  1. great! Although most of my 370 jumps are freefly I still have very much to lean. I have been practicing head down docking and trasitions lately. I am now able to do some solid dock (I have gotten 9 points head down! in one dive) but I still need to work on my flying so I can be a little more smooth with my movements and dock a little lighter. (sometimes I fight the air rather than flying it so I seem to stiffen up a bit which makes the movements a little more irratic (sp?) than they could be.. keep up the good work! -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  2. my personal hard deck is 1500 if I have a mal... I usually dump around 3000-3500 feet as I have a crossfire that snivels consistantly for 800 feet. if I had nothing out then I would go streight to reserve around 1500-2000 feet..I beleive the reccomended hard deck in the sims is 1800 for c-d licence holders..that may include b licences but I cant remember.. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  3. LOOKIN PRETTY SOLID! good job...keep it up and when you come to "THE" boogie in richmond we can have some fun! -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

I talked to jason last night and he said that he was going to be with you 2 as the camera guy... went on to talk about nationals for a minute, but I wasnt sure.. I guess team asian invasion crapped out once again this year.. it really sux cuz I wanted to really practice with one set of people for a while. I guess Ill jsut wait until I get to texas at the end of this year and see if I can start a team there... Any spaceland junkies out there looking to put a novice/intermediate freefly team together???? -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

    track dive

I need a pro tack, and I need to leave the plane on my own count...:) next time.. anyways this weekend Ill be out again.. maybe we can try it again cause I felt really good on my back, it has been a while since I led one and I felt like I was pretty flat... ahh well lates -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  7. I built mine for about 45 bucks.. that was for material and handle and well everything..:) -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  8. I have a trow out with a freefly pud that is really nice. stays right where I packed it and easy to grab. came as an option on the oddessey and I am sure that other rigs can be retro fit with one... if you can feel the bottom of the container then you can grab it.. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  9. what I would figure then is for an 18 foot tube (which is how long mine is) get the widest rip-stop nylon offered (usually 60") and get about 7 yards of it. that will allow an extra 3 feet for mistakes and to roll the seam over itself a few times at the top. it also depends in the thickness/diameter of the tube on which you will want to get, and if you plan on a solid color or having a pattern in it. make sure its either tapered at the top so it will hold its shape better, or one thought is to put upside down pockets in the top to catch air and help it keep its shape. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  10. any local fabric store should have rip stop nylon that is generally used for tubes. depending on the size of the tube will determine how much you need... first figure out a pattern and if you can use a measuring tape that will tell you how many yards to buy. just over compensate a bit if its your first one as you will need extra material for mistakes and for the seams... do a search there is allot of stuff written about making tubes.. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

    track dive

this weekend I led a track dive, which started out not so good, I did the count (with a big hand wave) and noticed that 2 people were not watching (out of 5 of us) so I started the count over...unfortunately the 2 people who saw the first count were off and away. mental note: leave on my own count and dont wait for others... especially on a track dive as with the line of flight plan they would be able to catch up to the leader alot easier than float up. just thought I would share this with you all.. any comments welcome:) also on the dive the one person that was with me (the others being about 300 feet below and off to the side noticed in a borrel roll) had a pro track and avg speed was 110. I am also 6' tall and 185 without any gear so I thought that was pretty flat... -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  12. Not that I am very informed on tandem rigs, but I believe that "tail gates" are used fairly regularly on tandem canopies. I have never seen the brake stows used on a sport rig, but I have seen them on a handfull of tandem rigs... hey skygod7777 if your out there I know you know more about this than me as you pack tandems every weekend... any insights? -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  13. I have a crossfire 2 also loaded at 1.85. I would say about the same, but I find myself starting about 200 feet higher and sitting in double fronts until I get to a point where I should let out to plane out. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  14. it is skydive wayne county in richmond indiana. right on the indiana ohio border (sometimes we even have people land in ohio on a bad spot/windy day:) Ill definately jump with ya.. just ask for yoshi...thats what I go by... -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  15. my brother and I jump. I started in 1998 and took a few years off. it took me several years to talk him into it and after his first static line he was hooked.. I remember it was a sun set jump and I think to this day his favorite jump is a sunset track dive... he now has about 200 jumps more than I do and is loving every minute of it.. even moved out to the dz and lives at the end of the runway. I told my wife (before we got married) that she had to jump.. that was one pre-requisite that she jumped at least once to see what I love about it so much... she has done one tandem and it really isnt her bag, but she completely supports me (hence all my new gear) and she says she will prob do more jumps in the future, but no real plans to (I assume at the end of the year when I go for my tandem rating she will be one of my first students) cant wait for that... my mom...no way in hell to get her even in a plane much less to jump out of one. and the rest of my family I have ben working on, but no takers just yet:) -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

