  1. While I agree with you Gabor, primarily I would like it to fly more relative to the Lightnings. I am going to try to see how it flies relative to the other canopies for a handful of jumps first. I had read a few things that said they were not well matched, but listening to some of these responses makes me think that might be overstated. I use front riser input on all of my landings any way so I don't think the links in the front will be a big deal, I am retrimming it more nose down for landing with my hands either way.
  2. I tried to get my Cardinal Puff this summer, due to my 5 second memory span I failed, but I kept trying all night long. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  3. Funny you mention that. I did my first jump on a lightning last weekend. I have heard all the hype about landing like crap, and I have seen some people pound them in with my own eyes. I thought it landed great and I even got it to plane out for a little surf. I was told by the owner that his landed nicely compared to other ones though. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  4. That is funny, I never heard that chant before at CPI. Have all the old timers been going easy on us? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  5. Hey folks... I haven't had any luck in my search for the mythical amazingly priced used 143 lightning. I was looking for a wingsuit and general purpose canopy and ended up with a great deal on a Hybrid Tri... thanks JJ! I know the Tri is going to sink a lot compared to my buddies lightnings because of the trim. Has any one ever tried adding an extra link to the front risers to level it out a bit? I bet some one out there has tried it, so it would be nice to hear if they left a huge divot in the ground before I become a test jumper! Blues! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  6. So what your saying is we shouldn't swoop your jeep??!! Other than involving magnets and metal I really don't see how this is relevant. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  7. Let them sue you. Patents like that are bullshit. Ooops, sorry I forgot I am not in SC... "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  8. That is pretty slick. Thank you for sharing!
  9. I recently saw a product made by a "certain helmet company". It used magnets and attatched to a "certain flap" on a container. It might be a ?prototype?, but I thought it was pretty slick. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  10. Out of curiousity, why would you jump a lightning loaded at 1.7. Sounds awful high for most CRW? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  11. Never before have truer words been spoken! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

  13. I hear you Billy. I was packing up my camera gear yesterday when one landed on my face and stung me in the corner of my eye! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  14. Who the hell do you think you are talking to? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  15. Sweet! All we need now is a pill for SC posters who post like they have had their Wheaties pissed in on a daily basis. ***Edited to add a smiley*** "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  16. No they exist. They are just playing different cards that they hold. They scratch the reporters back, down the road the reporter licks their balls. Some may be trying to stockpile some favors, some may be playing office politics and trying to get a superior caught with his pants down, others are just assholes. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  17. Welcome to the real world. People have agendas and motivations that don't allways match the team game plan. This is a little white lie compared to the other things that people in [insert department or agency here] do while carrying a badge in their pockets. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  18. I agree, ZeroP canopies have been around long enough that plenty of good deals are out there. I have bought three good ZeroP canopies for average of 300 per canopy over the past three years. Another consideration is that a ZeroP canopy will hold its value better when you want to get something new down the road. Yes I know there is nothing wrong with a properly loaded F111 canopy that isn't worn out, I just wouldn't pay much to buy one. When you factor in the effort and or money to follow through with the suggested test jumps and looks under the hood then it really doesn't make much sense. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  19. I am sure the kids don't notice or mind, but why not a castle? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  20. I just lost the nice benchmade knife that came with my Icon last weekend. Yay! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

    Sex & First Date

If I am interested in a relationship, then definetly no... I found that often girls will get strange after sex on the first date, even if it is an awesome date and a lot of good sex. I don't know why but it is 9/10 a disaster afterwards. But waiting just one more date doesn't end up like that? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  23. Flying into the wind gives give you a higher “air speed” but a lower “ground speed” If you fly with the wind you will have the same “air speed” and an increased “ground speed”. Sparky http://www.aerospaceweb.org/question/instruments/q0210.shtml I think you may have misread what I wrote Sparky. If you take a take two canopies, lets say a 210 SabreII, identical aside from wingloading, the canopy with the higher wingloading will have a higher airspeed than the canopy with the lower wingloading. That will give it greater penetration over the ground when flying into the wind. Each individual canopy has the same airspeed regardless of being cross wind, down wind, or into the wind. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, allways nice to revisit what you think you know. That wasn't your original question but since that is your concern you should figure out what type of turbulence you are dealing with. So are the winds gusty, or they steady and strong? I wonder if you are encountering mechanical turbulence from that strong wind blowing over objects and such near the field. Best way to deal with that is to identify where it can happen and avoid it.
