  1. i don't think this is the case. O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  2. not Palestinians, but Arabs (or what used to be their ancestors...), the first Jewish kingdom was destroyed by the Babylonians around 600 BCE, and most of the population was exiled. around 500BCE many were allowed back by the Persians who took over after the babylonians and around 70 CE it was wiped out by Romans. resulting in jews being scattered all over the world. so why going back 100 years back? why not 2000? 5000? this "who was here first" argument will lead us nowhere. the palestinians didn't have it any better in the 70's under Jordanian/Egyptian rule (lookup "black september") nor do they live better in Lebanon today, and you can consider the fact that both egypt and Jordan has signed a peace treaty with Israel without even claiming these lands back (including Jerusalem which is their 3rd most important site...), to understand how they've treated this issue now they will have Gaza and a lot of international aid, lets see how well can they take care of things there. 3. yes , lets see. there was nothing there before. only sand. oh sorry, there was one one settlement there that got destroyed by the egyptians when they've invaded at 1948. for the millionth time, there was never "palestinian land". if anything, it was egyptian and they refused to take it back when the peace treaty was signed. i do support pulling out of Gaza because its not logical to be there and its a smart strategic choice to get out of there. the PA has done nothing in recent years to deserve this action as part of the peace process and although hamas and other peaceful groups see it as a victory for their terroristic way i really hope the PA will take this opportunity to show it can take care of its own people. lets hope the billions of dollars currently going to gaza will finally find its way into the palestinian people (who do suffer from the situation) and not to the corrupted PA officials. i do feel bad for them. just like i feel bad for my family who was kicked out of Hebron in the riots of 1936 and for the hundreds of thousands of Jewish arabs (including from your beloved Iran) that were kicked out from their homes and forced to move to israel with nothing but the clothes they were wearing. the main difference is that Israel took care of its refugees where the arab world (who is always happy to point a finger at israel) didn't really do anything to help them (excluding the $25K if you blow up a bus) O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  4. yeap, same group. they just arrived a week earlier there were Barak, Matty and Nir (and maybe someone else) let me know if you want to contact any of them, i'll give you their details... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  5. I've worked for Comverse for 4 years, so i guess i'm responsible for these attacks. and by your logic, you reading and replying to my posts make you "an acquaintance" of mine, meaning you are an immediate suspect. PS Comverse's main business is mobile services and most likely your voicemail service is theirs, so be careful with the messaged you leave, someone must be watching... 6. only because we had a few weather induced stand-by's... i want to thank Roman too, on behalf of the whole group. the immediate helicopter evac, making sure he is being cared for in the hospital, and helping us in getting him safely to moscow and then home using the best ambulance service available. i've only been to 6 DZs around the world, but aerograd is the best i've beed to yet. O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  7. yeap. he was in the big group me and Yoram (from the post above). good times... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  8. i was there, although i'm not sure i got to meet you... oh well, probably be back next year... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  9. which is a lot scarier... one of terror's goals: have no clear return address... "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  10. and i suppose you think we've placed the Israeli woman who has died on the bus in London there on purpose to make it more convincing? go find yourself a hobby... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  11. do you really believe this? i mean, do you REALLY believe that israel would plan such an attack, send its #2 to oversee it, and then publish he was warned in advance (which is still not factual)? besides, how do you KNOW it wasnt the arabs? your whole theory relies on the possibility that there was some kind of warning. well, a) as i've heard it, he was confied to his hotel room after the first explosion, and b) there are terror warnings all the time (and sometimes too many, where security forces want to cover their asses in case something happens.) all these theories of israelis being warned in advance were heard after 9/11 also (and they were pure crap then too) and just that you know it there is a missing israeli woman in london too. i've just returned from Madrid this morning, i was amazed to see that in a city that have experienced terror recently there is almost no security what so ever. this includes metro stations and the airport in which you can go almost go where ever you want unchecked. its often said that the US took security checks to the extreme (although checking you 5 times before flight is not very useful imho), but europe is still in a state of denial. there is a new force in the world. it seeks destruction and it will hit with out the need for an obvious reason. and this force is not israel... 12. and their advice is better than his rigger's and chief instructor who's seen most if not all of his landings? i have no problem with being "too safe" but a S2 170, loaded ~1:1 is not that extreme for his level, especially when he'll be helped using a radio for as long as he feels that he needs one. O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  13. it was pretty obvious , i'm just saying that its not the wild wild west here and most people have only held a gun during their military service (which sadly, is still needed here). i'm glad he had lots of fun and i hope you'll join him on his next trip (although all i can offer you are 2 caravans to jump from...) O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  14. don't want to burst your bubble, but we really don't . we (usually) run our everyday lives just as you do... i was invited to this event also (along with a few other civilian jumpers). it was mainly to celebrate 60 years to the WWII victory as a memorial to paratroopers. there were about 80 paratroopers from around the world, including an 83 year old guy who actually jumped in WWII (i can hardly imagine myself walking at 83...) anyway, i'm glad he had fun, and hopefully he got to see more than big guns
  15. and it took even less for mine O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  16. its not my video and all i have is that pic, but i've seen several other still captures with a similar effect, so i tend to agree that its normal (either a temporary line thing or a simple video mirage) thanks for your input O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  17. its a katana, and its not mine. if it was i would have known the end of this deployment O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  18. could some lines NOT go through the slider? i dont remember seeing a canopy with lines that don't go through the slider... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  19. take a look at the attached picture. now please tell me (if you can), what are the lines marked with the red arrow doing there, instead of going straight through the slider? the only thing i can think of is a line over, but afaik, that wasn't the case. any ideas? thanks O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  20. when i was in france, we had not problems with the airline, but the airport police (their TSA) wouldn't allow the rig as carry-on (or as she put it: "my airport, my rules" ). we had to go all the way back to the checkin counter and back (which btw, was very easy and unsecured through a few side doors, talk about security...) O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  21. we've had hot water in the hotel. there was a problem only on the last day and we were told that most of the town was without hot water (and btw, when i say cold water, i mean cryogenic style cold...) btw, the hotel have simple rooms (which were good enough), but it also has a few suites that are very very very nice. the few spoiled brats of our group stayed there... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  22. You shall not take the name of the Kournikova in vain... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  23. in my case it took a bit more than 48 hours, but i was just notified yesterday that my canopy is ready more than a week early !! now if they throw in a t-shirt, i'll be even prouder wearing it O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  24. last time when we tried, the response was "the hotel always has spare rooms". you can contact the DZ and ask them to help you, but you can show up and get a room, it is a pretty big hotel. O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  25. Hey Max. don't forget you've promised me a couple of RW jumps we'll be there for the last 2 weeks of july. O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
