You misunderstood. We were not in a ression. There is no such thing as a ression. He never said we weren't in a recession. - Dan G

I have no doubt about that. What I doubt is that he knows he is going to end up in Iraq and Syria. Especially Syria. He may have been told that by his chain of command, but that doesn't make it correct. - Dan G

All that lists shows is that solar is a highly competitive market, with lots of companies entering and exiting. It says nothing about the viability of the technology. - Dan G

I very much doubt he has been given any detailed information about where they are going to be building anything. He has probably received a warning order that they may end up in various countries. If you think the DoD is disseminating down to individual National Guardsmen in May that they are planning to have ground troops in Syria next year, I don't think you understand how military planning works. - Dan G

We have had a strong military presence in Kuwait for decades. That hasn't significantly changed under Obama. Obviously you meant Iraq. The question is, are they rebuilding bases or just maintaining bases, and who are they building/maintaining them for? Are you saying that you have inside knowledge of a significant US military buildup in Iraq? Are we reinvading and only you and your NG neighbor know about it? And Syria. Really? He's going into Syria to rebuild US military bases that have been neglected because the US ground troops in Syria were pulled out too early? You might want to check your facts. - Dan G

What part of the Middle East? We still have troops all over the region. - Dan G

Oh, so they are right about that part of the mythology, but wrong about everything else? Religion isn't a popularity contest. If your God is an all knowing and all powerful God, and he personally wrote his own textbook, that textbook has to be 100% right about everything, or it is garbage. - Dan G

That pastor is a secret Muslim. I can tell. - Dan G

I've been around the sport for 20 years. In that time I haven't known anyone who died in a car accident. I need two hands to count the people I've known who died skydiving. My experience is not unique. That being said, skydiving can be done relatively safely. Shit can happen to anyone, but most shit that happens can be seen coming. - Dan G

Duh. Ivory would not be a suitable material for tower construction. - Dan G

I agree about the severity of many sex crimes (indecent exposure for streaking is now considered a sex crime), but the statute of limitations has important practical foundations. It can be very hard to give someone a fair trial decades later when physical evidence is missing, people's memories have changed, witnesses can't be found, etc. That being said, Hastert is a monster. - Dan G

Unfortunately it was "Payment structurer: 15 months" He was never tried for the molestation, and never will be. If he hadn't been a Congressman and under financial scrutiny, he probably never would have gotten caught at all. - Dan G

Not even close. People need to stop saying this, it is ridiculous. - Dan G

CLEANS THEIR DATA!!! See, science is all a scam! Bee prepared for that quote to be used by some denier in your field to argue that all your data is cooked, and you're so brazen about it that you post the evidence on-line. - Dan G

Do local jurisdictions (cities, towns, counties) have the right to govern folks as they see fit, or only States? - Dan G

Sure it was intentional, buddy. Sure. - Dan G

You missed the joke. The rule is, "When you criticize someone else's spelling or grammar, you will invariable make a mistake yourself." Normiss misspelled 'misspelling'. - Dan G

Isn't there a rule about criticizing someone else's spelling or grammar? - Dan G

It clearly had an agenda. I thought you said you read the article. He points out a bunch of studies that purport to show bad science. He apparently didn't do any research into good science, or if he did he decided to keep it to himself. His premise that all science these days is suspect, but his paper itself is an excellent example of the problem he is writing about. He starts with the premise that science is junk, and then looks for confirmation. He doesn't present any evidence that doesn't comport with his beliefs. If you read to the end you'd see that he's trying to show that science is just as flawed as religion because it is in the hands of flawed humans. It is a ridiculous premise. It would have been a more interesting article if it didn't have a pro-religion/anti-science undercurrent. - Dan G

Great idea! They could be separate...but equal. - Dan G

I read/scanned it. The piece had an agenda. Exactly the problem with scientific articles that the author was complaining about. - Dan G
