  1. Man, you guys seriously need to RELAX!
  2. Damn right it hurts! And I still couldn't lick my elbow.
  3. Harold P. Brown and Dr. Fred Peterson invented it for Edison. One of them HAD to be a dentist. Dentists love inflicting pain! Reminds me of the show 'Little Shop of Horrors' where Bill Murray loved going to the dentist and refused the pain killers. Classic.
  4. A guy that can lick his elbow would be in DEMAND by the ladies!

I don't know if any of these are true but they are definitely interesting.
  6. Roosevelt I think. I love that quote.
  7. God is addressing the serpent (the devil ) in this passage. The woman is Mary (Mother of Jesus) and the person that will crush the serpent's head is Jesus (her offspring). Most Biblical scholars believe this is a prophecy about the coming of Christ.
  8. No, Sinkster made that statement referencing a hypothetical situation where he killed someone and got away with it. You inferred that he would be a good soldier because he believed, in that hypothetical situation, that 'might makes right'.
  9. NO WAY! It would be a waste of money and I don't even want to think of the pain. AAAACK! The thing is locked up behind my zipper for 95% of the day. With breasts you can at least see the shape of them when they are wearing clothes. That is only true of a penis if you are in the habit of wearing leather pants or those tight Wrangler jeans all of the rednecks are so fond of.
  10. I'm impressed with the dancing. He never even spilled his drink!
  11. Dave, Are you going to the Old Guard or are you talking about Quanitco? Do they have jar he......I mean Marines in the Old Guard?
  12. Then yeah, now, no. It is very easy to criticize this in hindsight. Too bad the guys that made the decisions can't see into the future huh? No, I am not critical of them. They are doing their absolute best and I can't expect anything more from them. I understand that they have one of the hardest jobs in the world and that in execution, it is not like the war movies and video games everyone is so familiar with. There is a difference between criticizing the policies of our government and criticizing the people who are executing those policies (soldiers). You have crossed that line on several occasions either intentionally or through ignorance. BTW, I talk to our soldiers about this on a daily basis and I daresay that they would not feel 'supported' by your comments so far. I give them all the credit in the world. I do that partially by not second guessing everything they do and trust that they are doing their best to limit casualties (all casualties).
  13. How much does it mean to ya?
  14. I find that hard to agree with. It is not the 'top brass' fighting the tactical war where these civilian death's are occurring. Statements like: are criticising our soldiers and their execution of the war.
  15. Amy, It is a matter of self defense vs an outright attack not over who has a greater right to live. It is sad that innocent people must get mixed up in this but I don't believe the option of ignoring the issue will solve the problem. Clinton tried that for 8 years and allowed things to come to a boiling point. Now we are having to deal with it. The time for peaceful resolution of this was 5-6 years ago when the Kobar towers were bombed and our soldiers killed, or when the US embassies in Africa were bombed, or when the US Cole was bombed. Were those lives any less valuable? The truth is that Al Quaeda set the conditions to increase the chances for civilian casualties by hiding combatants, ammunition, and wartime supplies among villages and religious buildings. They did this to specifically target the will of the world and support for the operation in the US. They contributed directly to the deaths of their own populace.
  16. It is taking a while. It must be reeeeeeeeeaaaaalllly good!
  17. Please do. Soldiers have a job to do just like you or me. That job does not reflect on their ethics or morality in a negative way. Your statement 'might makes right' has a very negative connotation to it.
  18. This: I agree. That is exactly what I said. Not sure why you disagreed and then restated what I said. Criticizing by itself is not productive. There is a big difference between criticizing and using words to motivate people. I didn't say that using words was whining.
  19. I find this rather insulting. Some of the most kind, gentle, and respectful people I know are soldiers. I used to be a soldier. Insinuating that all great soldiers believe 'might makes right' shows a vast amount of ignorance. It also explains your attitude toward our military. I would suggest you get to know the men and women of your military better. You will be surprised.
  20. Lindsey, I have two very young boys and neither is circumcised. We were educated on the benefits and possible problems of circumcision vs noncircumcision. My boys have had a few more urinary tract infections than most circumcised boys. We were told they would have to pay more attention to cleanliness [whisper] down there [/whisper] than a circumcised boy. But, it is not absolutely necessary. We had a lot of doctors and nurses try to talk us into it based on these types of medical issues. There are still a large amount of advocates for it.
  21. I really don't think that the PRIMARY purpose of ear piercings is to inflict pain. I could be wrong but............
  22. We have diverged in what we were talking about. I am talking about 'Innocent people dying' as the result of a war or conflict. Although we do everything we can to prevent the unnecessary loss of life sometimes it can't be avoided. Does this mean we should never go to war again because an innocent might be killed? I would argue no. Here we go taking everything to extremes again. It's all relative. I think you know what I mean. I don't think the basis is 'irrational fear'. I believe it is called self defense.
