  2. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_reply_write;quote=1;parent_post_id=3152898 but what do I know
  3. I never knew DZ.com was so damn funky this thread a killer playlist! Seeing as some of the tracks posted test the definition of D-I-S-C-O in its strictest sense, I'm gonna stretch it some more
  4. Seconded from NWFlyers list - Got to Give it Up - Marvin Gaye and if you're serious about disco (not many are these days haha) you HAVE to play Candi Statton - Victim and you absolutely have to play something by Larry Levan, (preferably) Work That Body AND Waling into Sunshine - Central Line (Larry Levan Mix) have a fabulous time
  5. Nope... alas... 3.5 grams on the earth is the same as 3.5 grams on the moon... No it's not. You'd get about 6 times as much if you can be arsed to go to the moon to get it. You might want to make a call first I heard there's a bit of a drought up there, last years crop failed due to excessive solar activity. but what do I know
  6. Intellution design but what do I know
  7. Kaerodyne / Dorko I'm really please to see the requirements for walkmonauti laid out here so clearly. l'm sure now the debate as to whether this walkmonauti is a discipline in itself or just a type of slow running will finally laid to rest. We are winning the battle for hearts and minds soon all non believers will have finaly see the light. I have many personal experiences of walkmonauti am happy to share PM if anybody interested. Futher more my great great great great uncles grandmother practised walkmonauti so the family legend goes, though apparently she referred to it as Strollmonauti. Any old timers care to chip in? edit to add: could a moderator make the original post stickie? but what do I know
  8. I've used it myself so am as "guilty" as anyone, but do you know what I'm SICK of? DING DING DING, we have a winner. find a new one but what do I know
  9. No, do the opposite, let it go. Respectfully everybodies, Sam x but what do I know
  10. I '"see" clearly now. Thank's for that! but what do I know
  11. That is twisted logic on so many levels. but what do I know
  12. So do I. but what do I know
  13. Nice. Good eye contact all round, legs a little extended driving into the formation, they've obviously spent some time in the tunnel but what do I know
  14. I think it was the very 1st thing I bought on ebay in 2002, a zoom lens 2nd hand from a camera shop in the US, bought back by a friend for around $2500. In at the deep end, all worked out fine. Indirectly as in ebay didn't get their commisssion also bought a car. but what do I know
  15. I think it's possible but you' be relying on you getting your bags quick, waved through customs and no congestion on the roads. Even one minor delay of the three you could still do it but everything will have to flow for you. If the transfer is on a weekday at rush hour on the roads chances getting even slimmer, but what other options do you have? Minincab/taxi maybe quicker only because no waiting around to leave or howabout a motorcycle taxi - how light do you travel? My 1st instinct was go for it you'll make it by the skin of your teeth (is that an expression americans understand?), but please don't blame me if you don't, cutting it very fine.. Let us know how you get on. Sam (insomniac in London) but what do I know
  16. I'm Spartacus Kaerodyne ! but what do I know
  17. That's not changing the definition, there are other definitions or concepts of energy that have been around several thousand+ years and while different cultures have called it different things it's all the same IMO. If you don't believe in it or have never felt it then of course it is all just primitive debunked claptrap. As a society we think we're so clever and we are, for we have conquered space, plumbed the depths of the ocean, built machines that allow us flight (some of us make our own way down ), made microscopes that allow us to see things at molecular level etc etc. Despite all this, what makes us think we're in anything other than the same situation as the forefathers of our current left brain thinking society. Yes we know a lot more about a lot of things but all we know is what we know. To a certain extent you need to suspend your beliefs about a lot of what you know as fact to accommodate views like this, and I understand an unwillingness to do this, there is no logic, science or method in it. Anyway, what prompted me to post despite not posting to this thread again, relating to my earlier post about monks surviving the night 15,000ft up a mountain using meditation. Here's another application of the same technique in the news today - http://abcnews.go.com/Health/Story?id=4393377&page=3 extract from an interview - Question: So what do you focus on or think about when you're submerged in ice, for example? Wim Hof: When you are cold in your house, you put the heat on. That's energy. So I produce energy. And I leave you with this, not sure who said it best so here's both - "Don't think..... feel" Bruce Lee "Feel......don't think" Qui-Gon Jinn yeah baby I'm a jedi but what do I know

    Snow?

Wow, that's a lot of girlfriends! So how many is a brazilian? twice as much as a largentinian but what do I know
  19. That was caused by a dust devil, not conditions that were too windy. Thread including a post by the girl that happened to on UK Skydiver here: http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10516 but what do I know
  20. I thought this was all theory? When has a black hole been tested? What did they find? We only have predictions, like you say. If you actually look at it, a lot of our 'understanding' of space is unproven theory. There are models that offer alternative explanations than the one taught pretty much as gospel, which also do a better job of explaining the dichotomy between some accepted scientific theories. I don't expect that people who disbelieve will ever believe and thats fine with me too, I just like throwing some of this out there so people who aren't firmly in your camp have more resources so they can make their own minds up. As I've said before you need to keep an open mind when looking at this, as it goes against some pretty fundamental tenets of western belief. 'Learning about why it doesn't exist' means you've made you mind up already, so you'll only find information to support your view, but thats OK. edit I'm posting no more to this thread, to the believers and non-believers - blue skies, live long and prosper.
  21. Have a look at a picture or footage of a peregrine in a dive. The wings are tucked in and become more like stabilisers, for want of a better word. It's obviously an incredibly aerodynamic shape considering their mass v speeds they achieve. I know you're talking abut diving ability, but I also don't know any wingsuit pilots who can acheive 120mph level flight by flapping their wings. Like Jakee said, comparisons are pretty useless. but what do I know
  22. IMHO it's all just semantics. If someone has done one tandem and wants to call themselves a skydiver let them. There's better things to do with your time than shoot down people who want to to be thought of or classed as something, whether they are in the club or not. It's an ego thing for them, and I would suggest getting too worked up about it is also an ego thing. I never contemplated a tandem before aff for the reasons you speak of, I wanted as much of the responsibility on that 1st jump as I could get, but if anybody wants to do a single tandem and then call themselves a skydiver that's fine with me, come find me in the bar at the end of the day and we can trade stories and compare notes, if that's your FIRST and going to be only skydive, you're buying the beer! Sarah if I'd known you're contemplating selling your body, even if only look but don't touch, I'd of made you an offer given you a jump ticket in Seville. Sam but what do I know

    Snow?

I lived with a mate many years back and his brazilian girlfriend, the look on her face when she saw real snow for the 1st time (she was about 18 at the time) was absolutely priceless, even if it was the slushy grey London variety. Almost made up for the hell it was living with her. OK maybe her tendancy to walk around the flat wearing high heels, g-string and notalot else also helped.. but what do I know
  24. Brian Thats not the wrong side of the road, it's just not the right side.
