  1. Not if you plan it out properly. I've always seen the green color oxidize badly after a short time. Quality metal is forever.
  2. Probably because that many deep fryers and different oils would cost a fortune.
  3. hope that canola oil isn't a trans fat. I just got done devouring a plate of fried eggplant, bell peppers, and green beans. Damn, they were good! I not sure how, but I've known for years that margarine was garbage. I only use butter as a spread. A little fat is good for you. I might use Crisco if I were baking a pie, but nowadays I might just go with lard. At least it is natural. PS. I really didn't need the lecture, but I appreciate it. I've been eating healthy since the mid 70's.

  5. I just love seeing some idiot trying to tie three sheets of plywood to the roof of his yugo. Now, there's a disaster waiting to happen.

    Oh.. runners?

It was cold this morning so I decided to do 45 min. on the treadmill- barefoot. It was fun but I now have a small blister on the second toe of my right foot.
  7. Maybe it was the twelve step program.
  8. Religion is man's effort to make himself pleasing in God's sight. In other words, if I keep doing what I consider to be the right thing I'll get to heaven. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nope. That's mankind's purpose for religion. Christians, on the other hand, know that they wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell of making it into heaven without the finished work of Christ.
  9. The faith that you must have is that Christ died for your sins. Even that cannot be done without God opening your eyes, spiritually speaking. If you do believe it in your heart, then your eyes have been opened. I do find this to be a problem with a lot of people who have been raised in a church setting. Things become everyday and ho hum. I have said many times that Noah's ark could be found intact, full of petrified animal dung, and it wouldn't make a believer out of someone who sees no need for God.
  10. Being born again is about coming to the knowledge and truth of who Christ is and what he did for all of mankind. The story of the two thieves who were crucified on either side of Christ is a great picture. One recognized Christ for who he was and asked forgivness, whereas the other one scoffed at him. Each one got his proper reward.
  11. Have these threads given you a lot of material for your sermons?
  12. I am feeling all warm and fuzzy now.
  13. Are these rules written down somewhere or should I just know these things. I am, therefore I know!
  14. You might want to send a message to the media so that they can start reporting all of this good news.
  15. I would have taken you for one of those tree huggers who thinks it's a crime to cut a tree unnecessarily.

  17. It seems that the evolutionary process skipped a step in causing us to live together in peace and harmony. Hell, it's had millions of years to get the job done. As far as I can tell, things are generally on a downhill slide, which fits much more closely with Biblical predictions.
  18. I am sorry for your lose. There is nothing that I could say here that wouldn't be perceived as an argument. I just believe that the human animal is so much more advanced than the rest of the animal kingdom, that there is something very special about us. That something different is a soul that continues to exist after the death of the body. I will not preach to you because if you are interested, you can ask your children. I'm assuming that they are Christian. As for arguing. It means nothing, but it is just a hell of a lot of fun. There's no harm intended.
  19. Their argument would be that it's because it's only Christians arguing. I think it's because Christianity teaches that you will never be good enough under your own power to reach the goal. All other religions use the scale mentality. If the good outweighs the bad, then you're good to go.
  20. So what's the scientific answer to "how did life on Earth begin?"? And you spoke with such authority about the beginning of life in previous threads.
  21. They are just as religious as any churchgoer. They get together in groups and light candles or incense. They talk to trees and think that they are one with Mother Nature. They study the stars to see what tomorrow will bring. Yea, they're on a higher plane than the rest of us.
  22. So now, the nicest guy to ever walk the earth is a bi-polar homeless dude? The Old Testament Jews gave a tenth of everything plus the first fruits of the harvest and the herd to the priests of the temple. Some was used for sacrifice, some to sustain the priests while they ministered in the temple. Jesus said "Render unto Ceasar that which is Ceasar's[tax], and unto God that which is God's.[tithe]
  23. one of the largest SB churches in the nation -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First Baptist Jacksonville. You might be confusing SB with charismatic. Southern Babptists don't tend to roll in the aisles or speak in tongues.
  24. At my brothers church he is convinced to donate 10%of his income, which the church then squanders on luxury items and making the church look lavish. (TO be fair I know that some is donated to charities, but a lot is squandered on the building and maintenance of his mega-church.) Is that really necesary? Would Jesus even really like that? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let's be honest. There's not a charity or non profit organization, religious or secular, that doesn't want to operate without state of the art facilities or equipment. My statement was that no organization WANTS to operate without state of the art equipment. I believe this is a free country. I surely wouldn't belong to a church that had a draw on my bank account. Can I get a pass on zombie status?
