  1. Reported where? Specifically I want to read about the effectiveness of attacks increasing. - Dan G
  2. There's a big difference between "no crime was committed" and "Plame was not outed". Care to clarify your position? - Dan G
  3. The reason in defining them that way was so we didn't have to treat them like POWs, which they are (IMHO). It was bullshit when Bush did it, and it was bullshit when Obama continued it. - Dan G
  4. If you'll pardon my recall of modern physics 101, I believe the speed of light limit only applies to objects with mass. Quantum states are massless. In fact, they are pretty much "anythingless" so I'm not sure that the speed limit applies. - Dan G
  5. Blowing my freaking mind. Does this imply faster than light communications capability? - Dan G
  6. It may have been impossible to do that if they didn't know where he was being hidden. It took us ten years to find bin Laden. Any we never found some POWs from Vietnam. I also take issue with labeling anyone we don't like as terrorists. As far as the Taliban are concerned, I don't see them as terrorists. They are the remnants of an ousted government. They certainly aligned themselves with terrorists (AQ, Haqqani, Hamas) but the Taliban organization was a national government that we removed from power. Just read the bios provided above for the five men we traded. They were high government officials of another nation, not unaligned individual actors. 7. So why was Scooter Libby convicted again? For lying. If he didn't out her, then why would he lie about it? Your version of this controversy makes no sense. - Dan G
  8. So we know so much about their activities, why weren't they put on trial over the last 10+ years? Especially those wanted by the UN for war crimes? - Dan G
  9. Ooooh, snarky. - Dan G
  10. I can't imagine the negative impact on morale if soldiers questioned for one second that the US would do everything in it's power to rescue them from capture. - Dan G
  11. As far as I'm concerned, an American soldier in enemy hands should be rescued regardless of how he got there. If it is found that he deserted his post, then he should be subject to a court martial. - Dan G
  12. I honestly don't know. It could be as simple as wanting to clean up loose ends before the withdrawal. Or, the opportunity could have presented itself, and he moved on it. Having the Qataris act as intermediaries may have set up the conditions for a trade that weren't possible before. - Dan G
  13. You're funny. So why does everyone in the world know Plame was a CIA agent? - Dan G
  14. No way, there might be children in that house. And you're giving him a perfect view in the bedroom windows of all the houses on the street. - Dan G
  15. What about the women who work there? You want them standing next to the guy all day, perhaps having incidental physical contact? - Dan G
  16. Well stated, and forgive me if you said this earlier and I missed it, but what about the possibility of executing an innocent man? Is the supposed deterrent effect worth it? - Dan G
  17. Can you think of an example of a job a registered sex offender should be allowed to hold? - Dan G
  18. And a Prius c is $19k, but according to rick, that's out of the reach of most American consumers. So much for NG cars. Too bad. - Dan G
  19. It doesn't seem that way from the anecdotal evidence in that article. It seems more like one strike and you're out, potentially for life. I don't follow you. What are you referring to? - Dan G
  20. Do you have an opinion on the New Yorker article I posted upthread? - Dan G
