Lookie here boys, WHERE THE WHITE WOMEN AT? As we see Gimpy on top of the town wall... "Hey, the new sheriff is a n "Oh, the new sheriff is near!" Strange how some folks can have an emotional argument but when asked to present a rational response to the gut reaction...they can't. I can't find anywhere that Obama has spoken against America as a country, only negative comments about failed American government.

You obviously don't know Mike. Chuck wins it, IMO. My variation: M-You wanna do a rodeo? G-Yeah, I'd love to see a bull ride you.

Howard's post pretty much nailed it. I dunno how these guys get away with it. Maybe they're far enough under the radar... or they're far enough back in the que.

Sounds very much like a bootleg/pirate DVD. If it doesn't have the DVD logo on it, if it is a "name" movie and looks bad, it probably is a pirate. Additionally, if it's a name movie, it should be regionalized. What movie is it?

PM-So, ahhh....ya wanna party? Her-"only if I can leave bite marks"

Curious...does the ignoring of others begin before, or after you tell em' to kindly fuck off? Just asking.... t'is a small world out there...and the ground isn't any softer no matter where you skydive.

Top mount is better for your neck/back on deployment. No reason for discussion there. The111 is one of the more successful camera flyers out there, BTW...I'd listen. Top mounts offer more helmet options, too. Topmounts offer a better balance option which aids in flying, and in deployment. Riser strikes are by far more common in side mounts, but that doesn't mean you'll always have em'. They do happen. More with some guys than others. The size of your camera, size of your head, size of your camera box all are factors. Sidemounts also somewhat limit your available camera options too. Side mounts are generally cheaper. Side mounts are arguably better for those mostly interested in freeflying. Topmounts are better for competition, tandem. Commercial work, topmount is the ONLY way to fly, IMO. Or, just take Matt's comment. "Top mount" =[edited to add...2K isn't much for a good helmet. Matt's helmet for instance, would run you around 3K for the helmet alone, then you start adding mounts, nuts, bolts, screws, HypEye, etc. Yeah...just the fibreglass and fit would run you 3K.

They are???????????? NFW!!!!!!! Citation, please?

In theory, absolutely and expectedly. In practice, I'm not seeing the same thing.

Pros-great video, ease of use, low cost Cons-AVCHD is hard for older computers and Final Cut Pro/Studio. Can't comment on the FF3. Not a fan.

Hard Drive=HDD (Hard Disk Drive) No cigar for you.

And did very well. If you can teach me to fly a wingsuit as well as you, I'll teach you every bit of technical bullshit you ever wanted to know about HD. Buy my book. Or, gimme a coupla jump tix.

Gawd, I love this discussion. Nothing "technical" about HDV being "true" HD. It is. So is AVCHD. Both are consumer/prosumer grades. The line gets REALLY blurred here, because both of them are MPEG-based formats. This means they have a sample scheme of 4:2:0. For the work *you* do (pulling keys, plates, etc) 4:2:0 can be challenging if not lit exactly right. Most of your source is probably 4:2:2 or 4:4:4, or even 3:1:1. Which is indeed, a higher quality chroma sample than HDV. However.... The ATSC spec is 1920 x 1080 or 1280 x 720 displayed frame size. Pixel aspect, chroma sample, compression do not figure into any aspect of the HD definition. Anywhere. Whether talking acquisition or deliver. This exact same argument took place when Beta SP ruled the world and DV came along. Purists said DV would never be pro, never be true-broadcast, and wasn't professional. Well..the proof is in the putting, and today, easily 60% of what is on television is DV. The differences aren't found nearly as much in the compression as in the sensors or glass. HDV can have sensors ranging from .6 to 1" in size. XDCAM HD has .5 and .66 sensors. Both use MPEG 2 compression. here's a fun measurebation argument... Panasonic HVX200 has 960 x 540 imager. They upsample vertically and horizontally to generate a 1280 x 720 image. They use a color sample of 4:2:2. Sony Z7 has a 1920 x 1080 imager block. It resamples to create a 1440 x 1080 image. They use a 4:2:0 color sample. Whose frame has the greatest color data/sample content? Both are HD by definition. Bottom line is that the glass, sensor block make a significantly greater difference between "pro-level" and "consumer-level" camcorders in today's world. Anything that displays a 1920 x 1080 or 1280 x 720 image is indeed, HD. Including those POS Sanyo Xacti's and similar cameras. BTW, AVCHD is the new standard for Panasonic, except they're calling it AVC-Intra. They're cranking the datarate, hoping to offset the losses of compression. IMO, image looks like shit, and if you think it's hard to pull a plate from HDV...wait'll you play with AVC-I, not to mention the decode time and CPU load. So....you're using the word "technical" to define what is/isn't HD, when in truth, the point is that you're used to working with 16mm and 35mm source content that has been digitized, or working with very high end VIPERcam stock. That is indeed, HD, but it's no more, no less HD than the CX12 that I fly on a regular basis. It's just a different compression and color sample. Come down from your ivory tower and play with the little guys once in a while, will ya?
-
No..thats a HDV camera...not HD HD and HDV are two completely different things... OK, smart guy. Define *exactly* how HD and HDV are different.

