I was watching a movie about a guy that became blind at the age of 30. It was very hard to learn how to handle it, but in time he overcame and learned how to get around and do normal day to day things. So we were talking about it and I came up with this idea. This morning I woke up and decided I would try and do the blind thing just to see if I could do it. So I didn't open my eyes (I know, too much time on my hands) I took a shower, it definitely took me a little thinking to think of exactly where my soap ect was but I found it almost first try. Then I went and made cerial for breakfast, that was difficult I made a bowl that was filled not enough with way too much milk. Then the hard part getting dressed, I actually found the shirt I wanted and shorts. It really wasn't that hard it took me a little bit to stop and think ahead where everything was, but I found my tv remote (I know, what for?) my shoes and did all that without opening my eyes from wake up. The shoes and remote are an acomplishment because I usually cant find them with my eyes open, it actually was easier when I had to think where the were instead of looking for them. So lets see how you do, I dont expect you all to do something as big as I did, try something small. Oh yeah don't try this skydiving the landings will suck. Its weird to think that you actually know your clothes by how they feel instead of how they look. Anyway lets see how good a blind person you would make. Jumping a highly loaded canopy with an RSL offers a great chance of tumbling and having your reserve pc, as well as your reserve canopy lines and all get an extraction across anywhere, as opposed to the skyhook which offers a clean extraction and transition. Thats why I would jump a skyhook as opposed to an RSL. The chance of my Camera getting caught on the RSL was a thought but after I looked into it I decided the risk was minimal with my camera on the other side. I also take that into account with my cutaway procedures, but no system is perfect. I guess to make it simple I wouldn't jump a regular RSL camera or not. IMO there is a significant snag difference between the skyhook and a standard RSL. But the snag difference isn't at the RSl attachment point to the risers its further down the chain of events. I actually put a lot of thought into it, I have the skyhook on my rigs. I would connect it for fun jumps, disconnect it sometimes for video, ect. Now my skyhook is on always. I have done a lot of intentional cutaways with the skyhook, so I base my ideas on that. My camera is on the left side, and my skyhook is on the right so it would be really hard to catch it on my camera. Also I had a bad year for cutaways last year all with my camera, and most of them pretty ugly jumping a Velo 84 (old PC F111 with over 1500 jumps on it, since replaced very nice openings). But after all the rides I had both intentional and unintentional, all wearing a camera I feel pretty safe jumping a camera with the skyhook. That is the main reason I like the skyhook, small canopies loose a lot of altitude when they mal, and since Im a high puller the only time I would need a skyhook (in theory) is if I ride a mal down too long. No system is perfect, but I do trust the skyhook, Ive seen it in action a lot, and I have used it myself. Bill has thought of more stuff to try and were going to do it. Look at the PIA and see the new results for the skyhook Im sure you will be impressed. Also for the people that think that RWS actually went and engineered the skyhook to release the freebag more to sell more freebag's, there is a new design that actually increases the chance that the freebag will stay with the main while making sure in a total the pc will cleanly extract the reserve and disconnect from the skyhook. If you are jumping a camera, with or without the skyhook, the only way to be safe is to make sure you have a clean setup. Try and reduce snagpoints and keep everything clean. Skyhook, Rsl or without any reserve assist all can cause problems if you get lines hung up on your helmet. Also if your jumping camera its very important to deploy stable. Just move to Miami for a few weeks. I actually have 6 years of Spanish in School got mostly A's and B's. I did a term of Spanish in College and passed. Anyone ever have any success with a CD repair kit? And if so which one worked the best? Over the years I have bought a few of the cheaper CD repair kits, they worked pretty good at cleaning a CD and maybe allowing it to play a track that would skip before, but I have never found a kit that actually removes scratches. I was at best buy yesterday and there was a few "Guaranteed to work" CD repair kits that claim they will even remove deep scratches. Im wondering if anyone has purchased one of these expensive CD repair kits and if so did they work? I have an old CD from a band I was in right after high school that has some scratches, not bad ones but enough to make the songs skip. It would be great to hear the songs again. About 10 years ago I went to see a Slayer "tribute" band called Angel of Death in Daytona at this tiny bar. Not many people showed up which was good because the bar was tiny. Then the band comes on and starts with Raining Blood and were thinking damn they even look like Slayer, and they sound just like them. It turned out to be Slayer, they had 3 nights off from a tour so they played the bar just for fun, and they played almost every one of their songs, they even did requests. They would play a few songs come hang out with everyone and drink some beers and then go play some more songs. Ive seen them 6 times and that was definitely the best show ever. Close to showing up at my favorite music bar in South Beach to see Zack Wylde on stage with Flotsam and Jetsam bass player Troy Gregory (also played with Prong) playing Sabbath and Ozzy songs with Zack singing. I think Clewiston is closest depending on where you are...Skydive Miami is WAY south. Skydive South Beach is closed. I was in FLL this past weekend. (Well, on Sat). Made one jump at Clewiston on my way back home. Ron made a fun jump !BEER! Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Its a lot cheaper for one, and it keeps you from buying a smaller canopy and then finding out your not ready for it (lots of sub 100 sq ft used canopies out there with only 10 jumps on them for sale). I think try adding weight is a good idea, especially if your not close to the optimal wing loading of the canopy your jumping. Just remember folks optimal is different with every canopy you jump, just because a Velocity likes to be loaded 2.1 doesn't mean your stilletto will. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Just as much as i think the war in iraq is about Oil. In all reality I dont have an opinion, but money and income definitely helps a country decide who they want to help. Seeing that the #1 country against the war in Iraq (Disclaimer: I am not against or for the war I just think its ironic that this is happening).
