When did you stop being nervous?

turned 35 the day of my first jump. the nerves of "holy cannoli" i'm jumping out of a plane lessened by my 3rd jump. and i became more nervous about completing the AFF level objectives. after my 22nd jump i wasn't "nervous". it was my first solo. after landing i realized that "i can do this!" and now the fun really begins. i still have a healthy respect for the danger and am very safety conscious. i also know i have a long road of learning ahead but i'm glad because i know the journey is going to be a blast. diamonds are a dawgs best friend -
thanks for the replies. but what i'm looking for was actually a sheet you could print out with canopy outlines and you could use crayons or markers to color them. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

awhile back i ran across a gear site that had a pdf link for printable sheets for 7 and 9 cell canopies outlines. so you could color them. they were actually called "color up sheets". anyone know where i can find this link? thanks diamonds are a dawgs best friend

why don't you be the one calling people to go do something? i don't recall who said it but i once heard "the best way to have friends is to be one". ask people to jump with you. instead of waiting for them to ask you. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

when i read the title i thought this was a post about the Primus song "dmv". but there are a couple of possible answers to your question. 1) the stuff you've been smoking has a much higher THC content or 2) your friend has developed a tolerance for THC or 3) or you are a light weight and your friend is smoking low grade stuff. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

Z1 or Oxygn? i've worn a friends Z1 and didn't have any problems. i emailed skysystems but the response wasn't clear enough. so i thought i'd ask here. i can afford either one but the Oxygn is $25 cheaper tha the Z1. that's a jump and 5$ toward another. diamonds are a dawgs best friend -
FWIW- my situation is very similar to yours. i weight 140 myself. and need weights to increase my fall rate. so with 10 lbs. of lead and gear that puts my exit weight up to around 170. during AFF i progressed thusly: 200, 190, 175. i've also jumped a friends 170. upon asking people who've seen me land and fly, they say could jump a 150. however i plan on staying on the safe side and buying a used 170 for my first canopy. putting a bunch of jumps on it while improving my canopy skills. then getting a 150 when i buy a brand new canopy. stay safe & blue skies. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

after dealing with dortors and my insurance co. for the past month, i'm finally having hernia surgery tomorrow. i'm hoping all goes well and i have a speedy recovery so i can get back to jumping. thanks and blue skies! diamonds are a dawgs best friend

for books and videos check out paragear or square 1. they are some of the larger gear stores that carry skydiving and base vids. when you join the USPA your membership fee includes a suscription to Parachutist magazine. lots of ads for gear. there's info on buying gear and gear reviews here. see the links at the top of the page. check out the base wiki page, and the base section of these forums for more info and links related to base gear. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

i love when Mr. Hankey shows up for the first time. cartman singing- "kyle's mom is a big fat bitch" is classic. also love the one where cartman saves the town from the hippie jam fest by playing Slayer over the PA. because Slayer is my all time favorite band and there were lots of funny parts too. from the recent episodes i like the whole Buck Rogers take in the one where cartman goes too far into the future trying to get a video game system. diamonds are a dawgs best friend
