It's the same camera as the CX7. ciel bleu, Saskia

The paperwork is different per country like I said. You need to get the appropriate paperwork signed off by a rigger, usually that needs to be a member of your national USPA equivalent. If you get foreign papers with a rig at all they are only useful to see if any maintenance has been done, how many repacks etc, but they may not show the life history if the papers are newer than the rig/components. You'll need to get your national paperwork anyway, this will be needed to jump anywhere else too. So if you have a british jumping license your paperwork should be british (BPA), if german license, german papers (DFV?). ciel bleu, Saskia

You might be better off asking this in the German forum, each country has its specific rules about the paperwork. ciel bleu, Saskia

No comment on the handcam thing, but for a HC5 you need a very wide angle. HC5 + raynox .3 no step-ring is less wide than TRV25/PC106/PC2 with hama .45/raynox .5 with step-up ring. ciel bleu, Saskia

Full face Camera helmet - Legend or fact
dragon2 replied to crashtested's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
2 jumpers at my DZ jump Z1's with sidemounted video, visor still works, pretty nice for doing inside FS video. Not that good for interaction with students, but I guess you could remove the visor then. ciel bleu, Saskia -
outside tandem video VS handicam
dragon2 replied to tsalnukt's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
all handicam jumps or tandem only? ciel bleu, Saskia -
So if people give you what you want and help you (give you wingsuit instruction @ low jumpnumbers against all common wisdom) they are friendly, and if they do not, they are jerks? Great attitude ciel bleu, Saskia

That's a CRW mod, not recommended on a freefall canopy (some reserves do have a hole in the slider), but most CRW canopies do not have a full slider. ciel bleu, Saskia

Just do what you've been taught. If you want to change anything from that, esp at low jumpnumbers, ask your own instructors. ciel bleu, Saskia

hackey Try twice to find it, as long as you are above you decision altitude. No luck? Depending on what you were taught, either pull reserve or cutaway then pull reserve. ciel bleu, Saskia

Get either canon or nikon. If you don't want to spend a lot of money on a good lens for skydiving (14 mm, 15 mm, 16 mm etc) you may want to see which lens you can get 2nd hand before buying the body (canon vs nikon) to go with it, this can save you a lot of money. ciel bleu, Saskia

The dust removal function is pretty much useless esp for skydiving, you'll need to clean the sensor every now and again anyway. Any moisture in there and the dust sticks, most of our spots are moisture anyway. Dry dust gets shaken to the side, so most of it will shake right back to the sensor. Personally for skydiving I'd rather have a sensor that is stuck to the camera instead of the shakeable sensor that all sensor-cleaning cameras (canon 400D, nikon D300) have, although so far this doesn't seem to present a problem it isn't much help either. ciel bleu, Saskia

Don't divers use wired remote too? My underwater box for sony trv cameras uses lanc to control the camera from outside the box. Still, probably not a large enough group either... ciel bleu, Saskia

It can be turned off on the K10D. Did anyone jump it yet with stabilisation OFF? Because I'm afraid it might still be free-floating and might still cause the same problem. ciel bleu, Saskia

Battery in Cookie Composite BlackBox HC5
dragon2 replied to TallGuy's topic in Photography and Video
They are the same size, I have them here lying next to each other Both fit "inside" the camera, nothing sticks out so should fit in any box that fits a HC5. The 100 is bigger which is why I didn't get one. ciel bleu, Saskia -
You do not want shake reduction in the body, for various reasons shake reduction in lenses is better (granted this can work out more expensive). For skydiving, shake reduction is useless and worse if in the body it makes the camera useless if it cannot be turned off. Canon and Nikon are both great brands for skydiving. Not all models are equally suited but if you're set on using SD cards the Nikon D80 is a great jumping camera. No weather seals though, generally for both brands the heavier cameras are more weather proof but a lightweight camera is better for your neck. ciel bleu, Saskia

At our DZ tandems get out at 9k and those funjumpers not getting out lower (>5k/7k/9k) get out at 12k. By the time we're at 12k the tandems are low enough, if not for some reason, the manifest calls the pilot for a go-around (rarely happens). If there's only 1 or 2 tandems and no hurry for the instructors/video to get back, the tandems may go to 12k (cheaper than the extra jumprun @ 9k). We have more 'problems' with CRW getting out at 7k or 9k, it's not very wise to do a 7k crw pass then tandems at 9k of course, nor tandems+crw at 9k followed by 12k freefallers. So we have to compromise there a bit. ciel bleu, Saskia

Not at the expense of the customers’ video, looks like you and the videot are wasting altitude playing your games rather than placing the focus on the star of the show. Now someone may have to explain to a 4 year old that the squirrel is having fun skydiving and not the frozen corpse of an incident. Just my opinion, but what a lousy thing to do to a paying customer and their skydive video. Ditto. ciel bleu, Saskia

It needs to be a new tape, ie the rest of the tape should be blank(blue). The tape should be left in the camera. Also I think you have to set the time and date. ciel bleu, Saskia

What you've seen is called Camera Armor. B&H Photo sells it, also some shops in The Netherlands (about EUR 45), not sure where to get it in Spain. That said, I have no clue what is causing your problem and if armor will help (doubt it). We jump when it's freezing on the ground and our cameras still work, Spain is comfy compared to The Netherlands right now, we have snow here! ciel bleu, Saskia
