Road Trip to Wisconsin!!! Who's in?
-
I changed it, but I did pay off a "beef offense" this weekend...everyone at the dz was treated to french dips and apple cobbler courtesy of moi (Skydive Wissota eats good--I work for a food broker so I get free food all the time).
-
I would also like to thank global warming for allowing me to jump confortably in WI in January! 2:2:1 Beer offense was first time I went through "industrial haze" under canopy...that was fun but a little nerve racking not knowing were I'd come out.

Unless you can't get Dell to sell/ship you one!

We're doing a Biggest Loser competition at work right now. Started 12/1, ends 2/28. We're in teams of 4-6 and the team with the biggest % loss gets $350 cash, 2nd place team $50, and the biggest female loser and the biggest male loser each get $200 cash. I lost 60lbs in 2005. The secret...diet and exercise. Burning more calories than you consume is the only way to lose weight...period. Everyone wants the get skinny quick secret to the universe. It doens't exist. Not in any healthy way anyway. Since 12/1, I've lost over 5% of my weight. I'm pretty disappointed with that, but given that I only lost 1lb the last two weeks, but at least I didn't gain over the holidays. My team has a pretty good shot at the $350 and if I can snag the $200...two words...NEW CANOPY!

Lil' Jeremy...we need to talk!

I knew I shouldn't have gotten that bullseye tattoo on my ass!!!! Intel Celeron D Processor 325 (2.53GHZ) and 256K cache 256MB DDR SDRAM at 400MHz 80GB 7200 RPM Ultra ATA Hard Drive Windows XP 56K Modem 48X CD-RW/DVD Combo Drive and a bunch of other graphics and shit Nothing too special. Just want to be able to do internet/email, burn disc's, download and edit my digital pictures, etc. Nothing major, no gaming. The price for the Dell was $249. If anyone can sell me a computer with the same spec's, same price, you've got my business! Ok...now I'm at about an hour, twenty minutes. They are telling me that the computer is still going to be built and they are expiditing the order (putting it above others in the que). Why the hell am I putting up with this???????
-
This is getting worse...I didn't think it possible, but it is. I was told by a dz.commer that works for Dell's tech support that the unit that I ordered is discontinued and will never ship. Why they couldn't tell me that in the six times I've called, I don't know. So I've been on the phone for over 45 minutes trying to (on my third person) trying to see what we can work out for something with the same spec's, for the same price and the same financining. I'm actually starting to lose my voice. Of the three people that I've talked to (not including the person who put me on hold for customer service telling me that there was an estimated wait time of 15-30 minutes only to be disconnected after 10 minutes), not a single one is telling me that they can help me. Not only do I not want a Dell computer anymore, but I want a job there. Imagine doing nothing all day long but telling people that you can't help them and getting paid for it. I think I would be really good employee for Dell!!! Well, updated...now I've been on the phone for over an hour! Gotta love it!

