Mitt Romney lost because he ran a very poor campaign. His economic plan was "Vote for me and you will see". He had no real plan to create the jobs he predicted. Naming Ryan as VP was a very poor choice. His budget plan doesn't add up and the older population is afraid of him. Bashing gay rights and playing the God card is a losing battle. The lingering odor of GWB didn't help. A lot of people love Bill Clinton. When you can't bring out a Republican President to help fund raise and support your party's candidate, game over. And if Obama keeps improving the economy and reaches some sort of debt reduction deal with Boehner, he will be a formidable fundraiser for the next election. The Republicans always rally around a dead guy, Ronald Reagan. Most voters don't know who he was and informed voters know he was one of the worst presidents in history. Mitt being a Mormon scared some voters. His flip flopping was ridiculous. His Jeeps to China lie was a whopper. Take a close look at the last Republican presidents since Ike. Nixon, left in shame. Ford was a non factor. Ronald Reagan crapped all over the Constitution, allowed amnesty to millions of illegals, ran up the national credit card and should have been in jail over Iran-Contra. Bush 1 was a one termer. Bush 2 was the worst president in modern history. There's not much to run on. Until the Republican party can get a candidate that can run a brilliant grass roots campaign, it will be an uphill battle in today's changing demographics. Having Fox News folks like Ann Coulter say Romney will lose, primary battles where ever Republican says Mitt isn't a conservative and other same team pundits not rallying behind him wasn't ver helpful either. When they lost in MA, MI and WI, what does that tell you????

Did this election render Karl Rove a useless campaign fundraiser for future Republicans? Is he going to be a conservative outcast or will he still be an important figure? It seems that the Romney-Ryan campaign was even more poorly run than McCain Palin. They had no plan, no platform, changed positions and lied about most everything. The Ryan budget doesn't add up, the old folks were worried about medicare, their jobs plan was " vote us in and you will see". It seems like Obama has more respect for Romney than the conservative talking heads.

The GOP has no "hero" they can trot out, except for images of their hero Ronny Raygun. Since Ike, the last good Republican president, the GOP has suffered through Nixon resigning, Reagan tripling the deficit and wrecking the Constitution arming "freedom fighters" around the globe, Bush 1 losing after one term and Bush 2 screwing up America unlike any president innrecent history. The GOP needs to stop picking on union workers, gays, women, minorities and put their bibles away. iMHO

I think the biggest issue will be foreign affairs and how we operate against Iran. We really don't need one more war. Mitt's advisors scare me. The economy will take care of itself.

That's sort of a loaded question. Adrian Nicholas was the swooping incident that sticks out most in my mind. How many people went in with a main reserve entanglement due to an AAD fire? How many people went in waiting for an AAD to fire? How many people went in due to a miss set AAD? Not that not pulling is the AAD's fault, but did those jumpers have a false sense of security from wearing one? There are a LOT of skydivers that think their AAD will save them from anything. I agree with you on the saves vs risk.

The Republicans haven't had a good president since Ike. Who can they put on the campaign trail? They cling to the myth known as Ronald Reagan, Nixon was a criminal, Bush 1 was a one termer and Bush 2 was in the top 3 worst all time. And they make fun of Jimmy Carter...
