Though everyone has their favorite..competitions for glideratios show the results of top-end suits for all manufacturers being closer to eachother than anyone (marketing-wise) is willing to admit... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I think a lot of people are overdoing their de-arch.. At least in the way I fly (any suit) aside from a bit of a push, merely tilting my hip a few degrees, there is not much of a de-arch to speak off... So yes..flying it 'flat' is definately not a bad thing... Though it may vary per person, its the way I fly as well JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

http://wingsuitcompetition.com/teams.htm updated! Teams confirmed: Team PF - EUFlyLikeBrick- NLCrewBirds - BESkySwoopers - DKTonySuits - USADNB Nord - LVPinky and the Brains - NL And we are awaiting confirmation from: Team Teuge - NLLes Zozios - FrFlyYourBody - Fr Though technicaly FlyYourBody is the only one we're awaiting real confirmation off, the other teams seem certain of their entry as well.. The SA team (Pierre and the boys with their team 'acro-bats') sadly had to drop out due to theft of gear (wingsuit, rig etc) from their home. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
Has Blu Ray won the battle once and for all?
mccordia replied to bigway's topic in Photography and Video
Its the new standard, for as long as 'standards' last... Within a few years or so, we'll probably see new formats at Double-D 8k resolution and 100 fps as 'standard' Kinda like audio...every 10 years or so, you end up having to buy the white album again.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
Camera suits: wing types and booties revisited.
mccordia replied to DougH's topic in Photography and Video
I dont have booties on my suit, just for the simple reason of not wanting to do/undo booties all the time when walking/flying etc. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -

Heyhey At the moment we are looking for final confirmation on teams (if possible) The teams 99,9% sure of coming: FlyLikeBrick- NLCrewBirds - BESkySwoopers - DKTonySuits - USADNB Nord - LVPinky and the Brains - NL And we are awaiting confirmation from: Team Teuge - NLLes Zozios - FrFlyYourBody - FrTeam PF - EU And we still have one or two people without a team, and two unnamed teams not sure if they'll be there. So should any teams be looking for a camera flyer or team member, let me know, and we'll do some mix and match! From the look of things, we'll end up with anywhere between 6 to 12 teams, and looking at a way cool international competition! so what if I cant come Costyn also did some serious nerding, and made a web-application for the scoring. Which means the people stuck in offices will be able to follow the progress on our (soon te be put online) webpage, in near realtime (including web-cams!) And for the people at Spa, next to the screens we'll have there, you can check and monitor your teams score online constantly, to see what your score for the next round needs to be. I cant wait for someone to take this one to the next level, and start jumping his wingsuit from a high-dive platform into a swimming pool, while launched from a high powered catapult (so some actual lift/forward movement is involved) Or wait....lie on the roof of a car, and drive that into a (low) wall, launching the WS flyer at 120 kmh (would have to be on a waterside of course). You could (might take a few cars) even slowly up the speed, untill you reach something close to wingsuit flare speeds Man...I need to arrange some cars..and water... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

We should be arriving late friday (2nd) and probably taking one or two days off to chill on the beach and catch some rays, so we can shed that white-as-a-sheet English look We're definately looking forward to chilltime on the beach, but if anyone is interested in an FJC or anything else (at slot price, no other charge) then drop me a line. As those first 2 days (sat/sun) are probably the only ones where there is time for any inidividual jumps. After that its a group effort (though we can always try and shuffle people around for some 1 on 1 work) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Yea..only one suggestion...NEVER buy a white suit, if you intend to keep it that colour JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Yea...Its a good things we have people like Bland, Wienberg and Schoeber (gadget). Without them, we wouldnt have the solid, smooth and well paced basis for many of the awesome jumps we're doing everywhere.. Flying base, and keeping everybody happy in terms of forward pace and fallrate is a completely seperate skill not many posses (and like doing) *edited for zwpelling* JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
-
If you're thinking about doing a 2nd/3d etc point, then technicaly, you shouldnt have any flyers struggling But that lame joke aside...you dont have to switch base. You can keep the base flyer the same (also prevents sudden pace/fallrate variations) and have one or two flyers from the back move to more forward slots (where they are in clear view of all other flyers) and have that as the key/signal for the rest. They dont have to take over the base role. As usually, the base is salso omeone who is more then happy (and good at) setting the pace, and being the center of attention on all pix and video.. You're still gonna get people constantly glancing at the cameraguy, instead of focussing 100% on flying their slot. But maybe we should wait with multiple point dives on 16 ways, untill we get to the point where all 16 people are actually in their slot in a 16 way, instead of 15 and one out (who was that btw?) (Dutch) company TunedByJlo builds complete solutions. Including dytters/cameras/biteswitches etc. www.tunedbyjlo.com I think their website will be online by the end of this month. Seen a few people with those helmets, and was way impressed.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

But why the expensive fuel-guzzling chopper, and not just this cheaper version? http://www.stadsefratsen.nl/img/designer/sf_06prmarcello_ziliano_mid_big.jpg Would have saved a lot of cash, for the same amount of pain JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
-
On some of the smaller multiple point jumps we did, we had one of the people in the back (who has the overview) key the next point, by going to the front of the formation (where his slot for the next point is). His new position is visable to everyone, so that person moving would be the key/signal for the (2/3 stage) build of the next point. Having the entire formation look away for a key from a cameraman would be a hard, as just looking away a few seconds is enought to have people loose the reference/person(s) they are flying to/on, and cause waves/movement within the formation that will most likely result in some people going out of their slot. Putting key/signal flyers in the formation seems like the easiest solution. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

hehe...sorry Scott....I fear I created a monster by converting your name into a brand and photo-catagory Love the the large inlets..must work really well in terms of inflation in the first few seconds on WS base jumps.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

sounds awesome All the joking and poking from the office-bound people aside... Im really looking forward to seeing this! And who knows what this attempt will lead to in the near or far future.. maybe doing it over a swoop-pond will cushion the fall more for higher (speed) attempts? Though I know water can be as hard as a rock at speed,, this looks like it does help a bit. Though I was sceptical about it being a true wingsuit terminal landing, I was definitely hoping for it to be. Even if its just so Id finaly have and answer to the non-wingsuit crowd, when they ask "when will somebody land a wingsuit" for the Nth time Now somebody take a whip, and make this Gray boys edit faster And tell em not to block my IP due to my nice comments on their account JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

And so it is...and if for only 1 second I doubted that this was anything more then a bad weather stunt, tripping out of a choppper at 1 meter altitude, the 3D animated wingsuiting ponies would be flying all over your screen right now JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