Well, I'm up to... 1) One account number 2) One customer number 3) Two order numbers 4) Three estimated ship dates 5) One online chat reference number 6) One email verification number 7) One case number 8) About eight phone calls I got word "unofficially" that there was a problem with Dell Financial, called them, and they said, "Nope, your financing is fine. Your account is fine. It shows the reason why it hasn't shipped is production" which is the same thing that the web site says. Still nothing...I just don't see how any company would consider this acceptable. If I had a customer call me and ask how to cancel their order, I can guarentee that my response would be "Let's work this out", NOT "I can help you with that", which was their response when I asked about cancelling my order. I am completely flaborgasted. I can't believe that they wouldn't offer (more less say no) to sending me a loaner to use until mine finally arrives. I can't believe they haven't said, "Since this unit is having production issues, let's look at another unit that is comprable that's in stock that we can ship right away". I'm sure there are a ton of other solutions that they could suggest and work with me on, but literally all I'm getting is "It will ship when it ships. Could be weeks, could be months...we really don't know. You can either wait until hell freezes over or you can cancel your order". Ugh! Why does shit like this always happen to me? What the hell did I do that was so bad to have to deal with this? All I want is the damn computer that I ordered and have it ship!
-
I'm glad I know that. I was going to make you copies but now that I know your intentions...ain't going to happen!
-
I'm sooooo glad that those pictures were taken on my camera!!! Delete, delete, delete!
-
But it's not just one single lemon customer service event. It has been four phone conversations and one web chat of nothing but horrible customer service. I literally get the impression that they just don't give a fuck. If someone tells me that they want to cancel their order, by gawd damn, I'm going to do everything in my power to try and keep that and all future orders and business. They literally don't care. When I asked how to cancel my order, their response was "I can do that for you". Apparently cancelling my order is about the only thing they are capable of. And I get drunk wherever there is alcohol!! I'm easy like that
-
I'm writing this heated, so I'll probably not be the eloquent in my writing... BUT DON'T EVER BUY A DELL!!!! Their customer service sucks more than all the Hoover vacuums in the world AND me when I'm drunk!! Here's my experience: 12/20/06 Call Dell to order my computer. Spent 25 minutes giving them all the information. I was told to hold for my order number. I hung up after holding for an additional 25 minutes. 12/20/06 Called back, said I was holding for my order number, and low and behold...nothing's in the system. Start order process over again, and the CSR tries to up sell me...again. Been through jack ass! So in still insisting on trying to up sell me, I ask to speak to a supervisor. After asking about four or five times, I'm finally transfered. 12/20/06 Supervisor takes my info and places my order and has my order number to me within 5 minutes. Not sure why the other jack asses that I talked to couldn't do that. I'm given an "estimated ship date" of 12/27/06. 12/27/06--Estimated ship date changes to 1/4/07. 1/3/07--Call to find out if my computer is actually going to ship on 1/4/07. The CSR couldn't tell me anything that I already could find out on the order status portion of their website. Total waste of time. 1/4/07--Check order status on website. The new "estimated ship date is now 1/11/07. I call and talk to a CSR ask what the problem is and try to inquire if it's actually going to ship on that date or is it going to be an issue again. She was absolutely no help. I asked if they could ship me a computer to use until mine ships. She said they can not do that. I asked to speak to a supervisor...about six times...and was told no. On the final time that I asked, she said one was not available but she could take a message and have one call me back within 36 hours. I hung up, and proceeded to write an email to Dell explaining all this and asking them to give me a reason to be a Dell customer, because all they've done is give me reasons not to be. Holy fucking shit...Dell literally has no customer service. I know I can easily cancel the order, but it's a really good deal with good financing, but I'm about to the end of my rope. My computer at home is fried and I really need to get something. So I'm letting everyone know....don't ever by a Dell. They don't want your business and they will treat you like crap. All I want is my fucking computer (or a computer to use until mine comes)! Not really all that hard Dell! So, don't ever by a Dell!!!! I'm done know...I'm going for a smoke!

I've got nothin' but love for the 182. That's what I'm growing up with and henceforth most comfortable for me. However, I must say my ride in the Skyvan at Couch this year was...well...very stimulating. I loved the built in vibrating seats! And getting your ass kicked a little when you hit the prop wash for the first time was a blast!

After 20 minutes of loading, one question...what's high speed? Does that involve the cable?
-
But I plan on swallowing it all!!! Love sucks! True love swallows!!

I'm going to have to go with when I did my first tandem also. It's crazy to think of where I would be, or rather, what I wouldn't have if I'd never jumped out of our beloved 76X-ray at Skydive Wissota. I wouldn't have a group of friends that I consider more family than my biological one. I wouldn't have the courage to face my fears, because who knows, it could turn into something really good. And I wouldn't have found this amazing guy that makes me smile everyday.

It's about 130 miles for me. I'm surprised that Todd (L.O.) hasn't responded with his 50 feet. How great would it be to live in one of the hangers on the dz, a mear 50 feet from the club house?!?!

So who got a Christmas bonus or gift from their boss?
wildfan75 replied to SkydiveStMarys's topic in The Bonfire
I got a new Cypress battery and half a reserve repack. Well, that's what the check I got is going towards anyway. Couldn't have come at a better time! -
I posted on my facebook groups too. This really sucks. If they find the person or persons who did this, I think USPA should take away their license (before they are stoned in public of course).

Get in your car, drive to Skydive Wissota (about five/six hour drive, maybe a little less depending on how you drive) in Chippewa Falls, WI. Jump all day on Sunday, party with us that night, and jump all day on Monday. I'm sure we'll hit a plethra of local bars, so technically you'd still be going out.
