A few posts back, you said "I think Trident has proved its success." Do you have anything more than testimonials to back it up? Any studies? I'm not trying to piss you off or anything. It's just that back in the 80s, there was a drug education program started here in the US. For years, all I heard was how great it was. Local politicians and advocates loves to heap praises on it. Then I got involved in a discussion about it with some people who actually had experience with the program. They said is was bogus. I'm not sure, but I think they produced some studies that showed it wasn't that effective. Sometimes the claims from advocates don't measure up to the actual reslults.

Seems like there are quite a few (bullshit) assumptions in this post.

Is that the law that required any physician receiving medicare or medicaid payments to provide a translator for anyone seaking medical care? That was some well thoughtout legislation. Doctors accepting government money were faced with taking on additional (ridiculous) costs or doing away with that part of their business, which involved telling many aging patients, who they'd taken care of for 30 or 40 years aging, "too bad", "see ya", "have a good life" and "good luck on finding a new doctor willing to accept minimally insured, ailing senior citizens."

Not to mention all those Democrats in Congress who supported Bush. It's the media's job to call BS on politicians of all stripes. They went to town on the Clinton BJ, though. You mean the backlash to his holding an unscheduled national address, to directly tell blatant lies to the American people and that whole lying to a grand jury business?

Bill, Do you consider accusing someone of making stuff up the same as asking them to back up their claims? Just wondering. -

Speaking of personal attacks, if you're going to accuse me of making stuff up, have the backbone to show what (specifically) you are talking about. I told you where I got my data. Show us yours. What SPECIFICALLY are you talking about? -

The USA is the third largest nation in terms of population too. How does the immigration look on a per-capita basis? Compared to the rest of the world, US immigration is twentyfold greater...on a per capita basis. Since you're "keepin' it real", how about using real data instead of fabricating it? According to the CIA factbook Australia and the UK both have a higher per-capita immigration rate than the USA. The UK had 570,000 immigrants last year on a population of 60M. For the USA (pop. 300M) to exceed that rate by twentyfold as you claim, the US would have to have had 57 million immigrants last year. Very funny. I didn't claim the US immigration rate was 20 times greater than that of every individual country. How unexpected that a smart guy like yourself would distort my words. -

This is now the 4th post in which you stuck that misspelling up his ass. Do you suppose you've made your point yet? Yep, he misspelled the word. There ya go. I don't know.... I'm a big fan of irony. When it comes to butt-stabbing analogies.... not so much. -
What are you talking about?

I do think some homeopathic methods are effective. My problem with the whole industry is it smacks of snake oil sales. Too many of the highly touted remedies don't perform as claimed when tested using accepted clinical methods. The sales pitch for many of the products use testimonial anecdotes. Can you say pycnogenol?

This is a newspaer for Black people by Black people, this is a link to the online edition, check out the headline... http://www.voice-online.co.uk/business_achievers.php The term in everyday usage by Black people....Put black into the search box. http://www.voice-online.co.uk/search/search.php I did a search for "blackman". All the responses were for someone with the last name of blackman. I asked you about the term "blackman" because I thought it might just be a British thing. Considering your assertions of living in a "cultraly educated society", I didn't think it was a spelling error... especially since you've repeatedly posted the term. Based on the search you recommended, it seems I was wrong on both counts. -

Is it common in your "cultraly educated society" to use a given word when defining that same word. In the cultural, educational wasteland known as the United States of America, we tend to frown on such practices. -

So, what you're saying is.. you approve of the practice, but you're too spineless to actually do it yourself. Kind of a cowardly brutality. What a charming mix. Where did I say I approve of it? I guess I just inferred it from your boastful "this is a far more tolerant and cultraly educated society than in most of the US." Silly me. Where do you dream this stuff up? What is "Soux"? Is that French? -
How predictable... the usual suspects chiming in about this being a case of excessive force. Does it matter that a 200 pound boy was pounding on an 85 pound girl? Does it matter that he ignore verbal commands to stop, which included telling him he would be tasered? Does using a taser really seem excessive concidering the fact the first blast on 50,000 volts seemed to have no effect on the boy?

Using your logic all Londoners should be freaking out everytime we see a blackman or Asian carrying a rucksac getting onto a tubetrain. Pull the emergency cord and demand their removal from the train. But we don't maybe becasue this is a far more tolerant and cultraly educated society than in most of the US. I really can't say anything more to you if you see this situtation the same as a "blackman" or Asian carrying a rucksac getting onto a tubetrain. This situation involved a combination of actions that together caused people to become concerned. Posters dismissing singular aspects of it, while ignoring the overall picture come across as being disagreeable for it's own sake. That, or they just don't get it. BTW Is the term "blackman" a product of your "cultraly educated society"? -

As of 2006, the United States accepts more legal immigrants as permanent residents than the rest of the world combined. While this alone doesn't prove GM's claim, it does shed some light on it. -
