.... where the intro to footage of a CRW wrap was described as "guaranteed to put you off parachuting for life" ... (funnily enough, the horror car wreck later on was not described as "guaranteed to put you off driving for life") Ironic, ain't it? Just burning a hole in the sky.....

We have alot a gusty days at Mile High in the parameters you describe- so even though I have only 100 jumps I have landed in many gusty conditions. Gusty conditions are not fun, especially when your canopy will fold up about halfway and then reinflate at about 500 ft. Makes me nervous... I would ride the airplane down because I don't get charged for the airplane ride, and I will definately be unbroken for the next jump. Just burning a hole in the sky.....

still coughing, snorting, rolling around on the floor. If you get out to Colorado soon maybe you could talk to me a little(after all, my B number is lower than yours)....even if we did not get to jump together. Make it soon though, your SKYGOD status might wear off after a little more experience. Just burning a hole in the sky.....

Questions About Skydiving

...and found a world of slightly dysfunctional people that make everyday more fun than the one before. Now THAT is a really nice way of describing me and the bunch of loony whack jobs I have found at the dropzones I have been to. Thanks! Just burning a hole in the sky..... -
How extreme a skydiver are you

QuoteI do things that may look extreme, that are impressive to see - but to me are easy, well rehearsed, practiced, and mostly safe. I think the notion of "extreme" as a marketing gimmick is entertaining, but as a goal is ridiculous and disrespectful to those who care about you. /reply] WELL SAID. I deploy my Triathlon 160 from full wingsuit flight. I got no bruises, pain or what so ever... Roger that. I am willing to bet you have good body position when you do. I have deployed in a full track before ( I jump a wingsuit modified rig and hope to do some wingsuit jumps in the future) just to see how the rig works and had no problems...but I was concentrating on good body position when I did it. None of this goofy semi-fetal head down crap. Just burning a hole in the sky.....

...mainly to look for people who are in the sport to push boundrys, i am intrested in where that is being done!! With your experience level it sounds like you are "intrested" in going SPLAT. Take it from someone who did just a very minor SPLAT and ended up with a $50,000 leg full of "kewl titanium alloy parts", it ain't much fun to pay the consequences... Congratulations Benjamin!! Welcome to the best sport in the world! Keep jumping and encouraging others to do the same! Just burning a hole in the sky.....

In addition to the comments above, don't forget the important role that body position at deployment plays. This article helped me stop hard openings by learning better body position at deployment time: [url]http://www.canopyskills.com/Docs/BodyLanguage.pdf Good Advice. I had some semi-hard openings on my Sabre 2 190 and after a riser slap in the face and some soul searching about my pulls, figured out I was rushing my pull sequence after wave off, resulting in a rather head down body position at the throw. Now I reach and contact my hackey, then adjust my body position as needed and ARCH, throw. It is a slower rhythm, costs a few hundred feet, but my openings are smooth and my crotch does not ache by the end of the day anymore. Just burning a hole in the sky.....

Hello Derek you Wild Man! I am quite confident that I understand things about the jump planes, aerodynamics in general, and the technical aspects of my equipment much better than most 100 jump skydivers, mainly due to my interest in and experience in general aviation. My safety awareness is a priority to me, maybe above average for a newbie. My flying skills have weakened due to my layoff from shoulder surgery and lack of tunnel time in the last year, so if you need someone to funnel your four way I'm your man. but I wonder how much fuel on of those burns in one load to 10k? Probably about 100 gallons.....But what a great part of aviation history! Just burning a hole in the sky.....

i want to start AFF but dont have the cash flow right yet, whats a man to do? Get a job or a second job if you find that you want to be a skydiver. You will find a way if you want it bad enough. My guess is one trip out the door and you will be hooked! Just burning a hole in the sky.....

FINALLY after four years, one broken leg, shoulder surgery, long lay-offs..... I did my 100th jump on Sunday May 4! We planned a 4 way hybrid ( My good friend Troy ALSO was on his 100th jump) but as the saying goes- best laid plans...it funneled but it was still one of the most fun skydives that I have done! Thanks Troy, Matt, Travis!!! Looking to 200! My youngest son Kelsey, the clean Marine home on leave, did his 18th skydive as well. It was a great day at the DZ!! Just burning a hole in the sky.....

Skydiving isn't something that most people really want to do over and over. It's okay if you don't want to do it. Just go out, do another tandem, and if you don't really enjoy it don't get into the sport. Well said and GOOD ADVICE, Mark. To the OP - Take Mark's advice. If after another jump, you don't feel any different, don't jump any more. You can support your wife's skydiving by videoing her landings, helping her learn how to pack, learning the equipment, etc. and share it with her from the ground. There is no honor or shame in jumping or not jumping-if it is for you do it, if not, relax and help her enjoy the sport. On my first 10 jumps (AFF) I was so damn scared they had to almost throw me out of the plane, but I did not want to stop. That is how you know if it is for you. Just burning a hole in the sky.....

I have 2 sons, both skydivers, both Marines. If you are getting at the issue of should I stop jumping because I now have a child, I say no. Jump well and don't take undue risks, but don't alter your lifestyle.
