There's new rules about video, but Im not sure exactly what they mean but basically with Nationals if the judges cant see it, it diddn't happen. As far as coaching for cameramen Im sure any experienced 4way videographer can offer tips that will help out a lot. Go to the local meets and look at the video of other teams and take notes. All those points are in the final edit, this was just a teaser and only 5 min long the final product is around an hour and 1/2. I've been working on a learning aid for upcoming 4way camerapeople. This link is just a preview or a teaser, the final product goes into great detail over every block/random and how they usually come off the plane, also some of the more popular variations and cheats teams often use. The main airplane for the video is an Otter, but I have also included Skyvan and Porter exits. There is good examples of the 3 most popular video exit styles (leading, with, and peeling). I'm about 80% done with the video and then its off to be shown to the best point turners I can find for feedback and editing before release. This Dvd is only for reference, I strongly feel that eveyone that is interested in competition video should develop their own style, one that works best for them. With reference and a little insight gaining the experience and building technique should be a lot easier with the help of this dvd. This also will help out beginning teams that actually turn the points as a reference on how each exit can come out, I'm not a 4way coach so I wont even attempt to tell anyone how to do each exit, its just examples of every block coming off the plane, sometimes with different variations. And included in the end my favorite part the blooper section, I'm looking for any footage that people would like to send to me to include, this isn't a profit motivated project, more to give something back. And offer something out that I have a lot of experience at. Any footage I use will get credit (unless you dont want your name added to your footage). Dont know if it helps, but everyone that knows me can testify, I was 220 lb and in less than 2 months I went to 165. Nope no drugs were involved and actually I drank a lot of beer. How I did it, first I do have the ability to gain weight once or twice a year without noticing so I have to do it again then. The rules are: Rule #1 NO FAST FOOD no matter what, fried food either.. Rule #2 Cereal for breakfast, or oatmeal ect, just nothing fried, I guess you could do poached egg whites on toast without butter, but no fried eggs, bacon ect, except one day a week then whatever you can eat, I went big with a grand slam slugger. Rule #3 and I think the most important dont eat after 5:30Pm, the late night after a night out meals are the worse. But I ate a normal dinner I ate normal food but if I diddn't eat by then I went hungry, after a few days of that you dont even want dinner and have to force yourself to eat, which I reccomend. If I diddn't eat by then I drank more beer to compensate, which only made you pee more. For luch I ate soup/Chili, Ravioli, nothing really special or diet, I diddn't eat nothing really healthy I just cut out Bk ect. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Funny enough Jimmy Joined us on one of our birdman big way jumps. I asked him to come play he said, ok do you have a suit, I gave him a S3 rig and all and he came along. He got in the jump and had a lot of fun, he did say "I dont know why you guys wear those suits can I come along later with my Freefly suit" I wish he could have made it, Id love to see how well he would have done. First I have to say this, I cant speak for PD this is my own opinion and observation. Ive been to every heavy drop test PD has done over the past year and a half. I can say they use industry standard freebags, I know this because I packed a bunch of them, no rubberbands. PD does drop tests to see how their designs work and also how to improve on them. Pass or fail if they arent 100% happy with the results the canopy isnt sold. Using rubberbands on the freebag will slow the snatch on the deployment at high speed but will slow the deployment on low speed. Using rubberbands on the freebag for heavy drops is cheating unless you sell your canopies to be used with a rubberband only freebag. All in all it doesn't show how a reserve will function in the real world because only one manufacturer uses rubberbands, it isn't industry standard.
