recently picked up HELLYEAH, it's members of Nothingface, Mudvayne, and Vinnie Paul on drums. very good! other metal bands i like: Nevermore, Into Eternity, Arch Enemy, Mastodon, Strapping Young Lad and Mastery. also if you like diverse guitarist John 5 (solo guitarist and currently with Rob Zombie) has a new solo album coming out May 2nd. i could name more bands but it'd take up too much space. PM me if you have more metal music ?s. my metal history and listening goes back to 1982. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

How Superstitious a Skydiver are you?
countzero replied to Yossarian's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
after we reach 10k i do a short breathing/ mental picture exercise before every jump. it's more to relax than a superstition. i jump with new a piece of gum in my pocket, which i chew while i'm packing for the next jump. the times i've jumped without the gum i've either landed off or had a rough landing. so on that point i'm superstitious. the hand shakes in the plane i view as part of the camaraderie. and as for the gear checks, pin checks and touching my handles multiple times: better safe than sorry. diamonds are a dawgs best friend -
put it in a hot oven or in the freezer, run over it with your car, get a couple of dogs to play tug-of-war with it. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

i like it because i'd have $ for more jumps. i'd still be paying the consumption tax on: gas to get to the DZ, the food i bought for my sack lunch, and the beer i bought to drink with my friends. but being able to decide how i spend my $ instead of the gvt. just taking it sure would be nice. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

too true. as i'm a fairly new jumper i've found lots of skydivers more than willing to share information both here and at my DZ. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

Does the Cessna 182 Still Dominate Skydiving?
countzero replied to tombuch's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
here in Texas of the 17 DZs listed in the database on this site, 10 are Cessna DZs. diamonds are a dawgs best friend -
as you're at a new DZ just hang out, jump and get to know your fellow jumpers. you'll end up meeting some locals you could talk to about BASE. plus people will take you more seriously the better they know you. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

for just using stock speakers- pioneer, kenwood and sony, will do the job nicely. for a full system with external amps and eq. i prefer alpine or eclipse. i have a spare sony CDX-M620. pm if interested. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

IIRC headphone type devices are limited in how much volume they can produce for safety reasons. i.e. to avoid hearing loss lawsuits. thus summing stero signal into a mono one with it's origional playing device wont yeild more volume. to achieve what you want you'd need an external amplifier between the outputs of your device and the speaker. plus you'd need a power source for said external amplifier. though there are small digital amplifiers and there may be ones that can be battery powered. to me it just seems like alot of extra things to stuff into a helmet just for tunes. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

Do you talk skydiving lingo outside of skydiving?
countzero replied to RkyMtnHigh's topic in The Bonfire
about a month ago when declining a second piece of cake for a co-workers birthday i said "no thanks, i'm watching my fall rate". definatley got a weird look for that one. diamonds are a dawgs best friend -

countzero replied to dbattman's topic in The Bonfire
