training
I have done an awful lot of different things in this sport, sort of out of neccessity. I would get very good at one thing then get totally bored, so I had to find something else to do to keep from quitting the sport altogether. That being said, I have instructed all my life, been a 12.5 4-way competitor (in 1990, back when that meant something), made about 200 skysurf jumps on a board of my design (because they didn't make them in 1990), have over 200 wingsuit flights, made a bunch of sit-suit jumps when that was cool, and have absolutely no problem flying on any axis (even in a bootie suit. Ask Kris). While I may not be the "best" at any of the things I do, I can certainly hold my own in any discipline. Still, as has been previously posted in this thread, you ought to get "good" at one thing before you step into another arena. I have never lost my ability to do good 4 and 8-way RW, nor the ability to swoop down to a 60-way. The fact that I teach and haul meat more nowadays does not hurt that. Likewise, jumping a 370 square foot Sigma tandem main does not hamper my rear-riser swoops on my two Velocities. Get that base skill-set and you will always have it. Quit a discipline before you have the requisite skills and you are going to suffer for the rest of your jumping carreer and never have the "name" it takes to get on decent loads. Having a name, even though you might be well out of what some people call "current" and you will generally be able to get onto and excell much more. That was sort of rambling, but its the best I could do in a hurry. Chuck -
Think I don't? Here it is, The RedBone Express.

Well, as the Rantoul meet will now be the US team qualifying "nationals" for canopy piloting (unless something very radical changes at the next board meeting), I am definitely now going to be there. I will fly into Champaign and need rides both ways. It's too early to commit, I know, but just keep it in mind that SkyONE needs a ride. Later, Chuckie

Much flatter and smoother backflying by you, Scott, in the second segment. Still, you ought to de-arch some more and punch it out. You can see that Kevin had his feet on his ass for the majority of the flights. Try putting a faster, more efficient, belly to earth flyer up front with the camera facing to the rear. Fly some tight diamonds like that and work on flying with clean wings and lots more forward speed as a group. Still, the video was cool and it's great that you guys are jumping together so often. With your SkyFlyer you ought not have any problem keeping up when Kevin points his toes. Later, monkey lips! Chuckie

That appears to be Craig Girrard in the avatar. -
I have zero interest in soccer. I would say Pele has the most name recognition worldwide, even though he is retired.

See, that's a good pic, LeRoy.

MonkeyLip did, indeed, take a sea bath under his main! NOICE! I watched the whole thing from my 4th floor balcony. Life did not suck in PCB. No monkey names were awarded. The only "hats" on the premesis were mine and Jack Ceman's. Derek has one, but Pat normally wears it and it was not there. As to the results, a short list can be found in the swoop forum. I did OK (mid pack), but am totally not bitching. Most repeated phrase at the meet: "We are not sucking."

We are the shiznit, aren't we? Life does not suck at Raeford. Chuck

wipe, check, drop. wipe, check, drop. Over and over till it's clean. This, of course leads to anal fissures (like Howard Stern joked about in his book and movie), but it's got to be done. Chuck

I don't think there is a doubt in anyones mind that I kick it hard. This was an epic event. -
Ted, when I divorced I put my very-expensive wedding ring on the keychain of my very-expensive chopper. I figure I have had it long enough that it's the one thing I own that deserves to wear it. I saw no reason to throw it away, but I know many other people think the object is forever bonded with the person or event it was originally meant for. Just my thoughts. Chuck

Try going eight days! Holy shit! Guess I will get to it tomorrow. Chuck

Call or PM me, Tango, and I will tell you what I would do. No need to clutter the talkback forum with technical stuff. There might be boobie pics or mindless political rhetoric to post. Chuckie
-
Uh, why don't you post a picture of your REAL bike. Doing otherwise, when you clearly have something different, is perpetrating a fraud in my opinion, but that's just me. It's not like your bike isn't nice, so just post a pic of it instead. Chuckie

SkymonkeyONE replied to ramon's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
No SHIT! Oh my god. I just got back and I have to say that this truly was the best week of skydiving and partying with my best friends that I have ever had. Seriously, it was righteous. I will attempt to put my thoughts all together in an article for the pub or somewhere later, but for now am just happy to be home. There was some outstanding swooping going on down there, that's for sure. My boy Ramon did outstanding in his first PST outing. Both Danny Koons and Mike Meyers will certainly qualify for pro before Rantoul. They threw some incredibly clean turns and exhibited perfect rear-riser technique. Me? This is just from memory, but I think I finished 23rd overall in the pros. It was certainly not my best meet, but you know what, I could give a shit less. I had the BEST time. "We are not sucking" was my favorite phrase for the week. It was absolutely fantastic seeing all my old touring friends and meeting the new, young guns. The vibe among the participants was incredible and there was plenty of boogie jumping to get in on if that was your interest. The only shortfall of the entire time was the incredibly rude attitude of the bounce staff at The Spinnaker, our base of operations. Like I said, I will write much more later and tell you what parts of it are repeatable in this electronic forum. Believe me when I tell you it was off the hook. Cheers and much love to all, Chuckie -
Most people I know, including myself, now have them on the front of the left thigh. A couple of people have them sewn on the center portion of their suit, right above the cock. Chuck
-
Well, I can now confirm that I will be at Rantoul, at least for the swoop meet. See you there. Chuck

Oh man! This was a lifetime ago (1982-mid 1984), but I had a Eurail Pass when I was stationed in Germany. Let me tell you, I went EVERYWHERE on that thing. It was great. Actually, it was even better for me because since I was under 21 I qualified for a Junior Pass. I paid 120 Marks for the thing and ever one of my tickets was half price. Very, very nice. Chuck

I liked Pure Country, but you are right. our boy's acting is a bit weak. Chuck

Hmm. That's funny. I have never given a second thought to being what you clearly believe to be "short." I am five-seven, but used to be five-eight. Scoleosis and carrying a 100 pound rucksack for 20 years did that to me. Concerning skydiving or any other "extreme" sport as as way around my supposed shortcoming in my ability to attact a female mate: you are totally off track. Being tall, at least in my very-wide circles, doesn't give you a hint of a better chance of getting laid than I have. I have dated girls as tall as six foot two and as short as four foot eight; none considered height an issue, nor has it ever been an issue with me. Still, I have been utterly disturbed by the amount of tiny little girls who attach themselves to guys well over six feet tall. The basic mechanics of sex with that big a height difference is daunting. Edited to add that I don't see how this has anything to do with "general skydiving." I am moving this post to talkback right now. Chuck

Huh? Hit refresh again. While the monkey is very cool, it doesn't look a lot like me.
