Here you two... Fascism Liberals constantly comparing ANYTHING in the U.S. to fascism is an insult to anyone who suffered under real fascism. Try your heroes: Castro, or Chavez, or Il. (That would be Fascism kiddies) You wouldn't know real oppression or human rights violations if they slapped you in the face. But talking point parroting is much more entertaining than education, so do continue... - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

...And I don't want them, nor do I want the liberal douchebags not willing to dirty their hands with the blood of freedom under my command. My men volunteered. I don't want someone under me by coercion or compulsion. I want meat-eaters willing, eager even, to do the bad things that must be done. So that those who choose not to retain that option. I have no problem with fighting so others don't have to. And they shouldn't be openly ridiculed for it. I don't want my daughter to go into harm's way, but if she does...daddy's gonna show her how to win BIG. But when people bitch and whine about things they refuse to change first hand...just consider the source. Landed off??....Let's hear about it!
Para_Frog replied to kturnau's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The truck stop on S. Sunshine in Eloy after drifting to altitude in Burner's balloon. Or... A 1948 Twin Beech C-18 turning onto jump run and loses an engine over Belen, NM. I'm riding in the co-pilot's seat (with the headset on) and the 500' loss of altitude scares the shit out of me. The pilot says over vox - calmly, "You guys might wanna get out." I'm sure he saw my deer-in-the-headlights look as I agreed and ripped off the headset, and turned to tell the rest of the load. ...The plane is EMPTY. I hit the door running and found the canopy flock down below....5 miles from the DZ. I think I shit my suit a little on the way down. Good times. - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member -
Ann Coulter's comments help Edwards campaign raise money
Para_Frog replied to SpeedRacer's topic in Speakers Corner
I'll bite... Disciplining Coulter into humility while Rosie rebuilt the engine in my car out back wouldn't suck. Simple pleasures... - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member -
If the exit point involves climbing, he's gonna need to train up for it! Oh wait - he saw the down-winder - I better shut my pie hole. Nick, The scabs are peeling nicely btw - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

Blinding them with legal proceedings works in many many cases. I say go for it - I'd sign on. I can't afford Lysefjord, I wanna jump El Cap in broad daylight, and should be able to. Sidebar: There is a pretty healthy Idaho contingent of BASE jumpers for the obvious reason, and Dirk Kempthorne (former ID governor for those who don't know - now Sec. of Interior) will be leaving with the current administration...between us and the TF community as a whole, perhaps a campaign to get his weight behind us? A last hurrah for the home folks perhaps? NPS answers to Interior. Just a thought. - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

More of a communications error than anything. Nick's got some stones, no doubt about that. You'd be better served to ask him. Everyone had a laugh and no one died - that's all that matters. I let Lanes show me how to do my first tard-over, so I'm not exactly one to judge about trusting Maggot! - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

Come on.. get real here.. IF that information was true.... George and Dick would be getting huge hardons and be creaming all over the press with the information in one HUGE OVAL circle-Jerk.... the Ultra right wingers live for that kind of proof. That shit would have been declassified in a New York Minute and would have been emblazoned all over EVERY news outlet in the world as PROOF of the need to go to war. Such elloquence...thank you for illustrating the level of dialog and thus disqualifying me. Oy. Hey Bill, when is HH firing up the new site for we black sheep? Time to move on...oh sorry....I mean moveon. - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

A threat with no action to back it up = Kofi Annan. He needed removed and routed. I disagree with supporting a cowardly population. They are wonderful people - you should both go there and meet some Iraqis (but you prefer to just assume they hate us there, when actually - I saw grown men weep when families begged us to stay) - but they lack the fortitude to stand up against a minority of thugs. I just hope they get it someday. Instead of beating up the administration (I bet you were silent during Somalia - you need to realize parties have nothing to do with war) why don't you join an NGO and go help. We could use it. Shit, I'll put you in touch with some great people. They disagree with everything I stand for, but they do great work for the Iraqis. - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

Oh honey... Declassified does not translate as on the internet Good grief. The San Francisco press (of all unbiased sources) did the legwork on the FOI Act and actually came pretty close. SFGate did a piece on a certain Turkish operation that was so close - it HAD to be leaked. And actually strengthened the Neo-Con (as you like to label over and over) position. Today's lesson...it's declassified. It's there. Good men supplied the info. Go find it. Hint: (it's not necessarily on your beloved internet...step awaaaay from the computer) [jedi mind trick]Just because it's NOT online...it can still be factual - wow[/jedi mind trick] Prewar Movement of WMD Material Out of Iraq, stating "ISG judged that it was unlikely that an official transfer of WMD material from Iraq to Syria took place" but also acknowledging that "ISG was unable to complete its investigation and is unable to rule out the possibility that WMD was evacuated to Syria before the war."- Duelfer Report Edit to add: I don't personally give a rat's ass what Dick and George do. Nor what Hilla-Obam-Kucin-whoever the hell does with the information provided them. They're all out for money. I go where the bad guys are. - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

