  1. I just said my risk level is lower. If my husband is cheating on me he would be dead before the disease could get him. I just thought a button with No, I'm Not HIV+, should be added to this poll. But Unlike Weegegirl, I get my head ripped off for stating that. DONE Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  2. I was trying to state the less obvious. I would hope you would know that you and everyone else can become HIV+ by screwing. I'm married. That is why I said RAPE, that is why I said 3rd world Country. Would you like me to include the old wise tale of toliet seats and swimming pools? Is that what you are looking for. I don't believe you can get HIV/AIDs from toliet seat or swimming pool. Saying you can NEVER get HIV is just stupid. Sorry I replied to this post. Big mistake on my part. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  3. I'm not HIV, but its ignorant to think you can't ever get it. Granted my chances are extremely low, unless I am raped or get blood from third world country or something, NOT HIV+ should be an option. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  4. You CAN do it! I can't imagine anyone would stop you. Your problem will be getting people to admit to their condition and join you. Its really sad that our society is really quite ignorant in regards to HIV. Good luck! Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  5. I'm too young to have a copy of that SIM or GM Pledge, but I will sure do my best to find one. Do you have one Quade? So way back then seat belts were a optional in the eyes of FAA? What are the individual member benefits to the GM program? What are the GM benefits? Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  6. I think you missed his point. Hes asking you how do you know he voted what the skydivers wanted when you don't know what the skydivers want/wanted?? I'm not saying he doesn't, but there isn't a poll of all the skydivers/members everytime uspa makes a decision. Maybe cause he is a skydiver and that's how he knows that he voted for the skydivers. What makes you think he DIDN'T vote for the skydivers? Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  7. Tell the whole story! It was common practice for jumpers to not use seat bealts at the time and still remains so in a very large part of the world. Since the accident the U.S. has become more educated. The accident had nothing to do with GM status. Didn't they sign a PLEDGE to abide by all the rules of the USPA? If so, then it has everything to do with GM status. Just because everyone was doing it doesn't make it right and if they did sign the pledge.... 8. I'm talking about the Twit you referred to that you claim got Mike elected. If that was really the case, same twit also campaigned for Jan and got her elected. That is what I am talking about. And so you want him to work within the system. Okay so he ran and got elected to the BoD. He is a member of the USPA. How much more "in the system" does he have to be. He shouldn't be blackmailed or bullied into being a GM DZ or any program he does not believe is in the best benefit of the INDIVIDUAL members of the USPA. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  9. So he should pay up for something he doesn't believe in? That would be just stupid and he would lose all respect from me. So he should just conform to something he believes doesn't do any good for the jumpers. What about Jan's endorsement Quade? What about the twit that backed her or yeah and Mike. You are so quick to point fingers and say he's a bad guy cause he won't conform. I guess you are just one of those people who find it okay for hypocrites to run our little voluntary organization. I don't and never will. We had a former BoD that was very outspoken and most of that BoD didn't agree with his views BUT, he stood his ground on what HE believed in and that's why we elect a BoD. It seems you want everyone to just conform. Good thing our government doesn't work that way or we would all be screwed. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  10. Yeah Quade, Didn't Jan get elected because of the same twit that you say got Mike elected? Also, how can an organization serve 2 masters (individual members and GM) adequately. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  11. Come on Ron, you really need to retype the whole thing again for me. What about if they had swoop competition, and they jumped off the top of a building? Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  12. The difference is they COULD walk...We CAN'T skydive without an aircraft. Again its the IPC's hangup...I personally think that skydiving is an incredably boring sport to watch unless you do it. Just put on a video in a room full of whuffos...They will watch at first, then after its just the same stuff over and over...They will lose interest. There is not a market for skydiving as a spectator sport...Just check out the X games. They took out skysurf, and went with things like skatebording...Something 12 year olds can do. What if we used a balloon? Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  13. Quote The person that pushed for the internet campaign was Don Jardine, aka "treetop". If you doubt me, go over to rec.skydiving and ask him how Mike Mullins originally became a member of the BoD. *** Mike won because people voted for him and wanted a change in the current BoD. Treetop just did alot of campaigning for him and several others. Didn't treetop run also? I did run that first year when Mike had to run as a write-in. In fact, a few of us did from that area of the country. The Election committee found that I was more qualified than Mike at that time and I only had about 600 jumps, no Instructor rating, just a fun jumper, but sat through 1 whole BoD meeting. Now Mike's qualifications included Pilot, DZO, former Instructor, many more years in the sport than me and has competed in skydiving and has been to several BoD meetings. Judy I don't visit rec.dot. anymore. I don't have the code book that goes with all the gibberish. