Me too. I tried to wave my language requirement based on a legit learning disability. My previous University was cool with that. I have a documented history of doing real poorly if foreign languages despite studying my ass off. My new university told me to fuck off, and now I am screwed. Not really.I am more scared of myself then I am heights. My aunt and uncle own an apartment high up in NYC. As a kid I would often hang over the balcony and contemplate jumping off to see how it would feel. I get the same way around cliffs, the thought pops up, and I give myself the willies. Devils advocate... Why do you need to have 1000 jumps in order to teach things like exit seperation, proper gear checks, replacing you closing loop, conservative canopy advice, feet out, and so forth? What is better for the student? Having no one to jump with at jump 14 because the instructors are all busy doing AFF or hauling meat, Having some one with 150 jumps and a coach who may lack experince, but can provide a stable base who can fall down the tube for the student. In the manual it states that you can change the dive type to student mode -stu ... and that will help it detect short freefalls. I always seem to be taking a good delay on my low jumps so it hasn't been a problem. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

What does this have to do with the system? I may have a big mouth and like to talk about skydiving a lot, I will admit that I can be a loud mouth 100 jump wonder. But when people with more experince talk, I shut up and listen. And when it comes to the saftey of my gear I don't screw around either. This system taught me well? Don't worry you will have plenty of fun with any of the more conservative canopies listed above. If you start getting bored I would argue that you aren't flying them hard enough. My Pilot is tons of fun, but it is also very docile when I don't want to push it.

I did just one. I loved every minute of it. I didn't feel that I had much sensory overload so I turned down the idea of another "training" tandem. My tandem instructor did an excellent job, I did a good deal of canopy control, and I helped land as well. He was also big, burly, and bearded; so I was glad to get him off my back. USPA up is July.... One club was 30 dollars for first time reg. One club is going to be 50. And I think another club may run me around 85. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P -

Why don't you answer the question instead of trying to avoid it? All similarities between a wrist mounted altimeter, and a wrist mounted mirror end with your wrist. So do tell, do you use a mirror to look for traffic when you skydive, or are you simply making new techniques up as you type?
