I have always wondered about that. What are the similarities between the pilot and the hornet? Maybe some one for Aerodyne can share that info? I am really starting to get bit my the RW bug. I have been doing more four ways lately and it has been going pretty well (despite hosing and exit or two from the C-182 strut). So are there any books out there that give tips on organizing relative work dives. My flying is really starting to progress but I really lack experince with different formations. Luckily I have some other more experinced people that I jump with who come up with dive flows, because when I do it is sounds like this.... "Left hand donut, right hand donut... ummmmm well that is all I know the name of" Edit: It seems like I should have followed up in the glossary post since this is such a similar topic!! Internet forums seem to attract all types of retards!!! The offroading forum I moderate for attracts similar idiots, but they are talking about cars instead of parachutes. A coin analogy??? If you mix up coins you may loose a full cents, if you mix things up with your rig you may loose your life!!! Sky diving equipment isn't very complicated, but there are still a lot of important details you need to focus on. Don't forget to check the pins before you open the door on jump run. Especially in a small plane like a 182 when you are leaning against the plane bulkhead, and moving around bumping your rig against stuff. You are lucky that your friend noticed since there is a good chance that he wouldn't have noticed!!! As was mentioned you probably knocked the pin loose while monkying around in the plane. Just checking before you board is not enough. PIN CHECK!!!!!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Leg awareness is hard. It took me a while for it to click as well, and it is something that I still have the constantly work on. What helped for me in the beginning was having some one push against my legs while I was simulating an arch during groud prep. I was able to get some feel of where my legs should be, and what the pressure on them should feel like. A wind tunnel might also help if you find yourself stuck. The vectorII I jumped as a student was pretty crappy. If I did more than one flip I could feel the reserve flap come undone and then smack me in the neck for the rest of the just. Riser covers might as well have been cut off. But she did me proud and I would still jump her!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P -

Personally I would not land a line over. I might try to unstow the brakes and get it to clear, but there is no way I am going to try to bring her to final. It might have a much higher descent rate then normal at you might not be able to tell this until to late to chop. It might stall when you flare for landing, dropping you on your arse!! I could take any language I want, besides english. But I have to take a full four semester if I do that. They don't offer classes at times that a real working person can take, which means I would almost have to take an additional two years off my life to complete 16 credits!!!