Well, when Hillary sends me and da boys into Syria and/or Iran I'll be sure to report back. But if it was in the WashPost, I'm sure it's true, so eyewitness accounts might be moot. - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

We didn't find shit after March 03. We had teams inside in late 02 watching the exodus westward. All declassified, so no one freak out. If it wasn't for the hearts and minds bullshit (read UN) - and the MB (main body) would have gone in sooner - They wouldn't have gotten to Syria. No sweat, that gives the 08 Democratic administration their war to fight later. I just carry the torch. Business is guuuuud. And I'm not a war supporter - more of a war connoisseur. A supporter sits and watches, a connoisseur gets close enough to taste it. FYI Prof. K - My Stanford-Binet is 162. DLAB 116 (not an IQ score - look it up folks). Not magnificent, but not too bad for a a loathsome Barbarian, eh? sits back and revels in the mumbled disgust - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

Is there anyone who does not SUCK the big one. Dem. Rep.
Para_Frog replied to Darius11's topic in Speakers Corner
[soapbox]Our elected officials were originally chosen among us and basically drew the short straw from their community. They had to skip the harvest, or the planting, or whichever...to take the will of the people to the government. Then in a year or so, it rotated to another member of the community. Until we manage our way back to THAT instead of representation being a way to parlay a $140,000 salary into millions per year, we will cointinue to have one party. That of the wealthy. Viva la revolucion (it's past due)....bitches.[/soapbox] - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member -
You are correct Sir...Typo. And they've been BASEd many times. Allegedly. Some AF Comedy Central (combat controllers) painted their green feet up there and hucked it waaaay back when - 1991. The black hats made a big deal out of it. One of those Benning urban legends. - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

They're 150' - and we jumped them during Tower Week - AKA week #2. The apex of a Dash 1B is attached to a hook and the fabric is spread out around a big-assed hula hoop to ensure it catches air immediately upon release. You're winched up into the air to the top and it releases. You glide 150' to a hopefully uneventful PLF. Unless you're like me - and your right nut gets caught under the legstrap. Then you kinda pray for death for about 20 seconds until you go up, down, and crumple to the ground in pain...while your buddies laugh their asses off. - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

QuoteYou still haven't come up with something that GUARANTEES action by DZO / STA's. Quote BSRs guarantee nothing. They are guidelines, not laws. YOU guys explained that one ad infinitum in this very thread! I dare say my expressing to a peer on the DZ that he will get squashed if he violates landing rules has more teeth than a guideline. Though I will concede to BillV that yes - there are those beyond influence of even threatened alien probing. Now what's your answer again? Oh...a BSR. OK...good on ya. Bryan Burke once enforced a low-pull no-no on yours truly - in 1993. What made it stick was that good ol' "I oughta beat you." I was a punk kid and had no idea what a BSR was. (new flash - there are new ones out there). It was getting booted and seeing "The" man pissed that worked. - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

I don't have feelings...you need to do more research. Big-boy pants? Um, OK. You got me there - I generally shy away from adversity, icky things, and spiders. And there was never a whine. Simply a point. And my alternative is very viable. Wow. I must say I am impressed however that the best PA you could come up with is attacking licenses. Bravo. Do the math and figure out when I got that measly license. Impress me. - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

The assailant were all black. Check the Statesman. I was an Austin cop for 5 years. That section of town is bad bad. Just happens to be 99% Black. South of 7th St. is Hispanic, and the two neighborhoods hate each other. There are a lot of dynamics unknown to the general public. But FYI - white rednecks normally don't celebrate Junteenth. They kill each other at the Livestock Show and Rodeo at the fairgrounds. - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

I could articulate until the cows come home...and have done so in several posts. You wouldn't accept it regardless. So I'll not waste my precious time...again. If you read s-l-o-w-l-y---up---you'll see I even conceded a very good point. Show me some proof where a BSR regarding low pulls made significant inroads. It would be statistically insignificant simply due to the lack of population. Nothing against the good intentions - just the example. (personally I thought that was a poor example for someone so interested in articulation since MANY more people are croaking due to landing accidents than ever did low-pulling). We are dealing with a growth problem in BASE. Walt's aware of THAT discussion. Skydiving is having difficulty retaining membership. I am certain of one very prominent difference in the two. Give you an articulated cookie if you can point it out. And yes - it's relevant to this discussion. And a stunning example of self-regulation. Stick that on your "they don't agree with me so they must automatically be wrong" list. - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member
