  1. I was always confused about why so many of the PRO LIFE side of the political spectrum are also usually PRO WAR....and PRO State Sponsored murder..ie the Death Penalty...I guess retroactive abortion is ok with them. ________________________________ Those folks are just screwed-up!!! Chuck Yeah, yeah, yeah On the flip side, we have people who think it's cruel and unjust to terminate brutal psychopaths, but it's fine to kill innocent unborn babies.
  2. You whine about my use of "attempted". LOL That was your word choice when you posted "I recall there was once a massacre at a place called My Lai; that cover up was attempted (unsuccessfully) by one Major Colin Powell." Sure thing, professor. You just keep swinging away... whiffin 'em like a champ.
  3. 1- He actively participated in a personnel decision regarding his GF, going against the World Bankk code of Ethics rules 2- He negociated the increase directly with the HR VP, again, againts the ethics code of conduct 3- He did not inform the Ethic Commitee of this involvement nor of the reassignment and pay increase details Oh. I thought he was upfront with the ethics committee before starting the job, told them how he wanted it handled and when they said no, did as they directed,
  4. It's flattering that you co-op my buzz words. Luv ya, Mean it.
  5. I don't know. Considering World Bank doles outs tens of billions of dollars each year, a $30,000.00 snafu seems pretty minor. Perhaps we should put everyone in Congress under similar scrutiny, including every dollar of pork. Seems like everything he did, was done in plain site of Bank officials. It wasn't as if he did it all on the sly, which is how the media made it appear. No.
  6. Considering he had been specifically tasked by his commanding general with investigating reports of atrocities committed by his division, IT WAS HIS JOB TO FIND OUT ABOUT IT. One wonders why he was unaware of it. Are you now claiming that he was inept and incompetent? I'm just saying we have no evidence that Powell tried to cover it up, despite your claim that he did. You made the claim. I called you on it. You provided google results for colin powell my lai. Good show, ole boy. Talk about your damning evidence. You avoided the issue. I avoided the issue. You mean the one you're trying to use to distract from the issue of you posting a bullshit claim? LMAO I don't know! Really, I don't. Maybe he was a team player... doing cursory job... but not digging where he might find something he doesn't want to report. This still does nothing to prove he participated in an attempted coverup.
  7. It was never intended as a truthful statement. Sorry you continually seem to miss that. Well, of course, if you never INTENDED to be untruthful I intended it as hyperbole. Sorry you can't quite come to terms with that. This is funny considering you've made several claims that contained blatant lies. That's lies... as in more than one. And tried repeatedly to defend them. We're not talking about misunderstandings or shades of gray... just flat out lies. And all you've got in return, is a statement that was never intended to be treated as fact and I immediately said so, when asked about it.

  9. Ah, your point wasn't making a distinction between two different types of people afterall. I thought you were saying something interesting. Sorry. Some people tend to make simple matters needlessly complicated. Bummer.
  10. It was never intended as a truthful statement. sorry you continually seem to miss that. Then again, if that's all you've got to divert attention from the lies... blatant out and out lies... some people have posted, then... I guess I should just feel bad for you.
  11. If they're republicans? Of course! Guilt by affiliation! Classic.
  12. I'm still REALLY curious what the hell this means. Are you really making a distinction between two types of people? Can you tell us what this somewhat surprising claim means? I'm fascinated. Let's see if I can piece it together... there's a type of falsehood called "lie". People who lie don't ALWAYS lie. But there's another type of falsehood called "twist the facts" and anyone who does that can't help but keep doing it... Nah, I think I need more instruction before I'm going to get this one. I'll try and make this simple for you. If you catch someone lying to you, odds are they'll do it again. But that doesn't mean everything they say is a lie. Hope that helps.
  13. You mean the whole "trial by media" concept is a myth? It has been interesting to see the difference between what many were claiming and what actually happened. Besides giving his girlfriend a pay raise to $180,000.00, instead of the maximum of around $150,000.00, what other acts of wrongdoing did he commit?
  14. Ha! When I do it, it's not dishonestly twisting the facts. It's simply applying a little bit of judgment to see what the real truth is Wendy W. Clearly, it's your world and I'm just living in it.
  15. You keep offering up those elusive 'needles in the haystack" to confirm what otherwise seems to be made up. Those veiled PAs are a nice touch.
  16. Nice try, sporto. What I challenged was your use of Cheney's 2001 statements on the subject as examples of his intentionally lying. It was a bullshit false claim on your part. Just because someone is shown to have told a lie, that doesn't mean everything they say is a lie. On the other hand, I've personally noted that those who dishonestly twist the facts, tend to do so on a regular basis. C'est la vie.
  17. Love these off tangent diversions. My point to kallend - http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2824820#2824820
  18. typical of your strances.. rather than seeing the facts.. The sentence "The soldier had written about rumors of a massacre that Americal Division soldiers had committed in the hamlet of My Lai 4 in South Vietnam." said plenty about how this guy was presenting the facts. Lovely combo of rhetoric and PA. I don't doubt that, but those points do nothing to prove he attempted to coverup the My Lai Massacre. Here's the bottom line on this historical footnote. We have no proof Powell even knew about the massacre. It's kind of hard to cover something up that you're unaware of.
  19. I'm still waiting to read about what the Senate Intelligence Committee claimed to be classified and withheld. You could always try reading the report. On the off chance that your claims are true? Nice try. I did read a few articles on it. None mentioned the Bush administration "classified and withheld the intelligence unfavorable to its position from the Congress"
  20. OOOOOPS Stepped in that one ya did.... http://www.usvetdsp.com/story13.htmAhhh there is that fine bouquet of bullshit coming from the right again. What a lovely piece of extremism, playing a bit loose with the facts. Does that website paint anyone of prominence in a favorable light. From what I saw, they treat everyone with equal hostility.
  21. Oh boy. Semantics. I guess none of the information that was classified in 2002 has since been de-classified.
  22. That's all very damning, Bill. But is doesn't prove Kallend's claim: I'm still waiting to read about what the Senate Intelligence Committee claimed to be classified and withheld.
