what I do if I get high on exit is just ball up... make yourself as small as possible so your fall rate will be faster than the top person. then once down try to push your feet down and if needed you might need to stand up a little bit... pm me if you want more detail... -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

at a going away party for my buddie and I (when we went to europe) he passes out and we completely painted his face with permanent marker...was there for 3 days...he got me back though (once we got home) when I woke up one morning and it wasnt until that night (after spending the day outside with my grandparents) that I noticed my left leg was shaved and I had all sorts of designs on my back in perm marker....I guess my grandparents thought it was a new tatoo! -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

not on the pro track because if you use the viewing screen to see anything about the dive it uses more batt.... on my dytter it said low batt last year and I put about 50 jumps on it since and it still works... I wouldnt really rely on it ever especially if its batt is low.. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

I couldnt agree more with you....learn everything you can on a big canopy....even if it doesnt seem to go faster at least you will get a feel for the alti lost when performing larger turns....if it seems to pull out quicker learn slowly what it takes to hit the sweet spot.. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

I know what thats like.. I took my b and c licence last year, but I am waiting to take the d before I send it in (so I only have to pay once)....hence me only having my a licence right now:):):) congrats on your a!!!! -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

I didnt get butterflies until my 3rd jump...then I was really nervous... once I had my licence I even get that way after taking a month off... the door opens and I think to myself "what am I doing" then once out in the air I remember what it is all about and it all goes away... my brother had it so bad before he did his first jump he came up with reasons weekend after weekend not to go to the dz.. then one weekend we went out and had a blast (it seemed as if everything just clicked and he was so ready to go) dont rush, but keep pressure on yourself if this is what you want to do... it never hurts to stay on the ground for a day (lor longer) until you get your head streight... -yoshi be safe!:) _________________________________________ this space for rent.

not that you should until you are comfortable, but this weekend I did a 180 carver on a raider 220....(jsut having some fun with student gear:) actually had a decent swoop (considering the bus I was driving:) I dont think it would be advisable on a parafoil or anything, but thats not saying it cant be done.... simply put: you can build up more speed on larger canopies, but that is not to be taken into consideration until you have reached the skill level to so so safely. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

a adhesive material that won't hurt the canopy??
Yoshi replied to skygod7777's topic in Gear and Rigging
what are you going to put on it??? a big superman symbol?:) -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent. -
one thing that I do is before I roll the canopy up (in place of the s folds) I pull the tail to one side so when I roll it up the bridal attachment point is exposed and where it would be if I pro-packed it...that works pretty well for me.. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

Im with you.. the first 5 jumps on it are going to be hop and pops from alti....and I dont think Ill be pulling at 2500 unless in rare instances...the crossfire 2 opens with a long snivel so I usually pull at 3k.... I know I can land it, but I dont want to make the dzo or my brother uncomfortable ... thats mostly why I am waiting until I have a few more jumps... last year I was jumping my brothers 105 with no problem.. even took it off the dz on one landing and was able to land it in a pretty small area... ahh well -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent. -
search the posts.. there has been alot written on it.. I personally like the openings of a psycho pack.. I jump a crossfire... I have also packed my last 250 jumps like that and I have developed some pretty fast ways to do it.. so now I can do a complete pack job in about 4-5 minutes (if I am rushing) I say pack the way you want, but be consistant.. if you dont like your openings than change what you are doing... -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

yup me too today... work is slow so I have been on here for 3 hours streight now..:):):) -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

I did a 38way...2 otters... is skydive chicago I think it was last years summerfeast..maybe the year before.. wasnt all together, but mike ortiz and rook had smoke and they both led.... I never knew how much you stink once on the ground if you get in the smoke trails...that stuff is horrid:) -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

whats funny about that I have this book of inventions and patents thats call mousetraps to mufflecuffs....there is this one invention that was created in like 1850 or somewhere around there called the gas trap with a bag that hooks onto your belt (underneath clothing) and a tube that goes up your but to catch gas so its noiseless and stenchless:) maybe we could put those in production! -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

not be be an ass, but I think the fossil fuel world should be comming to an end. I personally think that it would be a good thing to not have that fuel available (at least to the US) that would only push our technology further and let us apply what we already can to lower pollution, and get one step closer the the "future" (that we see in movies)....I guess I am a little bit of a dreamer though...I would like to see some huge advancements in my lifetime...I just think it would be neat to see flying cars and shit like that by the end of my time.. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

how long to get current before jumping your pocket rocket
Yoshi replied to Yoshi's topic in Gear and Rigging
well I have done about 25 jumps this season on a 149 and I know that I could land my 111 but I am waiting just to make myself a little more comfy... my question is how long do you guys wait (the ones that jump fairly high wing loadings) if you took the winter off or havnt jumped in a while.. do you go strieght to your pocket rocket or do you get current on something a little bigger??? Its also a respect thing for me... I have a handful of jumpers around me that say wait a little longer...and with my -never been jumped- brand new rig sitting there it makes it hard, but I have to respect those around me even if I know I can land safely... -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
