  1. Q: What is the definition of "blind spot" ? A: It's what Dick and Jane do with a sharp stick. I think you have to be at least 40 to understand that one. Q: What did the 3 legged dog say when he walked into the saloon? A: I'm looking for the man who shot my paw. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  2. Yea, the more I studied the pic the more I seen the differences, but they sure look an awful lot alike. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  3. That is really wild. If that is not Levi then he has a double. When exactly was the pic taken and where? And what does Am Stud stand for? My guess was American Students. The picture appears to be Levi about four or so yrs ago when he was in high school. He was valadictorian of his class at Wendell Id at the time. So your comment that this pic was taken earlier this yr is what kind of through me. If you go on to My space and look up The Crafty Bastards you will see older pics and newer pics of my son. The Crafty Bastards is his band out of Bellingham. You should check out the site and tell me if you think they look alike. Also check out their music. They are in the process of recording their second disc now. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  4. What a shock. I open your picture and the far right person in the pic is my son Levi. Where was the pic taken and which one are you? Levi is in Bellingham Wa. now. How cool to see him on this site. Thanks. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  5. I've seen Pro Teks in sporting good stores and also in rock climbing sections of different stores. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  6. Because it takes almost one full gallon to wash one single prop. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  7. Very sorry to hear that. Just hope for the best. Our Chow Sheppard cross had cancer on his right upper lip a couple mo. ago. They removed that part and since then he has gotten his pep back and all is going well. No sign of it coming back at this point. So there is a chance your kitty is going to be all right. Good luck. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  8. Maybe you should let someone hook you up to electrodes and zap you a few thousand times a day. You would probably change your fucking tune. If its done to prisoners, it's torture, but if it's done to children it's alright then in your opinion huh? I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  9. Hey, thanks for the pics. I really appreciate it. I'll sure try this next time I pack. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  10. I'm not visualising this. Can you post pics? I sometimes have one bitch of a time getting it into the D bag. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  11. The more I've thought about this since it happened, I think you are absolutely right. As I said prviously I set my brakes upon landing but on the previous jump to this one I had on off field landing and was pretty pre-occupied with that and probably set my brakes when I got back to the packing area. Thanks for the input. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  12. You are probably right about this. I'm very anal about setting my brakes as soon as I land and that they are properly stowed but it is sure not out of the realm of possibility that I missed that. Thanks for the input. It could explain alot. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  13. You are right. The Rat Hat is very wide but I've never had a prob with it before. I bought it for a camera but I'm not flying one. I do agree though, the smaller the helmet, the lesser the snag potential. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  14. It was actually a hard opening. No bleeding or bruising, but hard enough to ring my bell. On the verge of seeing stars. It could've been body position, but I'm not sure. We had just finished a four way and I pulled in place, so I didn't track before deployment. I've had line twists a few times but never at my risers. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  15. I,ve had 2 brake fires in 161 jumps. The last being this last weekend that caused me the hardest opening I've ever had. Read my post on this forum, Riser twists with camera. Not sure what caused my brake fire but I do know I have no other way to stow my excess brake lines other than in my stow loops on my risers, I used to do that but when I release my brakes the excess line would eventually saw through the elastic loops. The rigger at the time told me not to stow my lines there, but to just fold them neatly with my risers when I tuck them in. My rig is now with my rigger for a repack and to repair the loops that tore loose on this weekends opening. I'm going to call him and have him sew some velcro to stow this excess line. I don't like the idea of all this line being so free to do what it wants. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  16. Last Sunday I did a four way with friends. Had a great jump. On deployment I had the hardest opening I've rver had. Not exactly sure why. I had started to pack outside in the wind and decided to take it inside. Did a routine pack and I'd like to say that I'm not a trash packer. I do take my time. Anyway on opening my chin was pinned to my chest. I could not bring my head up to see what I had above me. I was in a right hand spin. After 3 attempts I finally gave it everything I had to free my head and was able to do so. I wear a Bonehead rat hat helmet which is very wide. Now I can see whats going on. I had two twists in my risers. I kicked out of them and at that point I was still in the spin. The reason being that I had blown the left brake stow loops and my left toggle was jammed in the slider grommet. There was barely enough on the bottom side for me to grab but after a couple tries I was able to pull it back through. I had deployed at 4000 so all this was completed before 2800. Now for the point of this story. I had been flying a camera since aprox 50 jumps. After reading so much on DZ. com about all the safety implications of it and with my low numbers, I took my camera and bracket off at the beginning of this season. If I had still had it on my helmet on this jump, at the very least I probably wouldn't have been able to free my head. At the most I could have broke my neck. So to anybody out there with low numbers thing of strapping that camera on think about it again and read the posts on this subject. And thanks to all the folks out there who gave me the advice that I finally heeded. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  17. Some people just can't take a joke. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  18. Yes, although I missed the first night because PBS in my area was on the fritz. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  19. Good job. I never voted in my life until 2004. I was 44 yrs old. Never really thought that my vote counted for anything anyway. But then in 04 I registered just so I could vote against that low life, moronic, inarticulate, lying sack of shit. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  20. I'd ride a kite to altitude if I could just to jump. But I sure like the climb rate of the King Air. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  21. So you had a cutaway. Sounds like you followed your EP's like you were supposed to. I haven't had one yet but I'm sure it's coming someday. The guy I bought my rig from 5 yrs ago had 4 cutaways in 40 jumps. He re-evaluated his jumping career and decided it wasn't for him. Great for me cause I got a screaming deal on a nearly new Javelin at the time. To each his own, but I wouldn't quit if I were you. You got your first chop out of the way early and handled it well. Just my opinion but if it were me I'd hang with it awhile and see how it goes from here. Just the luck of the draw. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  22. I haven't had cable for 20 yrs I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  23. I'd be willing to bet that if your ass looks nice in your new suit that it probably looks nice without it also. Are you wearing it to bed tonight? I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  24. That was excellent. I haven't heard Titties and Beer for 20 yrs. Thanks. Sheik Yerbouti is a favorite along with Joes Garage Acts 1 2 and 3. If you've never heard it, go find Zoot Allures. Great album. Check out The Torture Never Stops. Also Wind Up Working In a Gas Station. That song woke me up every morning when I was a senior in high school. This shit takes me back. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
  25. I seen Blazing Saddles When it first hit the theaters, I was 14. I never laughed so hard and so long in my life. The whole theater would quiet down after a funny part and I would still be laughing through my hands. Pretty soon the entire theater was laughing at me. I own the movie now and have to see it at least once a yr. Mel Brooks has been a favorite ever since. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
