Tandem bounty or not bringing business to the dz is a good way to make nice with the DZO. On the flip side bringing fat smelly male tandem students that are an ounce or two below the weight limit is a good way to make frenemies with your local tandem instructors. For some reason I hate that term. I keep getting these young tandem students that say its on their bucket list. Do you have a terminal disease? No Are you Morgan Freeman? No They why the hell does a twenty year old kid have a "bucket list". "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Where can I get one!!! Can I use it on a strong? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Fantastic, the blind leading the blind. When your done advising over here maybe you can head over to the two instructors forums, I am sure we could use some insight on lots of things. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

If you know how to side slide and orbit on purpose, then you know how to stop a side sliding orbit that you don't want to happen. Got a tunnel nearby? That will be the quickest fix. It may be a jumpsuit or a rig issue, but honestly unless half your jumpsuit blew open you should be correcting those sort of things almost subconsciously, but that comes with more flying time. Perfect example is an experienced tandem master that can keep nice and smooth and on heading despite having a bucking bad body position student on the front! I was pushed a new Flash player update from the Corporate IT powers that be, yippee. Previously they locked down the local storage options on the Flash player in IE that kept Pandora from working. You could use Chrome and it worked just fine. Something in the new settings disabled the Flash and Shockwave in Chrome. But now Flash works again in IE, and you can once again use Pandora in IE. Damn that sucks! Well, at least you won't be in CT!! I don't know dick about any of those DZ's that are enroute. But, I grew up in NJ and lived there until I chased a girlfriend up to University of Connecticut about 10 years ago. Where in NJ are you moving to? I just noticed this gem! Don't do this! Have it inspected by your rigger, he can speak to its condition. If it is in trim, isn't ragged out, never been wet, then it will fly like every other canopy of the same make and size. Making your canopy available for demos is a good way to get it chopped and lost, or have it pick up additional damage from sloppy packing that will make it harder to sell. Plus, if it isn't on a set of risers you are going to need to count on proper assembly on a set of risers by any potential buyer that wants to demo. Hooked up wrong could get it chopped and lost in a tree! Sounds like a terrible idea, almost as bad as renting out your gear when your not a dzo. Let them demo a canopy from the canopy manufacturers. Get a canopy card, or make one out of cardboard. These keep the lines organized between left and right risers, and front and rear. There is also two more spot for the brake lines. Don't take the lines off of the links or slinks. In my opinion those go with the canopy. If you sell a canopy with no links because you're a cheap ass, at least put them on bread bag twist ties or small zip ties to keep them in an organized fashion. The should be in the same order as they came off the risers. A buyer should do a four line check, but it is nice not to have to undo everything because they are all out of order. If the canopy has rapide links be careful for any sharp burrs on the links, you don't want to damage the riser webbing, or the lines. Finally if you send the canopy with all of the lines everywhere, all tangled up and out of sorts, you are a dick! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

I found the video while searching for a DZ near Stone Harbor NJ. Can't find a real website for any DZ's Cape May. Does anyone know if that is a seasonal DZ that one of the bigger places runs? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Digging up old dirt that was already discussed? Sorry if this is a rehash, that wouldn't surprise me, the video edit is a bit dated. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_hQq-TYV80 Wait for it... I sometimes wonder about the stoooopid shit the people do on student jumps, and then the fact that it gets past the video editor and out the door!!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Hooking up for take off. Good idea? Bad idea?
DougH replied to rustywardlow's topic in Tandem Skydiving
IMHO part of the boarding instruction should involve showing them their seat belt, hooking it to the MLW on the tandem harness where they can get to it, and instructing them on how they open and remove it in case of an emergency. It takes all of 10 seconds "This is your seat belt, we wear that until we are at an altitude that we can hook up and jump in the case of an emergency, you remove it like this *click click*" "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P -
Re: [masterrigger1] Hard Opening Incident-DeLand 5/25/2013
DougH replied to JohnSherman's topic in Gear and Rigging
No, that is when we need the rubber bands to do their job - provide some resistance. That was my thought exactly. I have a icon d-bag that has outboard tape for stow bands. I use micro-line tube stows, and my bites are not especially large. I should be having line dump on every opening, because I am certainly unbalanced, with a ratio of more like 40 bites to 60 between the stow bands. But it seems to work pretty well with the HMA lines, and my openings thus far, knock on wood, have never been hard. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P -

I thought it was the only rig that came stock with it's own vagina? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P -
You need to be careful with those. The Fair Isaac model is proprietary. Other institutions may have their own models they use that may or may not track the Fair Isaac. Plus they may have different scoring scales. It's tough to know which model they are using unless it expressly says Fair Isaac or FICO. FICO is the only one a lender is going to use. myfico.com is Fair Isaac, so it will pull you real FICO reports from two of the three agencies, unlike the fako report you get from a monthly monitoring service, or credit karma. They also have a very knowledgeable forum which has topics on things like this where you negotiate a PFD, pay for delete, or sending goodwill letters requesting negatives being dropped from your report. 182 Observer rides concern me: no seat, easy access to the door, they should have a PEP but could easily take down the whole plane with it. It get even sketchier when your start putting them in the plane with a student rig that happened to be lying around!!! The ?Dawynesburg? suicide incident alone should be a good indicator of just one of the risks. On the other hand my grandfather got to fly right seat at an awesome VA dz when my collegiate skydiving team stopped midweek on a trip back from FL a few years back. This was a perfect example of the good side of observer rides. He got briefed by the pilot, had a real seat and restraints. Got on and off with the pilot so no prop strike risk. Got a headset and really got to feel like part of the happenings! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

My wife and my kids had to check on me because I was laughing so loudly. "If this was the place to do bicep curls it would be called the rest of the gym." This guy is hilarious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=UJRoyzODlhM&NR=1 "There is nothing wrong with drinking wine, as long as your OK with growing a clit where your penis used to be" LOL!! Douches will be douches. I am pretty sure after he finished his curls he sat and mentally masterbated infront of the mirror walls for a while. There are way too many people at the gym that act in an aggravating manner! People using the wrong equipment or areas like you mentioned. The Jersey Shore juice crowd that can't stop making love to their reflection. Frat boy extreme that needs to scream, ***wwwwwwwwhhhhhatttttt* on every rep. I should try to be less bothered by people, but some of this shit is seriously annoying! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

CPI is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Their otter is here now for the season. Great club, cool people. They may be open more days right now, don't know for sure as I am a bit out of the loop. On Fridays they fly the otter a minimum of 5 loads. Skydive Danielson where I toss drogues on the weekend is open seven days a week if they have enough fun jumpers to put up loads, or if there are tandems booked. It is a Cessna 182 dropzone, also a very cool place. New owners this year, Rob and Laura Morris who used to manage Skydive Midwest. If there is great weather on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday they are going to be your best bet, they will have tandem loads going up, and fun jumpers playing hookey from work. Where in Hartford are you going to be staying? I work downtown, could probably meet up with you for a beer around lunch time, or a bite to eat before I commute home for the day. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

I get mine processed same day, because I am a bubble head and normally procrastinate on getting it done until the Friday before the weekend that I actually need it done by. Pretty cool when they email it back in an hour or two. I am happy to pay the expedite fee, it is a procrastinator tax and a business expense, but I should just send it in earlier next time. I wonder about that shutter close? Either way I have a filter on mine, I am to clumsy and don't want to wreck the glass. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