    Graffiti

420 is the cop code for a drug bust. I think it is specifically good ole mary jane... hence the canibus cup (in amsterdam) (which is a pot smoking and marajuana growing competition) is held on april 20th opening ceremony at 4:20 pm/am... (forget which one) fyi- this knowledge was gained in college and I am no longer directly associated with this genre of living -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

    Head down

I started sit flying on jump number 23 and now with 365 jumps I have about 20 belly dives since student status... I am pretty solid in a sit/stand, and feel comfy with aroung 4-5 other people hd around me...I would say everyone here is on the ball with how long it takes..notwo people will learn alike.. if you are really trying to do it and devote all of your jumps to training and learning freefly the time may be shorter than if you do a handfull of belly dives in there just to see other people in freefall:) anyways jsut my 2cents.. hey lew! hear about our 4 way isl belly team?? me jason vern kelly and greg.... team name: cracker japs..."we'll put our prize in any box:)" (jason and I are half japanese and kelly vern and greg are good ole' corn fed crackaaaahhhhhs!:) jsut to clarify the name:) -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  18. I use to have that happen with my crossfire, but I am 6'1" and I couldnt reach it...so what I did was jsut take my palms facing forward and slap my risers at the same time with both hands (sometimes taking many slaps in a row) just bang on m...and that made it come down to the risers... if you can reach about 4 inches above your links then I wouldnt say its a riser problem, my 2 cent -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  19. I heave never jumped a canopy that opens nicer... -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  20. just get a crossfire an you wont have to worry about hard openings or opeining in a track: -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  21. what year was the reflex made?? I had one that was pretty nice, I would suggest a different rig wimply because of the pop top on the reserve. some riggers dont like them and the pop top seems to loosen a little bit after a few jumps. do a search on reflex and you will see many views on them... -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  22. basquiat isnt quite pop, but it is in a way (mostly because of the time frame he was making art). Roy Litch.. pretty cool stuff... have you ever hear of T.O.D.T? I think they are german, but a really cool group of artists that collaborate on stuff that is out of this world.. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  23. Ill try to get some pics taken this weekend.. anyone who is interested jsut pm me with and Ill get pics up... Ill try to post them, but if you want additional info jsut pm me.. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  24. I went to herron school of art in indianapolis, in. its in the top 10 for the nation, but isnt very well know.. my major was photo, but I mostly paint and sculpt now... I have also done a handfull of furnature design...ever get a chance to come out to richmond and see the coffee table at my brothers house (next door to the airport) its pretty cool if I may say so myself. as far as a stuckist.. not me I would like to profit from it when possible..msot of my stuff kind of resembles jean michelle basquiat's work (my favorite artist) for those of you who dont know who he is: he was andy worhalls buddy, worked in his "factory" and even dated madona for a little while.. as most famous artist he is now dead from a heroin overdose... (not the road I forsee for myself)... anyways thats my little blurb...if you want to see what kind of work i do look up basquiat's work and it is very similar...accept mine sell for less than a 10th of the price!!!! -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  25. stuckist? stucco? or jsut some joke I dont get?:) -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