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  14. well, we only use it to get to our "arena" just like other athletes get a ride to the stadium O That is an excellent statement! I had always heard skydiving is not an olympic sport because we had to use an airplane to get to our "arena". Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  15. As -I- remember it, he was voted in as the result of an internet campaign from over at rec.skydiving as a kind of F-U because some twit, not the actual DZO mind you, was being a total a-hole and thought he knew how to run the USPA, so he got the DZO involved as a write-in candidate. He thought he would have some sort of sway with the DZO that was elected. Fortunately, he didn't, but we still ended up with this really weird BoD member situation. BTW, I hold no ill will to -any- non group member drop zone -- including the one owned by this BoD member. What pisses me off is the idea that they are "entitled" to some sort of USPA benefits when they do not contribute or take the pledge. Why is it so wrong for a NON GM DZO to give a shit about skydiving matters? There are DZO's that pretend to conform to the GM program that really don't give a shit about you and me or skydiver out there. I call them hypocrites. The DZO's want to be in charge of the USPA so they can make the USPA out to be the bad guys. All these GM DZO's want more regulation and because they are too scared to enforce a something as a business, they go to the USPA and say make it rule so the DZO can go to you and say hey you can't jump cause the USPA says you have to have blonde hair and blues eyes. Now the DZO is off the hook and everyone is mad at the USPA. I didn't vote for but 2 people that are on the BOD. I didn't really care much for some of the other candidates. Judy By the way quade, several jumpers, including myself, bugged him for years to run for the BoD. So maybe I'm the twit you are referring too. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  16. Now that is rediculous. So the USPA shouldn't care at all about ALL the USPA MEMBERS that jump at "those" dz's. WOW. I thought USPA was a membership service organization. I am a DUE PAYING member of this organization. The GM progam is a joke and doesn't even cover the cost of advertising. The Rating Courses are advertised for the MEMBERS not the DZ. If you are looking to get a rating, don't you want to know ALL your options? Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  17. They should care because the majority of the jumpers that jump at "those" dz's are USPA MEMBERS and are flipping the bill to cover the cost of all those worthless GM programs that don't pay for themselves. That's why the USPA should care. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  18. I've been in an otter that took over 30 minutes to get to altitude. First the stall warning goes off on take off then after 30 minutes and still another 2000 feet to go to "full altitude", we are told we have to get out cause they are out of gas. Our Cessna 195 gets to 12,500 in about 15-18 minutes. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  19. Had students soo good that .... Due to weather we only were able to complete level 1 on Saturday. Sunday we completed 2-7 and they did a solo. They were young military guys so they had the energy and did exactly what they were told. I miss those guys. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  20. When I got divorced, several people came to me and said "I can't belive you married him to begin with". Now all those statements kinda made me a little mad cause no one said them to me before hand. Tell him how you feel about her and why. If he is one of those (I was), and says "it will get better when blah blah blah," its doesn't. I wish all those that thought I shouldn't have gotten married (to the first guy) would have told me. I don't know if it would have made a difference, but I will never know. Good luck. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  21. My Mother-in-law is a teacher at a school and she has to re-apply for her job this year but is "guaranteed" a job because they have a signed contract. We had a problem in the city schools where gym teachers are teaching algebra, and so on. A new superintendent was hired and she is basically cleaning house and putting teachers where they should be and cleaning out some of the uncertified teacher which included a bunch. 22. You are not right. I don't know what to say about Mr. Stabby, but that should put you on a govt list somewhere. As far as the original question, I would probably spend more time on DZ.com or work on my fear of base jumping and drink alot! judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  23. Well, my little porn star, its only 7 jumps a day and then you can give me one of your AWESOME back rubs at the end of the day and I should be good to go for the next day. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  24. Jules: I don't dig on no swine. Vincent: Bacon is gooood, pork chops are gooood. I love Pulp Fiction.
  25. I am so looking forward to WTS Memorial Weekend Boogie. I plan on doing around least 20 jumps over the 3 days and that only comes out to $12.45 a jump! YAHOO! Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