Are you going to be in Eloy, James?

Ad hominem rhetoric is so much easier than real discourse. But it's impossible to have a real discourse with people that are improperly hanging flags upside down and creating tombstones for the death of America out of some disillusioned state that our country has fallen. edit]not aimed at anyone in particular. Funny thing. First president in recent elections to win BOTH the pop and electoral vote. No words of "God wanted him in the WHITE house were spoken, just the majority of the country has spoken. We took the house and senate too. Your good ole' boy Bush has left this to you. So if you truly believe America has fallen apart, blame him for the tragedy that most are smart enough to recognize as a blessing. If ANYONE has had the call to hang a flag upside down or erect a tombstone to America, it's been those that did not believe in Bush in 00' and 04'. We have watched powerlessly as he and his buddies systematically raped, pillaged, and now somewhat burned our country, filling their coffers with lucre. No one here (AFAIK) is rubbing it in your nose that we won. But there certainly is a gnashing of teeth, renting of clothes. Wonder how much ash and sackcloth we'll see the theives of washington wearing... They've been caught out, and you've been duped. America has spoken, and it was the people of America that spoke, not some fucked-up disillusionment that God willed it.

This line said it best for me.... "What began twenty-one months ago in the depths of winter must not end on this autumn night. This victory alone is not the change we seek -- it is only the chance for us to make that change. And that cannot happen if we go back to the way things were. It cannot happen without you. " He reached across the barriers of red/blue and hopefully caught the ears of rational Americans that voted for McCain. His deliverance was humble, powerful, and obviously heartfelt. Rehearsed, but delivered with confidence and surety. Looking forward to the next four years with a liberal Senate, House, and President. We might get a little bit of a fix from the last 8 years soon.

Although I'm quite sure you're just tossing shit...hanging a US Flag upside down is an insult to all the veterans of this nation. It's an insult to the processes of democracy. It's an insult to those that are currently fighting wars to protect and assert our right to the democratic process. It's an insult to anyone who is a patriot and believes in the Pledge of Allegiance that most of us speak when we see the flag of our country pass by. It's an insult that you'd call yourself an American and yet piss on the very process that makes our country great. Yeah....it's an insult. For all the worry, Obama addressed it well when he said that winning the election is not the victory, but merely the chance to be victorious, changing what's wrong with our government. Anyone who doesn't believe our government is in serious need of change is seriously sick in the head. And therefore may not be aware of what constitutes an insult?

Several threads reference Vegas Movie Studio, so I uploaded a short section from our Vegas Movie Studio training DVD. Technically, I guess this might be construed as advertising. If anyone has an issue with it being here, I'll yank it, please send me a PM. I wanted to let folks see how the application works. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18f4o3f1wUo There is a high def version on Vimeo under VASST. http://www.vimeo.com/2158986 Hope it helps a little. BTW, we do use skydiving video content in our training videos, because a lot of event videographers use Vegas and have a great need for speed.

hey...ask a question...get an answer. it's a real answer.

Another true "patriot." Did you vote? Seen the flag code? § 176. Respect for flag: No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor. (a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property. S' OK. It's also nice to know that had the other side lost, we'd not be screaming about the death of the country. We'd probably merely be lamenting the end of our paycheck.

Best one practical for skydiving? Sony XDCAM EX. Scott Campos, Norman Kent, Scotty Burns, Greg Gasson, myself have all jumped it. If you think about putting one on before you've got several hundred jumps, plan on losing it, being hurt, or both.

There is a side of me that wants to say "Rest in Peace Good Ole' Boy Mentality" but I won't say it. Like many...I'm old enough to remember white/black areas of the cafe, drinking fountains, entrances to buildings, and even after the civil rights movements there were still remnants of those sorts of attitudes and signs. Like many here, I can remember vividly the protests seen on television. I was only a baby in 1963, so don't recall that event. I do remember King's assasination. I do remember the riots. Many here probably don't know life before 1970. It's a time of change. It's a symbol of a new era no matter how you slice it. The sick, mentally ill, socially-depraved that would judge a man by the color of his skin, his name, or his religion are clearly now in the minority. The ignorant back-water religious freaks are for now, put to the back of the proverbial bus as the minority. Two days ago I heard a guy at Applebee's comment that "there is a reason they call it the WHITE house." ... Read MoreI turned around, fully expecting to see a big, hairy, horse-faced inbreed. Instead, I was faced with a man who looked like the CEO of a successful company. Sometimes, you just can't keep a good BYU-tard down. Regardless of how you shake it out, it's a new day. A different day. At least 51% of the country believes Obama will do a better job. He may, he may not. But one thing we know for sure, it's not four more years of McSame. We have a shot at recovering our place in world politics with a posture of dignity and integrity. Something in my gut tells me that Obama will deliver that. I'm stunned that there are reactions filled with vitriol about Obama winning. I'm practically moved to tears listening to his speech. If Bush was the divider, Obama is the uniter. Never before in my life have I been as proud of my country as I am right now.
