  1. Oh. So "I won't come in your mouth" is a Catholic thing Wendy W. ---------------------------------------------------------- Uh, not anymore. Don't you watch the news?
  2. Wow! I bet the parties kick ass in your neighborhood!
  3. When you figure out how we as humans can sit back and appreciate what we do have, let me know. Put me in a room full of people and give everyone two jump tickets, but only give me one. I'm going to wonder what the hell is up! I think the bottom line is that if we can't empathize with someone, or with a group of people, their needs and wants are just about meaningless to us. My religion states that homosexuality is wrong. One more push towards the "no" vote. A lot of parents teach that homosexuality is wrong. Another push towards a "no" vote. I can understand where the return hate comes from. To put it into perspective...skydivers as a percentage of the population are a very small group. If a vote went out asking if we should be aloud to use various airports for our DZ's, and the majority voted no, I'd be pretty bitter and pissed off. I understand where people who want to marry same sex partners are coming from, but the advise about learning to appreciate what you do have is probably about the best I've seen.
  4. I agree strongly, but the time is now. Not when the call to dig up the armory comes. Each of us, together, has the power to shape our Nation, as well as the World. We need to use the tools we have at our disposal, and don't ever let up. There's great power in keeping your "enemy" segregated and of two hearts. As long as we overlook the fact that most of us have the same common goals, we will never succeed. We find comfort in fighting one another instead of speaking with a single voice, beacause that would mean that each of us would have to make allowances for the other.
  5. Watch for... .1) Fuel Rationing .2) Ammunition Availability Disappearing .3) Food Rationing .4) Forced Segregation Due To "Virus" .5) Public "Service" Announcements If this is ever to happen, we will see it coming very clearly. The government will never swoop down in mass on today's society without rendering us impotent, and dependent on them to survive. I feel strongly about defending our liberties, but how many are willing to die to protect the same? How many are there that will stare into the end of the barrel and say "fuck you", I'm free? We the sheepeople... We have tools at hand right now that we can use to shape our future. The vote, letters to our leaders, joining powerful organizations, etc. Some don't believe this, but they are also the ones that scream the loudest, and do nothing. I'm a Republican, because they disgust me just a little less than the democrats and liberals... It's time for some first string pics.
  6. Heres an opinion for you... I believe that a child needs a mother, and a father. I do know in society today that this is almost a thing of the past. I was raised without a mother and over the years have discovered that there are things lacking in myself. My wife's family is the story book example of a traditional family. I see how they relate and it really opened my eyes. I also see emotions and sentiments that I didn't even know existed. As far as hate, or phobia, my hat is off to anyone that can find true love. I am a Christian and know that the 2nd most important commandment is to love thy neighbor as thy self. There is no room for hate, or disdain in that statement. I also know that as a Christian I am far from perfect and never will even see the foot of that mountain. Who the hell am I to judge... One fear that I see in the Church is the fear of being forced to go against doctrine and perform same sex marriages. If same sex marriage becomes law, they will have to perform the ceremony, or risk losing their tax exempt status. I guarantee you that you'll see lawsuits pretty damn quickly too...
  7. Hey TK... I like the "Z-Spot". It's easy to say...and you can't miss finding it!
  8. Out of every Religious thread I've read in SC, one thing is pretty apparent...we can't prove, or disprove the existence of God. The "intellectuals" proselytize their science god, and we Christians proselytize our God (our God is capitalized though)! I know that it's not all of our intention to do so, but by debating to prove your point to others....you're proselytizing. If you look at the "evolutionary" timeline for humans, you'd have to be whacked to think that we know it all. It wasn't very long ago that we thought the world to be flat "there be monsters", and that the Earth was the center of the universe. We are not intelligent enough to prove, or disprove God. Enter Faith....a firm belief without logical proof. I was not raised with God, but I've always known that God existed. I don't know why, no event changed me, and no one sat down and convinced me either. It's a given for me just like I know when I take my socks off, I'll see my toes. I don't believe in God because of a fear of what will happen when I die either. If I had that fear, I probably wouldn't be quite so crazy in my day to day activities. God is as real a part of my life as the sun being there every day when I open my eyes. God is part of my REALITY and my belief could no more be removed than many of your beliefs that there is no room in science for a god. I find it fasinating and believe that some people are born knowing without a doulbt that God exists, and some people are born never being able to believe in anything that they can't look at under a microscope. We can debate forever, and no side will win. Here's a question....Has anyone on here converted to Atheism, or Christianity because of what they've read in the SC threads??? A little chum for the waters...
  9. Here's my girls Abbie & Sadie...Rhodesian Ridgebacks.
  10. " the FBi's study "Crime In the United States" conducted in 1998, conlcuded 50 people were killed in a gun hoimicde for every one person that used guns in self defence." Try telling that one person out of 50 that they were wrong for owning a gun... I have a couple of questions: 1. Would the American government rather it's citizens be armed, or unarmed? Why? 2. Does the media report facts, or is there a slant based on politics and personal beliefs?
  11. Quotewhat if they had smaked her over the head before she had chance to turn in to Sylvester Stallone and took her gun and used it on her? There will always be " what ifs"... If I lived by that philosophy...I'd never stop on the way home to pick up Tampons for my wife.
  12. Remember that there are two fights that occur when defending ourselves... The first being the actual incident where we defend ourselves, and the second is when we have to defend ourselves against the District Attorney's Office. The key statement is: I had no where to run, and I was AFRAID FOR MY LIFE. AND.....never ever say that you "regret" having to defend yourself. They'll turn you inside out. Using the words..."it's unfortunate that the person put me in a position that required me to use lethal force to defend my life" is a bit safer. There will probably never be a national carry permit for us civilians, but if you check your state carry permit website, they now give a listing of every state that reciprocates with your home state's license. More are being added too. I can now travel to several states that recognize my permit also. Each state's laws are a little different. You have to know their respective carry laws and abide by them while there. You can thank the NRA for this! Thanks for sharing...more people need to show the assholes that we won't take their crap.
  13. "Per Capita, the best people I have ever met, honest, loving, forgiving, accepting, non-petty, non-materialistic are skydivers". This is a profound truth for me... I'm a Christian. As far back as I can remember, I've always believed in God. Unusual due to the fact that I was raised in a family that wasn't religeous in the least. When I'm in church, I look at some people and wonder why they act one way while there, and another on the outside. I've found myself doing the same at times also. Which is disturbing. It's more than just respect for where we're at too. If we would all just realize that it's ok to be human, and that our common bond is that not one of us is perfect, there would be a lot less fear and hate between us. I love my skydiving family. I've met some twisted crazy bastards, some sane ones, and some who I never would have imagined that I'd call friend, but we sit around the fire with a beer and relish who we are, not who we think each other should be...
  14. IMO This is just a government answer to placate the public and have them believe that something substanial is being done to protect Americans. There are a lot of other "over the counter" items that will produce an explosion very nicely. Registering fertilizer has a certain amount of humor to it too.

