i imagine it was hard for you to fly close to him while flying away from him . the same thing happend on my first double tube jump. the guy sitting with the tube was backsliding and i was chasing him headdown with my tube. he had his knees a little high and was leaning forward just a bit. you may want to try sitflying with one arm straight up without the tube or maybe try some hybrid dives where you have to hang under one or two people. you could also do some two-ways with your tube. use another jumper for a proximity reference and work on tweeking your body position. levin vSCR #17 vSCS #03

it's more or less just personal preference. i prefer a side mount for freeflying, but i think a top mount is a better choice for all around camera flying in general. the side mount keeps the weight from being centered directly on top of your head. which is better in the case of a hard opening. if your chest strap is too tight or your box to big you can get a side mount locked in your risers. it's happened to me 3 times. each time i got it undone by loosening my chest strap. i would think that there is a better chance of getting a top mount tangled in your lines if you have line twist. a top mount may make it more difficult for you to look at your canopy if it has line twist. a top mount is a little harder to fly headdown if you are not rock solid on your head. but if you have the headdown skilled already flying it isn't anymore difficult. sidemounts seem to be more common and more popular. regardless of whichever style you decide to go with besure to get a chincup. i recommend one from www.boneheadcomposites.com levin vSCS #3

you are probably going to have to learn how to fly daffy or get a drogue which might look cool mixed in with some tubes on a tube dive. levin vSCR #17 vSCS #03 gRAT #40

i agree. but getting knocked unconcious in freefall would totally suck. which i guess would cause you to loose altitude awareness. levin vSCS #3

i doubt you insulted anybody. diving straight down into a formation is irresposible and shows poor judgement on the part of the diving jumper. it's a good way to get yourself killed and it has killed people in the past. the rw people don't do it. they dive to outside and work there way in. the same rule applies to freeflying even more so due to increase speed and danger. thanks for taking the time to remind everyone. blue skies and safe dives, levin vSCR #17 vSCS #03 gRAT #40

actually the spaceland guys stayed (stevie, trent and jed) it was the waller guy that had to hit the road - or the spaceland guy that temporarily went astray as trent would say levin vSCS #3

hard to say. it seems some of the best teams change each year. arizona freeflight won the nationals last year. I'd check the Oct. 2002 issue of parachutist or skydiving magazine for the this years national results. that would be the best list of the current top 5 freefly teams. levin vSCS# 3

i copied this from the uninsured relative workshop website. i think it explains the consenquences of underage tandem jumps very well. although i'm not so sure the felony child abuse thing would be that big a problem. maybe your dzo will make an exception for you since you're a jumper. if not you may have to get your own tandem rig and rating. but then again what better way to share the entire experience with your step daugher. levin vSCS# 3 grat# 40

chronicles 3 for entertainment flyboyz party mix and 2001 nationals for learning new moves haven't seen any of olav's new videos since cloud's edge. cloud's edge is pretty good. freefly mill 2 is good just because of the actual length of the video levin vSCR# 17 vSCS# 3 grat#40

did you not get all your competition jumps in? i thought today was good. i went on 2 hybrid dives, did 2 coach jumps, 1 ball jump and 1 small campfire dive. and i would of ended the day with a tube dive if i hadn't had banged my knees hard on the bottom of the door as i bounced out because i thought it was fun to dive last by leaping from my bench seat 4 seatbelts up from the end. levin grat#40 vSCR#17 vSCS#3
