    Last time it was done it didn't go very well. Some people on here, well, don't play nice and I think many of the BOD choose not to participate because when they disagreed with the "wrong" person it turned into flame fest. If you have questions or concerns, you need to direct your questions/concerns to the BOD's via their e-mail on the USPA website. The candidates statements will be in Parachutist soon. Not all BOD have or operate computers. Yes, I know that sounds bizarre, but those who don't have desk jobs don't all use computers or even want to. If anything, a sticky thread needs to be made on HOW TO VOTE. Its very simple but its also easy to not fill in all the information (name, address, USPA#) which would make your vote invalid.     Well, I can guarantee my cat is not a Buddist. She kills everything she can get her paws on. Now she does hang out alot at the church behind our house. Its a Missionary Baptist Church, but she is usually napping during services. Now I guy I work with just told me that dogs and cats don't have souls.     $ is a big thing, especially getting started, but there are alot of people quiting, people who have the money to jump because the people suck so bad and they are treated so poorly by DZO's and other jumpers. judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

    He actually started like 30 years ago and restarted again I believe this year or end of last. He found the jumper 30 years ago much friendlier than todays. It hard to learn to skydive if no one will talk to you or jump with you without knowing anything about you. We tell our new jumpers, if you want to jump with us you have to tell us, if we are available we will jump with you, BUT you have to get in our face about it.     I got a real good indication this weekend from a visting jumper on why skydiving numbers are way down. He is relatively new jumper. He said he had been to 6 other dropzones and no one would talk to him. Not even the DZO's. This is not some young cocky punk who thinks his/her shit doesn't stink. He is just a newer jumper looking to make some jumps. Now, I understand and so did he that DZO's are busy and what not, but lets face it, someone representing the dz couldn't come up and say hey, how are you, where you from? Maybe we could hook you up with someone to jump with. Why the hell would anyone want to continue in this sport when they are treated like that. He has a new home dz now. I know there are some people out there at a few dz's that will jump or at least make someone feel at home. We just need more of them.     I was at work. We have CNBC on all day. Heard that the first plane crashed and assumed it was a student pilot in a cessna (or at least a cessna), then as I was walking to the copy room and was looking at one of the TV's the other plane hit. We had direct lines to Cantor and their line rang, picked it up and nothing. We tried calling our New York office and all the people we talk to in the WTC and surrounding buildings. I don't need to see the pictures anymore. I can handle the memorials, but the media can put away the pictures of people jumping away now. I will never forget.     What about all those on motorcycles that are weaving in and out of traffic or are extremely exceeding the speed limit. Alot of those I didn't see him was because they are coming up at warp speed and shouldn't be and the car should have had plenty of time to turn in front of them. j Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

    Well, I had to learn to parallel park and I NEVER use that. Not in the 22 years of driving do I recall ever having to parallel park.     agreed - the only thing useful I found in this thread - which has been discussed about as much as RSL/AAD''s. is the attachement of the girl who won't get a pony. (laughed my ass off) But, D license is a privledge - if you earn it you get it, you don't earn it you don't get it. If we weakened the requirements for everyone that ever bitches about something everyone would be an honorary D licensed holder when you joined the USPA.     30!!! WOW!!! Yeah, but I have 6 feeders up and have been feeding them for 5 years now. All the Juveniles that are starting to grow up and get their red throats are trying to stake their claim at a feeder and try to run everyone else off.     That doesn't seem like such a dumb question to me: 1) How long does it take you visually recognize that you are on the wrong, short runway?; 2) How much runway is remaining at this point?; 3) How much speed do you have at this point?; and, 4) How much distance do you need to stop from that speed? How quickly can you stop at 200 mph? Can they even see straight ahead and down out of the front window? Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

    I was taking pictures of a bunch last night. We've had over 30 around the patio at one time. They get really active when it looks like or does storm. Very odd little birds, but a definately a joy to watch. judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

    To me, a good tandem video is about the student and not the bizarre behavior of the TM. As was stated by someone else, you can't even see the student face, the focus is on the TM.
