  1. Seems like it might be able to work if you offset it just a bit and then used the swivel bracket to bring the actual sight in at like a 60 degree angle. Really don't know as I don't have a FTP. I'll look at one of the other guys FTP's this weekend though and see if what I was proposing makes any sense.
  2. Remove the post and mount something like this to the upper surface possibly? See attachment. This is the route that I'm going with my new helmet. Note that is not my helmet, I found that pic in the Mantle thread. It's part of the reason I bought the mantle and I bought that mount from Mike G. to put on it though.
  3. I've found replacements there. Another place you can find them is at a hobby store. I actually caught my ring site on the way out of the plan chasing a 6 way a few weeks back and lost two of the three screws. I got the replacements for it at home depot. BK
  4. So I posted my question right after I sent the email off to Bonehead. I already got a response. This is my second Bonehead and I must say, their customer service is spot on. My first was a Mamba and I never had issue one with it. Seems like that should work pretty well, but I'll wait and do that after I bake it I think.
  5. What are you guys doing for an audible pocket? I got mine today and I must say, fit and finish are awesome! Both my cameras will fit perfectly on top with no over hang. Still have to move everything from my old helmet, but so far I'm very pleased. Bk
  6. There are brands? I just buy the stuff that paragear sells. Works great for me so far.
  7. Dave, I did a couple of jumps on landscape this weekend and I very much like the colors and over all look of the pictures. Thanks for the note on it, gave me courage to try something different. I learn something new with that camera every day it seems like. Thanks again, BK
  8. Keep him in your thoughts girls and guys, he put up on FB that he was headed back into ICU this afternoon. I hope it's nothing to serious. Heal up Spot, I still want to fly my WS with you at some point!
  9. Is that why your blues always look richer and fuller? Same thing with colors on peoples suits? I'm guessing yes, and if that is the case, then put me in that stereo type as I think those pictures just look better!
  10. Got a link? Sorry about the camera war thing, was not my intent. I shoot Canon and know next to nothing about Nikon's. I'm still very new to the DSLR world in general. Heck, SLR world for that matter.
  11. Seems they are working on the new name. I tried http://www.skydivewaltoncounty.com/ and it worked too. Well I guess we know now what it's going to be. SWC.
  12. Ah, that answers my question! I've never changed them for a skydive and have only just recently played with them for ground mess'n around. Here is a link that has some info about what they are. I will just leave that setting alone and on Standard.
  13. Hey you photo guru's out there. Any of you guys with a Canon (not sure if Nikon has this feature) ever play with the picture styles that are built into the camera? Any of you ever create your own for skydiving? Seems that it adjusts things like sharpness, contrast, etc. Yes, I'm reading about them and playing with them, just curious if anybody else here had played with them in the air. Thx, BK a.k.a. a hack wanna be...
  14. Here's Boneheads solution for all the old Batrack fans, and it looks like it will be one of the best options to top mount both an Xti and CX100... I hope so, because that's my long range plan. I hope so too, because my new Mantle should be here by the end of next week. My setup is an XS and CX100.
  15. Kewl, I am counted as one of THE DON's great friends. That's just to dam f'n cool! Here is a little video of the fun. Loved the smile and clown'n you were do'n. Thanks again for letting me enjoy that jump with you. Happy B-Day!!
  16. Spot, so good to see you back and locking down threads! Heal up and take care. So very glad your still with us. Don't worry about the pain terrorist, I think they all have to have thick skin and be hard of hearing to do that job. Take care, BK
  17. I simply meant, vs. saying the hell with it and putting one on a CC like I would have done. I was not meaning in a design sense or new innovations. I simply meant he was faced with a challenge and he chose to be creative and make one.
  18. +1 I was there and did my first flight course the same weekend with Chris. I remember his thoughts and reactions when he came down. He's a very smart guy with an incredible work ethic. I liked the write up and think he should be given some props for thinking outside the box and doing what he did.
  19. That is pretty damn slick! Very nice stuff. The applications for stuff like that are pretty amazing.
  20. What Scott said!! I jump a Rawa, but I put stills on top and video on the side. I won't even try to put both on top.
  21. CX-100. Lots of great info here about it. I like being able to directly mount the wide angle lens to the camera and not having to worry about a box to mount it to personally.
  22. Hey Rick, we missed you out there this weekend. Saw Doc yesterday and several were asking about you. Hope you can come out and play with us soon. 4 loads yesterday and 3 more by time I left today. They were doing one more as I was leaving. Nice friendly vibe going on. One cut away yesterday. All in all it was a good weekend. BK
  23. Contact Mike at ChutingStar, I believe he has some in stock.
