  1. Hippotherapy rocks!! Do you have more than one kind of prosthetic (ie walking, sports, etc?) You rock.
  2. PS....you look like you're about 12!!
  3. Bigger version of my avatar... without the black 'wig'. Gotta love paint shop....
  4. Dang you're fast! I was just going to say that!
  5. My suggestion? Try troubleshooter.com. Tom Martino has connections everywhere, and he's not afraid to go up against anybody if they're in the wrong.
  6. This is exactly what happened to me on my second landing. I've been wondering all along if I did something wrong to cause it; perhaps pulling my legs up too high, so instead of my butt taking the impact, my tailbone did. Also wondering why we didn't try a stand up landing; I tried to ask details after the second landing but my TI was being pressured to take off for another load and really didn't have time to elaborate. He was quite a bit bigger than me, prob 6ft, I'm 5'4'' and 130 lbs, am in good physical shape, more or less. The winds were calm. I'm just bummed because it does take a long time for a coccyx to heal, and I can't really even do the tunnel right now. Just made it back to the gym once this week and had to be reallly careful. It didn't discourage me from wanting to progress, however. I just don't like the delay while my tailbone heals. Thanks for the info~ Yvonne
  7. Sounds like each TI has their own criteria for determining type of landing. Thanks for the info everyone!
  8. Forgive me if this has been addressed in another thread, but I did search and didn't find the exact question I have. When landing a tandem, what factors does the instructor use to determine standup vs sliding in on the butt?
  9. I think you should go in to the doctor and rule out anything serious. And get some flexoril if it's truly just a spasm.
  10. lol! Keith, I gotta hand it to you, you rock! Wish you lived in close proximity, because I think we could get into a lot of trouble together!
  11. ummm...both? and believe me, I WOULD be smiling!!
  12. The truth is always difficult. We all want to hear what we want to hear, but it's not always the truth. The only way we learn about ourselves is by admitting the truth. As for the so-called feminists, the problem I have with feminists is when I feel I'm being told to get rid of my femininity. Hell, men and women are different-thank God!!!!. I think I can be an independent, assertive woman and still enjoy being a woman. Being a woman does not mean emulating a man. In my opinion anyway. I'm thinkin' you're right. Oh Keith, I love it when you talk dirty to me!! My ex-husband used to try to get at me by calling me a bitch. Being called a bitch has never bothered me. I told him, yep, I am a bitch when I need to be!! Sometimes, you gotta do what you gotta do. But for the most part, I let the bitch hang loose.
  13. Remember, she's a girl. (the puppy, I mean)
  14. Keith!!!! How the heck are you? I was wondering where you were! Your story is funny. Reminds me of one a corporate exec told us (I'm thinking now she probably had heard it elsewhere and it didn't really happen to her). She said she knew that her and her family went out to eat too often when someone asked her 3 year old what his last name was, and he said, "Smith-party-of-four".
  15. It depends on a person's security within the relationship. If you and the new person have just started the relationship, he's going to be a bit more insecure than if you've been together awhile. Of course, if you have been together awhile, then it's just the new guy's lack of security within himself, and you can't fix that!
  16. Well, hell. I didn't think of Simone. But I am amazingly honest about women. And my real first name is French. Of course, I'm amazingly honest about everything. Well, I call it that. Others just say I'm an opinionated bitch. Semantics.
  17. No, I think that's referred to as standing at attention...
  18. wow!! it is so hot all of the sudden. ....leaving to take a cold shower........
  19. (I already told her she's my hero! )
  20. yeah, but I'm somewhere between the two. Not that I've spent any amount of time at the local DZ, but I'm not hearing the fun comraderie stories about it that ya'll are posting about. Guess I'll have to make my own fun! edited to add: However, the tunnel crowd is pretty damn fun!
  21. Oops!! Sorry, that does sound like I was implying that. Actually, I'm the one who's stupid. I signed up the first night I was ever on this sight, and had never even read any posts. So I assure you I'd made no judgements to that effect. Just pulled the name out of -somewhere- and didn't think about the gender connotations. Sorry everybody!! Perverts, yes, stupid, hell no!!
  22. It really sounds like all the fun people live in the Eastern part of the US; or are from the UK. What's up with that? oh, and uh, my numbers would all be zeros if I were a real skydiver.
