I'm just glad they weren't there to film those fucking retards I almost came to blows with this morning in the hippie-homeless rainbow trailer from CA. If Maggot feels compelled to tell some poor old tourists that those fuck-sticks weren't with him...you KNOW they're idiots. Those morons were here to film BASE as well apparently - so if the choices are some cheese-dick Matt Hoffman wannabes, or ESPN... Guess what fuckos...I'll take ESPN. At least they won't get the bridge shut down for letting their unleashed pit-bull scare blue haired tourists. And then shoving a camera in their face telling them it's a free country. It takes a lot to piss me off. That did. Locals should not have to explain "Sorry ma'am, but I promise - they're NOT BASE jumpers" to the sweet old gals running the visitors center. Someone from the BASE community invited those societal rejects. Why don't you hunt them down and bust their ass instead of Tom's? If I find out who it was, I'm going to shove a pilot chute up their ass. Tom...see if the ESPN guys will get me a copy of the mach 3 tuck and roll I nailed. It was a training tool...yeah, that's it...a training tool. Edit to Add - Oh, almost forgot - I'm almost sure the ESPN guys weren't tow-roping around the visitor's center on a skateboard behind a truck at about 30 MPH. Brilliant shit. - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

I'm headed from Boise to Twin at about 3:30 Friday (I work at the military base across the runway from the Boise terminal). I got room for 4 more, but the bus is rolling out by 4:00 latest - can't keep the Blondie waiting! - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

Champions League Final: Liverpool FC vs. AC Milan

What time GMT is the match? Yeah, I think Milan is going to smoke Liverpool - but I'm still pulling for the Brits. - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member -
What's greek for dink fucking tool? Dude....head to Mykonos and go to a bar called Oilcan Harry's East - ask for Davros. He'll get you drunk on Ouzo, PCA you from a cool E, and you'll wake up with a sore ass. It makes me all warm and fuzzy that this many BASE purists care enough about the sport to even respond to you seriously after you turned on the dumbass switch. i don't include myself among them obviously. They're nice. I weep for whatever army is depending on the dramatics and dee Dee DEE you have exhibited. Darwin loves you mullet, and so does Davros. Now go jump. - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

Dude, that is the coolest tandem story ever - you guys should be on the Discovery Channel. My first inkling was cancer (Dave Dravecky came to mind immediately when you said it was reaching for a drogue). You're in my prayers my friend. Kick its ass. - Chris - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

It acted just like one - saw one whack someone at Eloy once - but this was minus the dust...completely invisible. - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

She's got 4 fractures of the pelvis (both ischia and pubi) and split her sacrum right up the middle. They expected her to be in the hospital for a month. It'll be 2 weeks on the nose. She misses her kids BAD. She's already won the pole in the walker 500 on the 4th floor. Freakish motivation to get back in the fight. She expects to be running again by Christmas. - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

It happened at a hell of a time, too-Just as I reached back to throw the drogue on a tandem. ???? now you have to explain!!! No shit. Blondie just lawn-darted under a streamer - sounds like you get the style points. - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

My girlfriend, mother of 6 and resident BASE mascot/chef/bartender. Name on here is TheBlondie - she'll be back to her computer Saturday-ish if anyone wants to send her well wishes directly, I think she'd like it - she's quite the rockstar at the hospital. The predominantly female staff (including the orthopaedic surgeon) admire her choice of body-breaking activity. - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

Holy crap...that's a HELL of a place to break your arm. Youch. - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

A sport that may be more intense then BASE jumping (Land Diving)

Yup. If mods like you, or you practice plenty of smootchus-rectus...you have more latitude, if not, you don't. Take it from someone who's pissed in his fair share of cheerios pointing out the obvious. Fair? No. But guess what... It's a privately owned entity. You can be banned because they don't like your name. And Sangiro could zap the server clean anytime - He's paying for it. Don't like it? Then start your own forum - as some have. The free market kicks ass. That's the way it is. This post will be in the recycle bin in 3, 2, 1... - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

Quick update: So missy has had 3 units of blood transfused (she lost 1/2 her blood volume), which boosted her strength a ton, and the chest tube came out again. From the looks of it, her lung is holding. Found out on the first set of rounds by the surgeon that Blondie had also fractured her pelvis in 5 places in the fall, but that they weren't bad - so no one bothered to share that little gem with us. (explained some extra pains we couldn't) She's already begun physical therapy and been up on a walker about a dozen times. She's determined to be walking unassisted within 6 months. Thanks to everyone who has sent well wishes, phone calls, visits and cards - and a special thanks to Abbie and the Fresno Crew who sent her the friggin palm tree that takes up the whole room - it's her favorite. She said it's her goal to keep it alive at least until she's 100%...just to remind her. And to Tom for the encouragement. Her folks are bringing up the kids this weekend to see her. They're fine - asked her how long until they can see her jump again. They know momma's tough. I will hopefully have her back to Twin in 2 or 3 weeks. She wants to have everyone over for beers to thank you. I'll buy koosh balls or something so we can harass her with from across the room. We need to take advantage while she can't fight back. Thanks again everyone. - Chris - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member

She was turning base on a nice conservative approach under a Cruiselight 210 and a freak, but very violent rotor off a nearby rise, or turbulance off the runway just whipped the canopy around and collapsed it. She looked like a ragdoll. I was 25 yards away on the ground. At that initial height, 150 ft or so, it would have been fatal. It re-inflated for a second, then the nose rolled under at about 60 ft. and she went in hard. S&TA was her coach on the load and witnessed it too. Everyone was at a loss as to what could have been done to correct it. It was very ugly. One of those incidents where you clinch your toes as it unfolds. We were at Star, ID. All the skydivers and the local VFD were amazing helping me try to keep her comfortable and stable while we waited for Life Flight, even though there wasn't a whole hell of a lot we could do before the traction splint got there. She got some sleep last night, but she's fighting a fever now. Tough bitch though, she'll be fine. - Harvey, BASE 1232 TAN-I, IAD-I, S&TA BLiNC Magazine Team Member
