    The Economy

Don't wait... absolutely. Technically we may be there. Possibly another 2-3% prompted by fear. Anyway, it sucks and we'll have to deal with it. Look forward to the weekend at the DZ whether you are jumping or just hanging out.

    The Economy

The Economy: an oxymoron, don't you think? Any thoughts on the REAL world and current events??
  3. Yeah, nice to see the Perrisians at 'Snore. And thanks for stopping by the Carlisle Compound at midnight and listening to my sea stories and lies...
  4. Bummer, but a very interesting article.
  5. Yes, strange day at Elsinore during the SSL. We had several teams going to their alternate because of sprained ankles on landing and one hard opening; on a Spectre. I even got clobbered during a block move. Got kneed in the back of the head, but mostly from the side. Now I know why they call that block the Stardian.
  6. Sounds like Elsinore....
  7. Yep, the horizontal opening. I have gone out at 3.8, tracked up and counted to around 12 seconds and pulled only to find that I got a few hundred feet of freefall. I also noticed when I checked the spot that the plane was really hauling ass. Quite possibly I was falling "lateral" and never really got off the hill.
  8. Paid the rush fee and it was 7 days until I got to jump in my suit from the day I ordered it. That was from FliteSuit. I've got 3 rw suits from them.
  9. A better investment would be SPAM. You have the entree and then jello for desert all in one can. Personally, I like the beer investment.
  10. Hi Lisa, We actually deal with the exercise of corporate stock options. We also discourage our clients from staying in "highly" concentrated positions. Read: their company stock. Those who did NOT listen found themselves losing their ass and subjected to margin calls. I personally like preservation of capital and have our "smarter" clients in municipal bond portfolios. Looks like your broker got you to chase the "hot dot" and it blew up. Like the say, the market is driven by fear and greed. Hope all turns around and will be better for everyone. It sucks to see people lose money and even worse when it is your own. And I am sticking to skydiving. I also enjoy jumping with and teaching students, but it doesn't pay that well, not that I'm doing it for the money. In fact, I use my own ticket and jump for free with them post "A" license. Yes, I am glad the market is closed on weekends. They should be open only 4 days a week.
  11. SpasticMonkey, I will definitely tell my clients that. Besides, I'm tired of hearing all their whining and shit. They never listen to me anyway. I will also forward your tip to my branch manager. "She" will love it! Yep, I can't wait till the market closes tomorrow. Because then I head to the playground, I mean dropzone! Assist with the h2o training and make beer money, then party without puking, not getting into a coma, and do 6 rounds of 4 way in the SSL. Do a couple of night jumps and watch the FNGs land out. And finally drink some badass homebrew!!
  12. very easily done. have one of the packers or experienced jumper show you. else see your rigger for assistance.
  13. Anyone have good Wrap Videos? I'll post one as soon as I can get my copy back. I was flying Pin, Kliff docked on me and got wrapped by Doug flying #4. He did not cutaway and a few seconds later he was flying docked on the formation. We went on to build the 7 stack and flew so another guy could take some shots at it for a CCS. Wendy? Got any? Mark
  14. Are they still issuing DB numbers??
  15. Having your feet on your butt is just a bandaid. You should really be arching with proper presentation to the wind will make it easier to fly right out the door. I've seen lots of good skydivers without their feet on there ass when I fly the Tail. If all else fails, seek good RW coaching. That's what they are there for.
  16. Congrats Christina! Wow, that's a lot of jumps for a few weeks! Keep up the good work, too. Shark

    Recent injury

Bummer. Sorry do hear that. You might want to check with your EDD to see if you qualify for benefits. You may also be eligible for some sort of disabilities, although not technically work related. Best of luck. Shark CCR-2113 CCS-xxxx

Jefe, Show up early and hook up with Mikey. I think he might be able to place you. ...and lie about your jump numbers.
  19. Gary, Whoa!! Could this explain why I don't listen to chicks?? (At least that's what they say.)
  20. So the jumps last weekend are going to mean something? You guys/girls aren't training for anything are you?
  21. Ah, the CReW crew! (sorta)
  22. Yup, I got a 193, but have never used this particular canopy for crew. Although I use/borrow a 143, your big-ass canopy should be okay for basic stuff like stacks or planes. I've been on a few jumps where we had all sorts of sizes and managed some neat formations. But for Rots & Sequential you will need to be at the same wingloading. Like Wendy mentioned, 1.2 to 1.3. Here's a pic. I'm docked 2nd w/ a L193. The pilot is on a 143 and the guy docked on me has a L193 as well. The rest of the stack ranged from 143s, 160s and a 126.
  23. Except for CReW. I like to have mine undone along with the main flap just before exit time.
  24. you might wanna tell 'em it's a lot faster when the green light comes on.
  25. Dude, You need to spend more time (read: money) at the DZ. ....or become an engineer.
