And like that, another thread is gone.

This is so 2004. Why didn't your poll include "someday, but I have no idea when"?

as are carpool lanes They're like crack cocaine for the stressed commuter.

This morning I passed a trailways type bus with all the passenger windows painted white. The bus was white, too. On the side: "U.S. Department of Immigration - Enforcement" It's 1389 miles to the Mexican border. Kinda makes you wonder...

The 2003 war in Iraq - does anybody still fully support it?
NCclimber replied to vortexring's topic in Speakers Corner
Please explain how we have tied any aspect of this war to Christianity. If it can be imagined (US troops = Christian soldiers), then it can be considered likely? .... especially if it supports your POV. -

Looking at the CO2 levels going back 100s of thousands of years, what is the explanation for the peak and subsequent decline of both CO2 and global temperatures? How could CO2 levels continue to rise, even as temps fell? -
1.- PEMEX (Mexican Petroleum Company) 2.- CFE (Federal Power Commission) 3.- America Telecom 4.- Carso Global 5.- CEMEX (Mexican Cement Company) There. And here's the link http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/global500/2006/countries/M.html Fortune Global 500 is a different group than the Fortune 500.

Back in '94, the Republicans regained control of Congress. By the end of the first 100 days, all ten items in the "Contract with America" came to the House for a vote, as promised. How do you think the new Democratic controlled Congress has performed?
-
I guess it was wishful thinking that your responses would become substantive as the day wore on. Wassup Pot? It is pretty funny how you go about chastising others for the same low-brow tactics that you use.
-
Ineffective backpedal -- your previous post implied exactly that. In the mind of US policy space is rightfully theirs because the alternative is sharing it with China or Russia. Presently, we share it with over 50 other countries. Or do orbiting satellites/payloads not count? Russia has more orbitting payloads than the US. Do they pay our goverment for the use of "our" territory?

That's funny. I thought they were there to support the constitution. How is the U.S. different from a dictatorship again? You might consider getting a new ladle.

Congress wants to sue OPEC for doing what it has been doing since it was formed????? Another reason for the rest of the world to laugh the US.

Oh. Forgive me. I hadn't been notified of the rulemaking change. Now I'm aware that pointing out mathematical errors is only relevant for everyone except you. I'll make a note of that. If it was merely mathematical errors, you might have a point.
-
Think you'll go for substantive replies later in the day? That's funny. Those of course are your own words. Insubstantial, eh? Of course, my post made sense and was relevant to the discussion, whereas your's was neither.

You're full of snipes and repetitive face icons this morning. Think you'll go for substantive replies later in the day? Sorry about that. Your post was so far out there I didn't think a substantive reply was warranted. Just one. -
Thanks for clarifying. No doubt, the dollar has fallen hard off its 2001 highs, but realize it was at current levels in '91, '92 & '95. As far the economy goes, it seems to be cranking along like a champ. Our debt issues certainly offset the rosy economic picture, but I don't think they completely offset it. Housing seems to be in a slump www.realestateabc.com/outlook/overall.htm, courtesy of Voodo lending practices. Slump? Down slightly more than one quarter of one percent? How about over the last five years? Ten years? Twenty years?

Whoah! This could be a previously undiscovered Denier position: "There is global warming and it's humanity's fault but blame the yellow people." This seems to be an intermediate step between the previously identified species of "There is global warming but it has nothing to do with humanity" and "There is global warming and it's humanity's fault but it's a good thing." Bong hits for breakfast? Sorry you seem to find the facts so upsetting. Perhaps it's time to fire another one up??? -

What was the point of the article, other than confirming something that was a given? If you're confused as to why CO2 levels have jumped, go look at China's pollution numbers. -

What causes Gravity?? Does anyone really know??

Perhaps he was just following your lead. I do get a kick out of irony. -
Do you think we're in better financial shape than we were 7 years ago??? I'd say the stock market and the economic indicators would be proof of that... My $US don't seem to be worth as much as they were 7 years ago. Inflation, even at what are considered modest or acceptable levels, causes currencies to devalue. This is basic stuff. How about the equity in your home? Has that decreased in value over the last seven years?

when exactly did it go through the roof? infolab.stanford.edu/~gary/deficit.jpg Sometime between 1980 and 1988, I suggest. I do get a kick out of those Budget "lite" numbers and charts. Feel free to post your own charts. I'm sure you can find some moving average that shows Reagan and Bush to be fiscally responsible. Lovely re-direct. Such a transparent ploy. Your chart showed a budget surplus of 236 Billion Dollars in 2000. If there was such a surplus, what happened to it? If there was such a surplus, why did the federal debt increase in 2000? Hmm
