I have helped out at the Canadian Invasion for many years. Lyal and the Eden North crew take VERY good care of their group. you will learn a lot, have way too much fun and be back again and again. Go and have a great time!

Nothing like an anonymous troll to make for a good laugh. Reveal yourself Ashtanga I think you're an older jumper from back in the 90's, am I warm?

I was pretty good at freefall, so so at canopy skills my first 99 jumps. On jump 100 I did a 36 point 4 way, I was so awesome! Well, the other 3 were Dan BC, James Layne and Troy Widgery! Nothing like just having to pick up grips as those guys flew around me Now after thousands of jumps, I am a newbie all over again trying to freefly. I look like a Semi Truck amongst Corvettes, but I enjoy learning to fly all over again. In skydiving we are always newbies. There's always something new to learn. When we think we know it all, trouble usually ensues.

One or two old Lost Prairie Lounge photos would doom me...

If you come down the I-5 I know a cool little DZ you could stop in for a jump and some lunch on the way to the I-8 There are two major hills either way. Actually going out the 8 and back the 10 is probably easiest. But you still have Cajon Pass up to your old neighborhood or the Grapevine to deal with on the way back home. Hmmmmm....

New guy here... How dangerous is this stuff?

"There is no such thing as a routine jump!" Every single time you don a rig and fly in an airplane, be careful. -
Written in 2008 by a man that should have been jailed for treason. Talk about abusing the US Constitution, he excelled at it.

You might want to look at Romney's record at Bain and the government bailouts he got, his federal bailout of the Olympics and his approval rating as a one term governor. Check out Ryan's pork barrel spending and the 2+2 =12 addition on his budget plan. Carry on...

Lots of speculation that Obama is buying a big house in Hawaii, maybe dirt on that. Maybe Trump found a guy in Kenya that delivered baby Barack. I don't watch much TV, are Trump's ratings down?

All the great self proclaimed family values christians seem to end up in bed with a guy or girl they shouldn't have been. Rock throwers...

Rudi Bakhtiar might have been the hottest of the CNN bunch, ever.

I believe you are absolutely correct. People are insecure. I never concerned myself with home or self defense until BHO was elected. Right, because there were no bad people before he was elected...

Did you ever jump Bobby's old rattletrap Sikorsky?

Skydiving correlated with criminality?
grimmie replied to kallend's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
What? No skydiver has ever been to jail! -
I dunno... IIRC Gary did have a rig on 'in case'...granted there was a corner where he was committed but up 'till then it was a low-pull' kinda thing. Felix was in a 'corner' from the time they sealed the hatch...and a lot of it was not in his control any error meant instant ICK. I think it's a wash...and that either one of 'em could kick Chuck Norris's ass! I think every skydiver in the world with an A license would have taken Felix's place in a heartbeat. I don't know anyone, including Jeb, that thought flying a wingsuit into a pile of cardboard would be a good idea.
-
Felix had a test jump done by Colonel Joe. He pretty much knew all would go well. He had a great technical team, loads of money to get the right equipment for the job and great gear. Gary just went out and did some test flying and went for it, a true pioneer

Right, because Romney doesn't donate enough to charity. No, because it would be a nice thing to do.
-
I grew up a few miles north of Youngstown. The city is in shambles, except for YSU. I hope this actually translates into more donations for them. I would hope Ryan and Romney would cut a check.

Re: Felix- Chuck Yeager once again shows off his arrogance
grimmie replied to SkydiveJack's topic in The Bonfire
I think every skydiver I know would have made the Stratos jump. I'm not sure every skydiver in 1960 would have wanted to make Col. Joe's jump. Chuck Yeager has brass balls, but Gary Connery did the ballsiest flight I have ever seen. Isn't Olav jumping from a spaceship over Russia soon?
