The Netherlands: AAD mandatory untill C licence. ciel bleu, Saskia

I have quicktime 6.5 already. Well by changing the extension I realize you don't change the format, but this trick has worked for me in the past for some other file formats. I read about some codecs on the 'net that may do the trick (sort of) but they're not free, unfortunately. Anyone has any other ideas? ciel bleu, Saskia

Wingsuit weekends @ Teuge, The Netherlands.

Some more pics, by me and Henny. BTW Jarno if you have a clue how to make avi's from mac dv files, I can start editing ciel bleu, Saskia -
Yesterday I got some mac dv files I need to edit, how do I convert those to something my pc can handle? The files have no extension, i tried .dv .avi .mov .qt to no avail. Premiere and WinMedia Player have no clue. Seems these files are not coded at all so a codec wouldn't work, or would it? Some help please! ciel bleu, Saskia

Lunch MONEY, not all of it... LUNCH however, see pic ciel bleu, Saskia -
You need the -E models if you want PAL. Over here (Netherlands) some models, usually the cheapest one or two of any line, don't have dv-in, although all have dv-out (I think). Some of these you can "fix" but not all of them. ciel bleu, Saskia

I'm no guy... I'm just asking what the quickest way is to do WS BASE. If I should definately do say 500 BASE jumps first, or if 50 balloon jumps and a couple BASE may prepare me too. Or, whatever. Don't worry I'm not going to jump off a cliff because somene on the 'net says I can We have some BASE guys here that do WS but haven't asked them yet, and not all of them I'd go to for advise anyway. Just looking for other peoples progression, really. ciel bleu, Saskia

Is there any way I could make my first BASE with my wingsuit? And land in one piece I've been thinking about BASE for a long time now, but I've got a fear of heights (or rather, lows). The low stuff here in The Netherlands? No thanx... I realise a lot of people get hurt from big walls, esp with wingsuits, that the low stuff is safer in a lot of ways. But I'm not interested in other jumps then WS, really... Just got back from Extreme Week. Didn't go there to jump, I was staff for the swooping comp, but I did my first WS helicopter jump there, awesome! And seeing the videos of Loic etc ... Well.... I have just the one (hovering) helicopter jump, and may get 2 balloon jumps this weekend, if the weather co-operates. I'd like to jump off a big wall, preferably with my WS. Or switch to WS really quick. I almost always have my WS on these days, either that or a FS camera suit, I feel naked without wings... I've got a Classic2 and a S3. Is this a really stupid/dangerous wish, or somehow doable? ciel bleu, Saskia

What to do when your photos are used w/o permission

According to you if they're not being used for profit it's okay?! ciel bleu, Saskia -
Pro-track doesn't record crw jumps and hopnpops, and won't go past 119 seconds (not so good if you're a decent birdman). The Neptune does, and I like that the software records the part under canopy as well. I did have problems with mine, a lot of the earlier ones had problems, but nowadays most are fixed. Both L&B and Alti-2 ahve excellent customer service. I do a lot of CRW and BirdMan, so I sold my Pro-Track for a Neptune. Then I tried it as a digital alti, bought another one and haven't jumped anything else since. ciel bleu, Saskia

Sounds like a plan to me

The mono switch at least on the 300D keeps the camera thinking you´re focussing, therefore it won´t clear the buffer as fast, giving you a much slower camera. Keeping the camera thinking it´s busy will probably hurt your battery life also. Most people dont use autofocus anyway, so I´d always get the stereo switch. ciel bleu, Saskia

Manfrotto quick release, with a metal bracket to protect the camera a bit and some velcro straps as well. ciel bleu, Saskia

A mini dv player is going to be more expensive than most dv camera´s, so you´d be better off either ripping the dvd´s or buying a camera yourself. Also, make sure if the videos are made by others that you have permission from those people to re-edit the videos... ciel bleu, Saskia

Video of the German Swooping Open competition held in Höxter, 06 2005: http://www.12000ft.com/video/18.html Unfortunately because of the wind there were only 2 completed rounds (besides the training round), hopefully in Fehrbellin the weather will co-operate more! ciel bleu, Saskia
