Agree. She didn't make a threat, so her behavior should have no government sanctions. That being said, freedom of speech should pertain to the governments reaction to that speech only. I think other private citizens and private businesses should act accordingly (excluding threats or violence) based on how they view her actions. Equally ignorant and despicable. Two wrongs don't make a right. But honestly, both examples are protected as free speech, as they should be. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Through handicam alone GoPro's will have inertial. These bullet style camera don't work well and handicam cameras. I would get one for outside video, but the DZ editor is also editing footage from handicam GoPro video and I don't want to mix footage types. That isn't how the tax code works, but the giving it to the local DZ is a nice idea. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

You consistently are able to shut down your tandems and stand up your landings on no wind days with big passengers? Not trying to be snarky here, serious question. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

That looks stained or discolored not faded, especially when you consider that this was a white spandex panel before. Do you have bad water at your house? Either that or other parts of the suit bled color and the spandex panels picked it up. I don't have white on my suits but I have forest green, purple, and lighter sliver supplex. I use Shout color catchers for the off changes that another part of the suit bled. I don't really think it is on the suit maker either. Backwards loaded the collins lanyard through the Skyhook. Damn. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

But that is it in a nutshell. The more steps in a procedure the more potential for error. Experience matters, but we know that extremely experience people fuck up, humans are inherently error prone. That is the same reason why tandems are not a regular skydive, bigger decision tree, more opportunity for error. Standard single sided RSL has less steps, and is therefore inherently safer in regards to user error. Period. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

That looks pretty nice. Looks like Chris redesigned the mount to raise the lower camera up further. Hard to tell side by side without both setups side by side, but it looks like the lens on the lower session is the same equivalent distance from your wrist as my Gopro 3+ pivot pad setup. My 3+'s are still going strong, along with my original pivot pad, but this could be a future upgrade/tax write-off. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Yes, any system can be mis-routed or more appropriately mis-rigged. Any system can also be mis-used, good old user error. They are both very important characteristics of a component of a life saving system like a parachute. BUT, you should separate the two as two distinct characteristics. The racer double sided RSL has much more probability of fatal user error in a two out scenario than any other MARD, standard RSL, or no RSL. You like the Racer system, great, I hope so since you work there. But I think the statements are misleading. The double sided RSL is dangerous simply because it has more user failure modes. We know that people frequently fuck up under pressure, so the less ways that are possible for them to do so the better! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Later today I will post up the brace I started wearing after I got a bimalleolar fracture fracture (tib fib) when my foot caught while sliding in a tandem landing. Just can't remember the name of it right now. It has rigid plastic support to give lateral support, but it hinged and doesn't limit you with plantar and dorsal flexion. I think it is targeting the basketball market. I have been pretty happy with it. It is comfortable, easy to put on, and you don't really notice it during use. New Causal Chat Episodes are up on YouTube!
DougH replied to BrianSGermain's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hey Brian, are the facebook live videos you post from this series a play back of previous recordings? Just wondering, I was watching your chat with Norman Kent last night, and some of the Q&A didn't seem to sync up with the activity in the facebook live comments. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P -
If you are jumping from anything other than a 182 on a hop and pop the answer should be maintain awareness and actively manage landing pattern entrance time/separation. Hop and pops, or dedicated high pulls are great times to have fun, practice drill. But with a full load of other jumpers in the air after a skydive you need to focus on the business of making landing as safe as possible for yourself and the other jumpers. Your poll questions convey that you may not fully grasp that. Racing a larger canopy down through the entrance order because you're are bored of the slow decent would be one example of piss poor canopy planning and flight. Skate shoes. I used to do tandems with cross trainers. I think it partially led to my tib-fib on an otherwise decent tandem landing. Now I think it is more important to have shoes that slide better, and are less likely to catch on landing area imperfections, than to have the extra ankle support. If I want additional ankle support I wear an ankle brace. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Was the UT-15 what I hear sometimes referred to as a Jumbo PC? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

It fits well with the increasing lack of civility from all sides. People are less informed, less principled, less open to countervailing opinions. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

I wouldn't kick her out of bed for eating crackers. I am guessing she thought she could climb back up but once she was on the crane hook she realized it was a one way ticket! I doubt the plan was once I get here I have to get rescued. I don't get the lack of camera though, unless she tossed it to a friend after she realized that she fucked up! The commentary after that link was posted gives me confidence in my choice to NOT click that link, AT WORK!!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Utah man initially denied lung transplant over pot use dies
DougH replied to BIGUN's topic in Speakers Corner
Sounds like it needs an upgrade to really cover their bases. No adventure athletes, give it to the risk adverse. No poor people, bad return on investment. No people with infertility issues. No people below X IQ. He waited on this list like everyone else, while others who use legal substances have no barrier to entry outside of excessive alcohol use or smoking. Medical policies should be based around medical research and reasons. If pot use made this guy more likely to reject the organ, or have complications with surgery then there would be a justification that I could make peace with. The prohibition of marijuana is 100% political. That makes it a pretty bullshit reason to kick someone off a transplant list. "RW: Like we were on a park bench. Yeah it was pretty, it was pretty surreal. I mean it's funny cause you're 150 feet in air, and I said to her “Wow, we’ve got a nice view here”. She said “Yeah, it is nice”. I said, “You’ve got your camera? We should take a picture.” She said “No, I don’t”. I said “Aw, I didn’t bring mine either" "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

They do it based on some preset value. In general open canopy flight on a moderate loaded canopy won't see off freefall alarms, but front riser turns or harness turns will. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
-
I saw that myself. I am hoping this will be addressed on a future update. I have to imagine this is possible, since the alarms aren't going off as you climb to altitude. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

At that price I will bite. Especially now that all L&B service is running through SSK. These are in stock now correct? Confirm and I will hit add to cart. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