    9mm vs .45

Kinetic energy is the name of the game. There are two stages to a gun shot wound. ( I know first hand). You have the primary wound..the hole, and the secondary wound. The secondary wound can be the bodies absorbtion of the kinetic energy. Go next door and put one in your neighbors cat. Find the hole and feel the meat around it. It'll be all soft and mushy. PS- I really do love cats though...

    9mm vs .45

I prefer to stick with weapons that carry NATO rounds... usually a greater availability in a "war" time situation. ( 9mm..308) I've read that most civilian fire fights take place at 15' or less. If this is true, I'd stick with my Springfield 45. It's a bitch to conceal in Florida during the summer though. My Glock 26 is much more comfortable. From a legal standpoint, don't carry ammo that is anything other than over the counter "plain jane". If you shoot someone (especially while they're running away, or with an AP...hydroshock...etc. round) there's a good chance that you're going to jail, or going broke from legal fees. At home, a double barrel 12 gauge with #7 birdshot protects the neighbors and make a nasty mess of those you point it at. "I'd rather be judged by 12, than carried by 6."
  17. "Evolution happens because unfit organisms die, not because organisms 'make themselves' more fit. " I understand what you are saying, but I'm a little confused about the ability of an organisms ability to change over time, adapting to the environment. An example would be cave dwelling creatures that never are exposed to sunlight. They lose the pigmentation in their skin, and are blind. Are they born with the ability to see, and lose it over time? Or, are they born pale and blind? If so, how does the DNA know that certain traits are no longer necessary?
  18. >If human DNA allows for webbed fingers, then it would appear we could >"evolve" for a waterworld environment. This is fascinating stuff.. IMO if our DNA were encoded to cover every future eventuality, the future would have been known before-hand. I believe that our, and most flora and fauna adaptability can be attributed to the ability of DNA to change when stimulated by the need to survive. We know this to be fact, so if the code is flexible, there wouldn't be a need to have an arsenal of "what-ifs" waiting for every eventuality. Aberrations and mutations occur at random, but to completely change an entire species I would agree that the weaker of the species is weeded out, allowing the better prepared to reproduce and grow stronger. In other words...if you stab a DNA with a knife, it's going to bleed. If it survives, and you stab it again, it's going to bleed a little less. Over time the DNA is going to adapt to being stabbed and learn how to best survive any future attacks. Those that can't survive the attack go away allowing a smaller selection of surviving DNA to reproduce from a smaller stronger pool. All of this takes time. Throw in the human factor and genocide, and you can toss the time needed to evolve out the window...
  19. I already did...got tired, didn't think I would make it the rest of the way, and came back. Hey, at least you're an optimist!
  20. If evolutoin means that we're all merely products of our environment, I'm moving...
  21. Hey! That's my sister! Hope our kids don't see it!
