yes you can http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7533569731&category=30059&ssPageName=WDVW&rd=1 Then it'll be an all-manual lens probably... Or almost all-manual at best. Why put such an expensive lens through that? I'd get a Zenitar lens for something like tthat... ciel bleu, Saskia

Huh? You can't put a Nikon lens on a Canon camera, AFAIK. ciel bleu, Saskia

At least Henny has belts and ankle belts which have quick releases. But not the vest, and not the lead that's in the rig itself. The divers here (as in Voss, where the middle of the ponds were 2-3 m) had extra oxygen so if you do sink you can at least breathe while you're getting rid of your rig and lead. At least at Bussloo, the water is only 1 m deep for 60 m into the lake. You can still drown in 1 m water but you have to work harder at it ciel bleu, Saskia

For the video this sure was fun. Safety wise, I dunno, the water here was very deep. Jay did some tests with his weightbelt, 22 kg, the divers gave him a red lifesaving floating thingie. Right, straight to the bottom. Next: an official life vest. Straight to the bottom. You know what DID keep him up?? One of our orange toy-store swimming rings Then I tried, riiight, 22 kg on my shoulder, jumped in, couldn't even get back up to the surface! Jay could stay up 6 seconds, JC 12 or 14 or so. Oops. So the boat people were very quick, esp the kajak's worked really well. The salto guy still had a lot of trouble because he got the lines round his legs And after the comp was finished, one of the French freefly guys landed on the raft. A couple loads later, another very very famous freeflyer did the same... not!! New discipline: freestyle swimming The safety people were NOT amused even though he got himself on the raft real soon.... ciel bleu, Saskia

He apperantly did and jumps Bruno's Velo 120 and 111 ciel bleu, Saskia -
Don't think it's new, actually I think they stopped making them. From what I've HEARD (from someone working at Icarus though), it's a more hp than a Spectre/Triathlon/Omega and they wouldn't recommend it for someone with 25 jumps, as our Dutch canopy charts allow. According to that guy an Omega would be a better choice. The size of the canopy fits though, as opposed to the Omega's and Safire1's which are about 8% smaller then the label says compared to other Icarus chutes. ciel bleu, Saskia

The sound from my camera when imported into premiere used to crackle. Problem seems to have gone away after changing the Audio Mode to 12 bit. ciel bleu, Saskia

You mean like the splitscreen bits in here? (At about 3/4 of the movie.) I made this with premiere pro, you can do multiple video streams and arrange them to your liking (one on top of the other, cropping, scaling etc: http://www.12000ft.com/video/15.html ciel bleu, Saskia

I 'm pretty sure he jumps a new VX 112, think it's a mistake. I've emailed them already 'bout that... ciel bleu, Saskia -

JC, Shannon, Tom Naef, Vincent Reffet, Jeff, Bruno, Luigi and Stephane Fardel made it to the finals. Results so far: http://www.skyrats.com/swoop05/scoreboard.htm (doesn't look too good in firefox for some reason) ciel bleu, Saskia -
My Atom 00 has held an old Merit 170 (half ZP half F111) and a new Spectre 150. The Spectre was mine and it was a b*tch to pack. Now it has an older Spectre 135 in it, much better. Maybe I pack better now, too, although I doubt it because I hardly ever pack myself But the brand-new Spectre 150 was a tight fit even for packers, cost me a lot of beer at the time ciel bleu, Saskia

Huh, they still claim it is "improper use of the equipment" that caused the accidents..... ciel bleu, Saskia

It all depends on who it is and if we have arranged anything beforehand. As I do a lot of ground video I'm used to people swooping quite close, sometimes to the point of feeling the wind from the lines in my hair. If I don't know you or don't trust your skills, DON'T DO THAT. But with a few people, sure. I did some crew so I'm comfortable flying close to others that also know a bit of crew. Some of them used to be in the national crew team... After a wingsuit jump we usually get together under canopy again to bump endcells or geek the camera (usually, me). We even did some crew jumps with 3 vengeance's although that's not altogether very smart although it sure was a lot of fun and the one instructor that we have that also jumps a vengeance didn't want to come and play, imagine that With wingsuiting, deploying close to each other is not that big a deal, providing you stay next to each other and not behind. People from other groups I don't want to see opening up close though! So, comfy distance under canopy, depending on person, zero feet. Comfy distance when landing, also depending on person, just don't hit me or my gear. Other groups, open in your own space! ciel bleu, Saskia

20 years and not a single jump??? I guess that makes the next question hard to answer - "how does it fly?" I'll let you know if an when I use it

Is anyone interested in a short movie of the WorldGames, however without any footage of the PD guys? I can't complete the footage with other people's video because I'm afraid I was the only one allowed anywhere near for the entire competition, everyone else besides judges, official camera guys like Willy and Gustavo and the tv camera's, had to move away a looong way (for safety, you know a couple swoopers unexpectedly landed in the regular landing area - where ELSE?? - after the course was closed due to a chow, wow, we have to clear the ENTIRE area 'cause they may land there again!! Got some shots of JC being chased off by 2 blond security girls complete with dog ... Anyone interested in seeing the rest, or, nah don't go to the trouble if you can only show half the footage?? ciel bleu, Saskia

The earlier bulletin said Omega's sizes XXS, XS, S, SS, M, L und XL with QUICK 120, 135, 150, 180 or 220 were grounded, with no explanation besides that "we don't know yet what happened, looking into it". They must've changed the bulletin because it now says: grounding all Omega's sizes XXS, XS, S, SS, M, L und XL (not including tandem rigs). ciel bleu, Saskia
-
Well here in The Netherlands and Belgium they grounded Omega's with Quick's or other reserves, which I think is much smarter in this case In Germany it's just the Omega-Quick combo. ciel bleu, Saskia

You can let premiere do scene detect, that way every scene will be saved as a separate clip. Premiere will then take the clip name you provide, adding a number to that name for each clip. Never used comments, myself. ciel bleu, Saskia

I'll be there, for swoop video, not competing of course ciel bleu, Saskia

You need enough slack on your brakelines so you can pull on your frontrisers without braking. You can always have a rigger look at it of course, but most steering lines are set too short, not too long. ciel bleu, Saskia

Thanx, Cleaner XL is now very busy on my laptop Renamed the files to .dv and then Cleaner swallowed it

Love my Spectre 135, loved the Pilot 124 I demo'd and loved the Vengeance 135 I demo'd for camera too although not for BirdMan, so I'll stick to my Spectre for now... Unless someone gives me a Pilot 124 or 132 for free ciel bleu, Saskia

Swooping, for one thing (if you don't have a cypres2 getting wet can be very expensive) ciel bleu, Saskia
