One last photo from that day... Costyn managed to catch my opening on photo quite well...had some fun with it in photoshop http://home.kabelfoon.nl/~fxcordia/photo/09_sept/beach_sept15_opening.jpg JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Isnt work anything but a big payd hobby then?? but yea...plaayyyy We've been looking into buying a Z1 recently, and this definately looks like something worth waiting out for... Sweet! Drop some greasy stuff on the studio floor and shoot it in slowmo! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Great review btw. But 12 second slowmo shoots..thats awesome..that sounds like a great feature for TV commercial shoots (and model/pyro/vfx shoots). Any chance at seeing a sample of the slowmo mode online? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

mount it vertically on a sharkfin.. and expect something to block your slider halfway Mounting it verticaly would be great for big CRW stacks though JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Is the 12 seconds the final slowmo time (which means it records 3 to 4 seconds of footage?) or does it actually capture 12 seconds, and makes it last 30 or second (dont know the exact fps recording speed of the slowmo?) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Check it out! Anyone have 28.900 euro they can lend me? Some specs: 7,500 x 21,250 pixel image (raw (16-bit): 307 MB/uncompressed tiff (48-bit): 922 MB 2.6 kilo (start training that neck) How awesome would it be to have one of these on the next bigway attempt, and get a cool (almost on level) side-shot of the formation JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Suits I'm most impressed with is some of the old classic 1's. With the body built like a tank out of a smooth material (not the balloon-zp stuff we see in most suits now). Some of those have into the high hundreds of skydives on them, and they still look like new.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Make sure you try it on a small jump with experienced people first Being able to pop up at 50 mph (or more) less vertical speed then the rest of the trackers mean you could seriously hurt yourself, or anyone who's above you when that happens... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I know Costyn has followed some regular dives in a wingsuit. Flying it collapsed when close to the group, but also being able to do tim porter-ish broad carves around the formation that would normaly be impossible for us mere mortals If you fly a rodeo, speeds are quite close to normal tracking-speeds as well... I recently made a few S1 jumps in Empuria, and though flying it in a formation took a bit more effort then normal, backflying a Skyflyer1 is actualy quite easy due to the smaller legwing. You just notice that you have a bit less range, and your legwing/power is more like an on/off feature... But the smaller flying position just means you're a little less stable, and someone flying it for the first time could encounter some nasty sheit if he went a little unstable.... You asked for advice...most (if not all) people in here say 'wait longer/do more jumps...' just like your dad... That SHOULD be your answer? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

FlyLikeBrick is organising two flocking weekends in belgium around the second week of november. a 1st flight weekend (3 to 4 BMI's present) and a flocking weekend for more experienced flyers. Seeing the number of flyers we already have there on unplanned weekends, filling up the caravan with wingsuits completely wont be a problem ;) We'll be posting more info next week. I didnt get your age...not that it makes any difference... But basicaly..nobody can judge over the the internet how good a flyer and/or skydiver you are. leave it up to people that know you best, and trust their judgement. And with your age...by the time you reach the age of most people in here, you'll be flying circles around us 'old folks'...so why to rush...the sport is not going anywhere...and by getting into something maybe a tad too early...will only give you a lot of exra stress, and (incidents aside) take away a lot of enjoyment you could have had, with just a tad more experience... *edit* and about your question 'is the skyflyer 1 a good learner suit' It can be flown ok(ish) by someone with little experience..and with some rigger-work can be turned into something better... but when you look at all the suits from all manifacturers available on the market at this time...I think for most people..its the last suit anyone would ever recomend to someone as a good 'learning-suit' JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I've done a few jumps on a skyflyer1 (30 or so) and it feels a bit wobbly/twitchy trying to max it, but aside from that, it didnt feel a whole lot different from the S3. You're just missing a fairly big piece of legwing, and that just affects your flying. If you're buying one..I'd look for something else...used S3 maybe..(with all the new suits, you can find them 2nd hand at good prices more and more) But if you can score an S1 cheep. Danny (a belgian jumper, I know he reads here) recently had his S1 modded by his rigger, and basicaly turned into an S3. The rigger added (working) 2 cells to the leg-wings, which (according to danny) made a huge difference in flying it. Maybe Hans (gadget) has some pictures of Danny's suit? Maybe someone looking into if they should buy one, and did it to see if they can easely mod the legwing to make it larger (and didnt want to damage a suit of their own later-on) I heard quite a few people talking/asking about that....could very well be...? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Past weekend, Lee (GordySkydiver) dropped by with his lovely girlfriend, so we went flocking in Belgium. We then threw some Belgians into the mix and had way too much fun And as promised, here is the video! You can watch it at Skydivingmovies JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Great to hear! Hope you guys had a ball at Texel (and you maybe managed to squeeze a wingsuitflight in) The video from Schaffen is nearly done, and will be online in a day or so It was great jumping with you! It sure was a bunch of cool jumps. Chasing Costyn and Alex through their dubble-roll routine, the slotswapping. Your rodeo! That weekend rocked! See you again soon..somewhere! (might be dropping over to the UK in a bit, to jump with blender-on-helmet-boy) Cheerio! J p.s. Hope your stomache has recovered from my impromptu home-cooking experiments JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

The saterday started with a wingsuit jump from A Fokker F60. The plane had a run in at 240 mph With the small side-door, I was worried about getting spun around as soon as I just got a tip of my wing out the door, so I dit a normal arched exit (all wings closed) waited for a few seconds to bleed of a bit of speed, and then opened up my wings. I was quite a distance below the airplane when I did this, but the amount of lift I got from the speed was insane. It pushed me right back up to the level of the airplane. Being back at your exit altitude 10 seconds into your jump is definately a weird, weird experience! (but an awesome one I'd be sooo happy/eager to repeat) In hindsight, I could have opened up my wings as soon as I cleared the rear-stabilo, and gotten much more lift out of the speed I had at that point. But damn...if you ever get a chance to jump this (Dutch!!) plane...do so! The day ended with a big party at the DZ, with roughly 150 to 200 people attending. Was cool..and waaayyy late (or was it way early?) Then on sundaymorning (6 AM..ugggh) I went of to Shaffen (Belgium) to join Costyn, Alex and Lee (GordySkydiver) who had already been doing a lot of flying on saterday Hans (aka) gadget and Bassie joined us for some flocking fun later that day as well. Alex also showcased some amazing close-combat wingsuit flying (I think I have teeth-marks on my crotch!??) And to complete the fun, when a one hour holding was announced due to heavy air-traffic from Antwerp, the center flew us to another DZ for a jump-in (Zwartberg) where we landed, packed, and (as the holding was over) flew back to Schaffen voor another jump-in. How awesome is that! Expect two videos on that weekend soon (costyn is editing the video on saterday, Im doing the sunday) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Yes...thats correct.. Costyn was mostly flying for distance, so he could have had lower downward speeds had freefall time been his focus. I think a lot of flyers in here are capable of doing down to 40 mph flights, and even brief stints approaching 30 mph-ish speeds. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Saskia, if you already knew your end result will only be used on DVD and Web, why dint you edit it in normal broadcast res. straight away then? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
