But what about the children?
-
Didn't I just see on the news that a bunch of them are holed up in some refugee camp in Lebanon. At least someone is starting to police their own.
-
We don't. Every person should strive to reach the pinnacle of their God given talents, and we hope that they do.

Larry[don't know his last name] jumps at Palatka, Fl. He was on the 400 way last year. I just went over 200 jumps. We did two 2 ways today turning 15 and 12 points and completing the dive plan at 3500 ft. Just what the doctor ordered. Great guy, and always patient.

We're just waiting for the illegal Mexicans to discover packing. Maybe we can get them for $3.00 a pack.

The 2003 war in Iraq - does anybody still fully support it?
Royd replied to vortexring's topic in Speakers Corner
Would bowing down to the rule of Islamic law be one of those diplomatic avenues? Some people only understand the sword. -

this is a war of ideaology. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In today's world, a war of ideology knows no borders. Sadly, the day will come, mostly because Islam will not police itself, that anyone with a hint of a connection will be veiwed with suspicion. -
The 2003 war in Iraq - does anybody still fully support it?

Japan was a nation state under the control of a sole ruler with the power to declare surrender. He is a radical Islamist. Over the next few years, we will probably have to meet this menace headon on a number of fronts. Let's hope London is one of them. -

In the western world, we must come to the reality that the religion of Islam has an "us against them" mentality, and anyone who doesn't bow to their philosophy is the enemy. Islam is like one of those little hand exercise balls that when you squeeze it , it moves and pops out somewhere else. We could have put 500,000 troops into Afghanastan, and when they realized that they were overpowered, they would have simply folded their tents and moved somewhere else. How many 'random' tube or train bombings are we [speaking as a collective] going to endure before the light comes on and we realize that this is a war of ideaology. We have two teams on the field. We think that it's a game of flag football and approach it as such. We just don't realize that the other team is playing tackle. Once the other team realizes that we have figured out the rules, they'll finally say that the game is over. Afghanastan, Iraq, Iran, Darfur. It really doesn't matter where the front is until we figure out what the rules of the game are. At some point in the near future, if the secularists in Iran can't figure out how to get rid of their Little Hitler, we will have to carpet bomb Tehran just to make a point. Japan got the point. -
What skills did you work on after getting the A-license?
Royd replied to chrismgtis's topic in Safety and Training
It should be a continual learning process. The problem is that a lot of peoples' minds do not function that way. They do not have the ability to look at what they are doing, analyze it, recognize a mistake and fix it. Learning to recognize who is flying which canopy, how fast it flies and how the pilot flies it is important for stacking the pattern. I am loaded at just over 1-1 and if someone with a faster wing opens 500 ft. above me, I know that he will probably overtake me in the pattern, so I get into brakes until he gets below me. On breakoff, I am really working on looking left and right during tracking to insure even spacing. On throwout, I'm working on getting head high to ease opening shock. At some point much of this should become muscle memory. -
She could wear one of those orange jumpsuits and pick up trash on the side of the road. That's charitable.

The 26 most common climate myths and misconceptions
Royd replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in Speakers Corner
So, according to your myth, there is never 12 hr. of darkness that prevents the heat from building up. And your house has no windows or doors which can be opened to allow the heat to dissapate. Maybe there's just someone with a victim's mentality living in the house who just sits there and says,"Damn, it's getting hot in here." -
I saw a documentary on bad insects awhile back. The Japanese hornet made the list. They are aggressive and some bad mofo's. Today, I was installing a porch ceiling and some brown wasps apparently knew that they were being shut out of their home. They kept buzzing me all day, but they are pretty harmless. Just don't show any fear.

What the guppie said. I'll be sure to leave you and a few other posters a message when I have a major problem so that you guys can help me get my shit together.

Maybe you just bruise easily. You are a girl, right? Seriously, when I put my rig on, I allow it to hang on my arms as I put my feet into the legstraps. Maybe at this point, you are trying to work the rig up onto your shoulders. That could do it for someone who bruises easily. I simply bend forward and allow it to slide onto my shoulders.

Maybe someone should ask grown men who have been trained in saftey procedures why they chose not to apply them. You can only fire so many people for obeying procedures before no one is left.

Ain't it funny that when someone can get a job done, all of the problems are his fault, but when someone can't do the job[ Ray Nagin] it's someone else's fault.
