whoa nelly... no one is getting inflammatory here. I'm just saying that this is ONE WAY for elderly people to originally acquire an STD or HIV. elderly abuse may not occur at YOUR facility, but it DOES happen. I did emergency psychiatric work for 6 years and a fair share of the crises I responded to were at nursing homes that could no longer manage an acute patient. In more than one instance, after a little digging, turns out the patient was "acute" b/c she was being molested. obviously, other routes of infection occur, such as the fact that some elderly patients were promiscuous prior to becoming patients of a particular facility and have now "spread the love."
