I was think less of ground speed, and more of an increase in glide path. I guess I need to break out Brian's book again.

I find that really strange? Do you have standard riser lengths, or lengthened brake lines? I have been able to stall every canopy I have flown. Some just took longer in max toggle to stall. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

The 210 jumped from AFF 1, till about jump 20 stalled just fine on toggles. It also spun up real nice when I let the toggles back up unevenly. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

You already have your mind made up then. I will bring up one more thing to consider, and then I will let it be. After all there are some people in this thread that I respect as some of the most knowledgeable skydivers out there, so my opinion pales in comparison. Canopy collisions can be just as dangerous as freefall collisions. You said that you lack tracking ability and that it is something you need to work on. Every sky dive you need to track as hard as you can. Not just for your safety but for every one else on the jump. You aren't giving the best track that you can give if you already track sub par, and you are adding something like a barrel roll. I know I have 100's of jumps to go on my track as well. You loose a crucial moment of awarness while performing your barrel roll. If some one pulls below you then you barely have a split second to react. You just lost any chance if this occurs while you barrel rolling. Edit: could you please give us the courtesy of filling out your jumping profile. How much do you think a barrel roll is going to protect you? Does the added protect outweigh the protection you get from looking down? Ok so you see some one above you, and you deviate your course. Are you going to barrel roll again? What if the other jumper saw you and already deviated his course, good chance you will track back under him. Do you wait for the other person to pull...??? I try and protect myself by jumping with people that I know are reliable come break off time, and having a clear break off plan. I am more worried that some one will track under me, than the chance that some one will get over top of me from my own group. I give a good healthy wave off too. Suicidal college walkers!!!! They dart into the cross walks without looking for oncoming cars. They wait till they walk almost past the cross walk and then do a juke move worthy of a NFL running, and jump in front of your car!!! I don't want to hit you, so why don't you give some hints that you want to cross the street. Maybe some eyecontact, or even a pause before you try to dive under my rear tires!!!!! People who don't realize that they occupy space in the universe, and based on this fact they are indeed able to get in other peoples ways. This pertains to people that refuse to stay right except to pass on the highway!!! Just because you are doing 65 doesn't mean you should park in the left lane. It is rude and inconsiderate. Pass on the left, then move over to the right. People who stop infront of door ways or entrances. Some common sense please, if you are infront of a doorway other people can't get in or get out. People who will stop in the middle of the hallway of a building and strike up a conversation. Fact: Human beings don't have eyes in the back of their heads!! What additional proof do you need? When ever you take your eyes off of what is below you then you lose the ability see it!!! You can't see below you if you're on your back in the middle of a barrel roll looking up!!! I have heard from plenty of people that have seen a wave off from above and had to react, proof that it pays to look down!! I would rather ALL the other people on my skydives concentrate on looking down. I would argue that the highman has more options to avoid. My home dz is only open 2/3rds of the year. March 31 is the first day of the DZ being open, so that is our saftey day. We don't start jumping until the activites are done, which is fine since the dz isn't even open yet. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Unless you are super low you shouldn't be more than a second off from the rest of your group. You still end up breaking off right around the same time. If you get so low that you have seconds between you and your group then maybe you need to consider doing much easier skydives, or ditching the speed suit!!! I was just thinking that depending on how deep you are over the trees having the wind partially at you back could further improve your glide with the right inputs. If I was a regular jumper at the DZ I would try to my fullest to get him or her grounded unless they changed their bad habits. I move out from under the formation, and try my ass off the get up to them. I wait till the break off alt. we previously decided on to start my track so the other jumpers can have a better idea in the direction I tracked in, and then I suck it down. No it doesn't. In nature the weak can't get enough food for their kids, can't out run the lion, etc. They die, they don't have offspring, or their offspring don't survive. Their genes then leave the gene pool for good. In todays society we don't let the weak die off. People who can't afford to feed and clothe one kid have six of them and live off a welfare.
